Mostly dry and warmer Memorial Day weekend ahead
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Though it has been a cool and rainy week across West Michigan, warmer and drier weather is on the horizon for the holiday weekend.
While widespread showers are not expected into the weekend, enough moisture will be in place for a few isolated showers.
The best chance of showers is for Friday and Saturday, especially for areas inland. A sprinkle is possible near and north of the Big Rapids area Sunday, followed by a few more showers trending north Monday.

Warmer temperatures arrive in the Midwest beginning Saturday. While highs will still be around 10 degrees below normal, it should feel a bit better after the low 50s this week.
This will, however, be one of the cooler Memorial Days in recent years. Last year saw a high of 65 degrees. Years prior saw highs in the 70s and 80s. The average high temperature for May 26 is 73 degrees.

The warming trend is expected to continue into the long range. Models indicating 70s and potentially even 80s making a return by early June.
