Jupiter police detain person after gunfire reported near Abacoa Golf Club, FAU campus
Jupiter police are investigating reports of gunshots fired near the Abacoa Golf Course on May 27.
Jupiter police said in a news release that they detained a person "without incident" at about 9:20 p.m., according to the release, which notes that no injuries were reported.
Palm Beach County Jail records did not list an arrest overnight.
Police said they received reports of shots fired in the area of Barbados Drive, which lies just north of the course's clubhouse along Parkside Drive and leads into a residential area immediately west of it.
"The area is deemed safe and all clear. The investigation is ongoing," reads the release. "As a precaution, we are asking residents and visitors to avoid the area while officers investigate."

Florida Atlantic University, which has a campus across the street from the golf course, reported an active threat on social media. The school's X account asked people to stay away from the campus until further notice. It later posted that there is no threat to the campus and normal operations have resumed.
"RUN, HIDE, FIGHT," reads the FAU statement. "Follow police instructions."
