Meanwhile, in its long-range forecast from June 21 to July 5, the Met Office said: "Mid-June will probably see a good deal of dry weather across the UK due to the influence of high pressure, especially in the south, although some thundery outbreaks are still possible. "Toward the end of June and start of July, details are uncertain but conditions may become more changeable with some periods of unsettled weather. "Above average temperatures are more likely than below with some hot spells possible."

We're now in the midst of spring, with warmer weather and sunnier days coming thick and fast. The UK enjoyed the sunniest March on record, with the trend set to continue into April. Many of us will be looking ahead to holidays and being able to enjoy warmer times. According to WX Charts, snow could arrive over a 48-hour period in England in a matter of weeks. The snow has been predicted to land between Wednesday, April 23, and Friday, April 25, according to Cumbria could see the first dusting of snow at 6pm on April 23, before a band appears further south at 6am on April 24, spreading across Staffordshire, Derbyshire, Shropshire and into Wales. The snow is set to stick around across the Midlands, the North West and Wales until 12pm on April 25. Birmingham is expected to see a dusting at 12am on April 25, while at the same time heavier snow is forecasted for the northern half of Wales, alongside the North West of England, including Cheshire, Merseyside, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Cumbria and North Yorkshire. The largest band of snow is set to appear at 6am on April 25, covering much of central and northern Wales, and stretching across into England over Shropshire, Staffordshire, Derbyshire and the same North West regions. WX Charts has predicted temperatures to vary between 0C and 2C across the Midlands at this time. Snow is set remain in place at 12m on April 25, covering a smaller area including Solihull, parts of Warwickshire and Staffordshire, and extending up into the North West again. At the same time, heavy rain has been forecast for Northumberland, with up to 4mm of rain falling per hour. It comes as the Met Office issued a Yellow warning for rain, covering the South West, parts of Shropshire, Herefordshire, Cheshire and Merseyside, alongside much of Wales, starting at 12pm tomorrow (April 15) until 12pm on Wednesday (April 16). The Met Office predicted between 20mm to 40mm of rain to fall fairly widely, while a few areas could experience 50mm to 70mm. In its long range forecast between April 19 to April 28, the Met Office said: "Mixed conditions across the UK at the start of this period. "Showers or longer spells of rain are likely across many regions, these heavy at times with a risk of hail and thunder, perhaps accompanied by strong winds. "Some drier and brighter interludes are also likely at times, but probably with large amounts of cloud. Temperatures will likely be near normal overall. "Into the following week, a similar pattern is likely at first with unsettled conditions at times with a risk of some heavy rain or showers. Later in the week settled weather is expected to become more prevalent, with more in the way of dry, sunny weather beginning to develop. "Temperatures will probably be around normal or slightly above."

England, Wales and Scotland could see snow arrive on Thursday, April 17. At 12pm that day, snow is set cover much of the UK with only five counties spared, according to the forecaster. According to only Cornwall and Merseyside in England, South Glamorgan and Gwent in Wales, and Renfrewshire in Scotland will be sparred. In its long range weather forecast, the Met Office said weather might turn more unsettled towards the middle of April. It says: "High pressure should prevail for most of the outlook period, maintaining largely settled conditions for much of the time. "This should result in lengthy spells of dry and bright weather. It will be breezy at times, especially in the southwest at first. "Daytime temperatures will depend on the wind direction and cloud amounts, but most places will be warm for most of the period, and very warm days most likely will be further inland. "Overnight frosts are possible on clear nights where winds fall light. "There is also the chance of some areas of low cloud or fog, notably around the east coast. "Towards the middle of April, the weather may turn more unsettled as rain or showers try to push in from the west."
