Only road in and out of Knotts Island closed due to crash
KNOTTS ISLAND, N.C. (WAVY) – The only road in and out of Knotts Island is closed following a crash Wednesday morning.
According to Currituck County officials, while the Marsh Island Causeway remains closed, travel between Knotts Island and mainland Currituck County is limited to the Knotts Island-Currituck Ferry.

The crash knocked out power to customers in the Knotts Island area. That includes the KNotts Island Senior Center, which is temporarily closed as a result.
Images community members posted to social media show a vehicle in a body of water, with power lines down on the road.
Dominion Energy responded to the scene and anticipate it could take up to eight hours to complete repairs to the damaged power lines and poles.
