Asking Eric: Fellow girl scout parent won't stop complaining
Dear Eric: I was a latchkey kid in the '70s, no father, working mom of three kids. No one was ever there to read me a story, watch me make a basket or catch a ball. I now have a 7-year-old girl. I thrive watching her in her weekly two-hour gym class and Girl Scout meetings, where I am a troop leader. I see most parents focused on their cellphones during these activities and it makes me sad for the kids.

Sarah Michelle Gellar Celebrates Her 'Tribe' for Helping Her Succeed as a Working Mom
Even the rich and famous need an extra hand when raising kids, according to Sarah Michelle Gellar, who is opening up about how much extra help she needs raising her kids as a working mom. The 48-year-old got very candid about how much she relies on her nearest and dearest to step in when she can't be around during a recent appearance, telling People magazine just how grateful she is to have so many people willing to step in and help out. Related: Sarah Michelle Gellar Goes Into Full Mom Mode When Son Takes It a Little Too Far Dancing on the Megatron at Chiefs vs. Chargers Game Gellar chatted with the magazine while attending the Ask2BSure and Lifetime's Pretty Hurts premier, which is where she confessed that she relies pretty heavily on those around her when it comes to her children. "When you're up at 3 in the morning and you're feeling helpless, and there's a tribe of people you can call at 3 in the morning that are also up, and [will] be reminding you you've got this and you can do this," shared before confessing that she often has to miss things because of her job. "My daughter had a huge recital last week. I couldn't be there. I was working in Toronto, and my tribe was sending me videos, even though you weren't supposed to video the show. They all secretly had their videos out," she explained. "They brought extra flowers, and those were the things, especially in our situation, where that tribe really comes in handy because we're not always physically here." And it doesn't sound like things are going to get any less busy for the mother of two anytime soon. Between the news of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot, and Gellar's decision to join a vaccination awareness campaign, the star's plate is pretty full. Thankfully she has a lot of people around her who are willing to step in and help when she can't make it in person. We should all be so lucky! Jamie Lee Curtis opens up about making VERY controversial decision at the height of her career
Actress Jamie Lee Curtis has finally revealed why she turned to hawking Activia yogurt during the height of her career - and the answer is more simple than you may think. Though Curtis, 66, is well-known for her roles in movies like Halloween and Friday Friday, she is also popular for her commercial work, which included a lucrative deal as a spokesperson for the probiotic yogurt in the mid-2000s. She would often pop up on ads for the product during popular TV shows on the likes of Disney Channel and Bravo, making it known around the country that she was a big fan of the healthy treat. Curtis became so well-known for the commercial that it even made it to Saturday Night Live, as Kristen Wiig parodied the segment as the actress, joking that all of the prebiotic yogurt was giving her some crazy stomach issues. But while some may have believed it was a big pivot from her work in big-budget films, Curtis revealed during a new segment on 60 Minutes that she wanted to take the deal because it allowed her more time to be at home with her two children, Ruby and Annie. 'For the most part, they allowed me to stay home with my kids,' Curtis revealed during her interview, which premiered this weekend. 'So, I am an imperfect working mom because no working moms are perfect,' she continued. Curtis explained that the 'imperfect working mom' is someone that everyone can relate to. She would often pop up on commercials for the product during popular TV shows on the likes of Disney Channel and Bravo, making it known around the country that she was a big fan of the healthy treat 'We make it look good, we think we've done it, but the truth is, we feel badly, but I know how much time away from them I spent in pursuit of my own creativity,' Curtis said, as she began to tear up. However, during her time as a spokesperson, the company who made the yogurt, Dannon, settled for $21 million against the Federal Trade Commission after a class-action lawsuit accused them of making false claims, per CBS News. Consumers alleged that the brand promised that the yogurt could help aid and regulate your digestive system due to the probiotics, while studies showed otherwise. The company later reimbursed customers and modified the brand's marketing claims. At the time, Activia wasn't the only deal that Curtis took - Curtis was also a spokesperson for Hertz car rental company and L'eggs pantyhose. And, later in the interview, she was asked if there was ever a role that she wish she had taken, to which she said no. Today, her acting career is still thriving, as she accepted the Academy Award for Best Actress in 2023 for her role in Everything Everywhere All At Once. In addition to her supporting role win, she was also part of the winning group for the Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture honor. Today, her acting career is still thriving, as she accepted the Academy Award for Best Actress in 2023 for her role in Everything Everywhere All At Once She was previously nominated — but didn't win — at the 1995 ceremony for James Cameron's action comedy-thriller True Lies, in which she played the wife of Arnold Schwarzenegger's character, an computer hardware salesman who secretly lives a double life as a US counterterrorism agent. Karoline Leavitt's VERY MAGA office décor... and how she 'balances' being a mom in the White House
A revealing photo gave a glimpse into Karoline Leavitt 's White House office and showed how the press secretary balances the demands of both her job and motherhood. Donald Trump 's aide Margo Martin captured Leavitt's literal balancing act in her office on Thursday and shared it on X. 'Walked in to @PressSec typing with one hand, and feeding her son with the other. Super Mom!' Martin said. The press secretary, 27, wore a pink dress as she worked from her desk and fed her nine-month-old son Niko a bottle. Niko's pacifier and toy were placed on the desk among Leavitt's neatly organized papers. The working mom appeared to be drinking an iced green beverage from Tatte, likely a matcha of sorts. A sparkling matcha lemonade from Tatte costs $5.50, while an iced matcha latte costs $4.50 for a 12oz or $5.00 for a 16oz. Leavitt had several photos throughout her office, including a cutout of her in a black dress posing with Trump in a blue suit and red tie from the campaign trail placed on the heater. Leavitt posted the same photo to Instagram on January 1, 2024, with the caption, '2024. LETS GO! us.' On her corkboard, Leavitt pinned two pictures of her son: one of her holding the infant up on the beach and another of the baby sitting on a plane seat with a pillow bearing the presidential seal. She also has a signed group photograph of seventh-grade students from the George Walton Academy. Middle schoolers from the Georgia private school - where tuition costs $16,065 a year - visited Washington, DC, in March. During their field trip, the group visited the White House, where they met Leavitt and posed for the photo. Additionally, she has a meme of a man in a white shirt with his hand up to a brain saying, 'No thanks. I won't be needing that. I believe everything the legacy media shows.' On Monday, Leavitt shared a rare glimpse into her family life with a series of sweet snaps from a weekend trip to Palm Beach, Florida, with husband Nicholas Riccio, 59, and their young son. The family spent the weekend at Trump's Mar-A-Lago, and Leavitt captured adorable photos of the occasion. One picture showed the political aide smiling on a green couch while she held her young son, who was dressed in a cute checkered onesie, on her lap. In the second snap, Riccio - who is 32 years Leavitt's senior - also stepped into the frame as the trio posed in front of a pool at sunset. Leavitt captured another heartwarming photo of her spouse dressed more informally while cradling Niko and kissing his cheek. And the final picture in her adorable carousel simply alluded to the family relaxing on sun loungers while draped under towels.
