Dubai Metro's Blue Line to House the World's Highest Station
Dubai is adding another record to its name — the world's tallest metro station is now underway as part of the new Dubai Metro Blue Line project.
At 74 metres high, the future Emaar Properties Station will take the title of the world's highest metro stop. The design and foundation of the station were recently approved by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Designed by the Minds Behind Burj Khalifa
The station's design was created by U.S. architecture firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), known for projects like the Burj Khalifa and the Sears Tower in Chicago. The concept draws inspiration from the idea of a 'crossing gateway,' blending seamlessly with the urban surroundings.
Covering 11,000 square metres, the station will be able to handle 160,000 passengers per day, with a projected 70,000 daily users by 2040.
Luxury Meets Functionality
More than just height, the station stands out for its luxurious and sustainable design. The interior features natural stone, bronze metal panels, and glass ceilings to allow natural light to flow through. Earthy tones and robust materials give it a modern yet grounded feel.
The finishes — including Jura limestone, granite flooring, and glass skylights — were selected to reflect both tradition and innovation. Sustainability was also a major focus, ensuring the station will endure Dubai's climate and heavy use for decades to come.
Emaar Secures Naming Rights for 10 Years
Emaar has officially secured the naming rights to the station for the next 10 years, starting from its opening in 2029. More details on station names across the Blue Line are expected to be announced soon.
This station isn't just a transit hub — it's set to become a new landmark in Dubai's ever-evolving skyline.
