Skanska builds underground metro station in Oslo, Norway, for NOK 1.7 billion, about SEK 1.6 billion
STOCKHOLM, May 27, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Skanska has signed a contract with Fornebubanen to build the new Skøyen metro station in Oslo, Norway. The contract is worth NOK 1.7 billion, about SEK 1.6 billion, which will be included in the Nordic order bookings for the second quarter of 2025. The contract includes the construction of a new underground metro station with two tracks and two access points, one on each side of Hoffsveien at Skøyen. The project also involves construction of a station hall located about 45 meters below ground, concrete works, shafts, technical installations such as ventilation, electrical installations, elevators and escalators, outdoor areas, access buildings, and finalization works in pre-excavated tunnels. Additional building works will be carried out at Madserud, Bestum and in the tunnel towards Majorstuen. Skøyen is one of Oslo's busiest public transport hubs. The new station will increase capacity and improve connectivity between subway, train, and bus, contributing to positive urban development in the Norwegian capital. The project will be carried out with a strong focus on energy efficiency and reduced climate impact. Construction is scheduled to start in September 2025, with completion expected in 2029. Skanska builds the bypass I/12 near Prague, Czechia, for CZK 3.8 billion, about SEK 1.7 billion
STOCKHOLM, May 22, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Skanska has signed a contract with National Highway Authority of the Czech Republic to build the bypass I/12 near Prague, Czechia. The contract is worth CZK 3.8 billion, about SEK 1.7 billion, which will be included in the order bookings for Europe for the second quarter of 2025. The project "I/12 Běchovice-Úvaly" will create a safe and high-capacity 12.6 kilometer, four-lane road, including 23 bridges and six multi-level crossings. This new bypass of the districts in the east of Prague will help the flow and safety by diverting transit traffic away from populated areas. Inside populated areas, this will reduce the burden on the environment and residents. Work will start in July 2025 and the completion is scheduled for end of 2027. STOCKHOLM, May 20, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Skanska has signed an additional contract with the University of Virginia for the construction of the Paul and Diane Manning Institute of Biotechnology at Fontaine Research Park in Charlottesville, Virginia. The additional contract is worth USD 66M, about SEK 690M, which will be included in the US order bookings for the second quarter of 2025. Upon completion, the five-story, approximately 33,000 square meter (354,000-square-foot) Paul and Diane Manning Institute of Biotechnology at the University of Virginia will be a state-of-the-art facility to house the first-of-its-kind translational research program in the Commonwealth. STOCKHOLM, April 8, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Skanska has signed a contract with Caltrans to improve the condition, operation and sustainability of State Route 78 in San Diego County, CA, USA. The contract is worth USD 102M, about SEK 1.1 billion, which will be included in the US order bookings for the first quarter of 2025. Skanska's scope of work includes constructing an acceleration lane on eastbound Route 78 and rehabilitating the surface structural section for over 40 lane-miles of the roadway. The project also includes building new curb ramps to ADA standards, installing upgraded Midwest Guardrail systems, beyond gore paving and new bridge barrier. Skanska divests office building in Bucharest, Romania, for EUR 52M, about SEK 570M
STOCKHOLM, April 4, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Skanska has divested the first phase of the Equilibrium office complex in Bucharest, Romania, to Gordiusz Private Equity Fund, managed by Gránit Asset Management, for EUR 52M, about SEK 570M. The transaction will be recorded by Skanska Commercial Development Europe in the second quarter 2025. The transfer of the property is scheduled for the second quarter 2025. The office complex Equilibrium, that consists of two buildings, has become a landmark in the Northern part of the capital of Romania being located right at the entrance to the most vibrant office submarket - namely Floreasca-Barbu Vacarescu, which is often called the New CBD - in Bucharest. It is developed with the aim of redefining workspaces on one hand and provide a completely new aesthetic perspective on the area on the other hand.
