Young driver nabbed for nearly doubling speed limit: OPP
A driver was stopped for allegedly travelling 118 kilometres per hour on Mill Street in Essa Twp., Ont., on Sun., June 1, 2025.
Provincial police stopped a young driver in Essa Township Sunday morning for alleged excessive speeding on an Angus road.
According to a social media post by Nottawasaga OPP, a 20-year-old G2 driver was travelling 118 kilometres an hour on Mill Street, a posted 60 zone.
Police confirmed that the driver's vehicle was impounded and that their licence was suspended.
'Speeding puts lives at risk, including yours,' said a Nottwasaga OPP media officers in the social media post. 'Let's all do our part to keep our roads safe.'
