Lahore Qalandars' Viral PSL Win Celebration Has An Unexpected Indian Twist
When the Lahore Qalandars lifted the Pakistan Super League (PSL) trophy, they knew they had made history. But it wasn't just the victory that had them jumping with joy - it was the unexpected reward that followed: Shiny new iPhones handed out to the team, including a 24-karat gold-plated iPhone 16 Pro for captain Shaheen Shah Afridi. The locker room erupted in celebration, with star pacer Haris Rauf joking, "No brother, this is unfair!" in response to Shaheen's exclusive prize. पाकिस्तान की क्रिकेट लीग PSL का फ़ाइनल Lahore Qalandars ने जीत लिया है। और पाकिस्तानी क्रिकेटर को iphone 📱 दिया जाएगा तो देखो कैसे खुस हो रहे 🤣🤣 #PSLFinal #Pakistan #psl #lahore — sanki_kemar (@AnkitSingh94068) May 30, 2025 The video, now viral across Twitter and Instagram, showcases a moment of pure sporting joy - but behind the glittering devices lies a story that connects straight to India's booming manufacturing landscape. Apple has quietly but significantly shifted a large chunk of its production operations to India over the past few years. The iPhone 16 series - including the luxury Pro models - are now being manufactured at Foxconn and Tata-run plants in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, as part of Apple's broader strategy to diversify beyond China. So yes, it's entirely possible (and probable) that the devices sparking joy in a Pakistani dressing room were built in India. It's a symbolic twist in the tale - one where India, often locked in regional sporting rivalries, is now becoming a key global tech supplier, even behind the scenes of its neighbour's cricketing celebrations. What was once purely a US-China manufacturing story has taken a distinct South Asian turn, with India quietly powering the gadgets that players across borders now celebrate.

Pakistani Actress Hina Khawaja Bayat SLAMS Karachi Airport Over No Water In Washrooms
Last Updated: Pakistani actress Hina Khawaja Bayat took to social media to highlight the shocking lack of water in the washrooms of Karachi International Airport. Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, veteran Pakistani actress Hina Khawaja Bayat has raised a serious concern — a lack of water at major public locations in Pakistan, including the Karachi International Airport. Sharing a video from the airport on Thursday, Hina expressed her dismay at the worsening civic conditions, urging authorities to wake up and take responsibility. 'At a time when we should be celebrating Pakistan's achievements, there's no water in the washrooms of our international airport. People are trying to perform wuzu, offer namaz, or simply take their children to the bathroom — and there's no water," she said in a video uploaded to her social media. मशहूर पाकिस्तानी अभिनेत्री हिना ख्वाजा बेयत ने हाल ही में एक बयान में देश की हालत पर चिंता जताई। उनका कहना है कि जब राष्ट्रीय गर्व के दिन भी कराची एयरपोर्ट जैसे अहम स्थानों पर वॉशरूम्स में पानी तक नहीं मिल रहा, तो फिर पाकिस्तान में 'फख़्र' का दावा किस बात का किया जा रहा है? — Anahat🇮🇳 (@AnahatSagar) May 29, 2025 She didn't hold back in her criticism of the system: 'Why are our airports, institutions, and infrastructure in such a state of disrepair? No one wants to acknowledge the failures, let alone fix them." Bayat also took a dig at the government's lofty promises: 'Everyone's talking about launching mega projects, fancy trains, and development drives. But who's looking at the basics? It's shameful that we don't even have water at one of our most prominent airports." This comes just a month after India formally suspended the Indus Water Treaty with Pakistan, following the devastating terrorist attack in Pahalgam. The symbolic and strategic move further intensified the diplomatic rift between the two nations. While Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recently extended an olive branch, stating he was 'ready to talk" with India on resolving long-standing issues, India remains firm in its stance. Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal reiterated that talks can only resume once Pakistan permanently ends its support for cross-border terrorism. 'As far as the Indus Water Treaty is concerned, it will remain suspended until Pakistan credibly and irrevocably abjures terrorism," Jaiswal said. The strong message echoes Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's earlier statement post Operation Sindoor: 'Water and blood cannot flow together." First Published:

Video: Rahul Gandhi Visits Poonch Gurdwara Targeted By Pak Shelling
Rahul Gandhi on Saturday visited Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district. The key religious site was hit by Pakistani shelling earlier this month when border tensions peaked between the two countries in the aftermath of India's Operation Sindoor. In a video shared by news agency ANI on X, Mr Gandhi, in his trademark white shirt and a pair of black pants, is seen paying obeisance at the gurdwara. #WATCH | Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir: Lok Sabha LoP and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi visited Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha in Poonch, which was hit by Pakistani shelling. (Source: Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Poonch) — ANI (@ANI) May 24, 2025 "Visited temple, gurdwara and madrassa affected by Pakistani attacks in Poonch today," the leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha wrote on X and shared a video of his visit to the region. — Rahul Gandhi (@RahulGandhi) May 24, 2025 Thirteen civilians, including two students, died in Poonch district, the worst-hit by Pakistan shelling between May 7 and 10. Mr Gandhi visited the Union Territory for the second time since 26 people were killed in the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22. Before this, he visited Srinagar on April 25 and met those who sustained injuries during the terror attack. At the time, the Congress MP also spoke with Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. On Saturday morning, the Rae Bareli MP arrived at the Jammu airport and left for Poonch in a helicopter. Soon after his arrival, Mr Gandhi visited the areas severely affected by Pakistani shelling and met the bereaved families. During his visit, he also met school students who lost two of their friends - Zain Ali and Urwa Fatima - to the Pakistani shelling in Poonch town on May 7. Consoling them, Gandhi told the students to "study hard, play hard and make lots of friends," PTI reported. He assured them not to worry, adding, "Everything will come back to normal". Besides this, he visited the families of people who died in shelling and inspected damages to houses and other religious places. — Rahul Gandhi (@RahulGandhi) May 24, 2025 During their meeting with the Congress leader, a few residents sought his intervention to enhance the compensation for their damaged houses. Post the Pahalgam terror attack, India retaliated strongly with Operation Sindoor and targeted nine terrorist sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
