When is Canelo vs Crawford? Date, fight time, undercard and how to watch

Later this year, Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez will box Terence Crawford in one of the biggest commercial fights in years. Mexican icon Canelo defends all the major super-middleweight titles in Las Vegas, where he faces arguable pound-for-pound No 1 Crawford at Allegiant Stadium – home of the Raiders NFL team. The unbeaten Crawford is a four-division world champion, having gradually worked his way from lightweight up to super-welterweight, yet this 167lb clash with Canelo will see him make a further, stark jump in weight. If he succeeds against Canelo (63-2-2, 39 knockouts), the 37-year-old American (41-0, 31 KOs) will become boxing's first three-weight undisputed champion. Meanwhile, 34-year-old Canelo is also a multi-weight champion, who recently regained undisputed status at super-middleweight, his preferred division in recent years. While this is a somewhat contrived showdown from a weight perspective, it is perhaps the biggest boxing match since Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao, 10 years ago – at least from the perspective of an American audience. It pits the face of boxing, in Canelo, against a man deemed by many as the finest boxer alive right now. Here's all you need to know. When is the fight? Canelo vs Crawford will take place on Saturday 13 September at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Timings for the event have not yet been announced, but it's likely that the main card will begin at 1am BST on Sunday (5pm PT / 7pm CT / 8pm ET on Saturday), with main-event ring walks following at 4am BST on Sunday (8pm PT / 10pm CT / 11pm ET on Saturday). How can I watch it? The event will stream live exclusively on Netflix around the world. It will be available to all Netflix subscribers globally, i.e. it will not be a pay-per-view event. Canelo Vs. Crawford Set For ‘Hated' Allegiant Stadium

The Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez vs. Terence 'Bud' Crawford superfight will take place in an appropriately grand location: Las Vegas' Allegiant Stadium. There had been a big question mark hovering over the location of the fight for weeks as Turki Alalshikh's team of promoters worked to sort out a scheduling issue with the venue. It's clear they wanted the 65,000 seat venue for their fight, but things were complicated since the bout was moved from Friday, September 12th to Saturday, September 13th. Advertisement Friday was available. Saturday? The UNLV Rebels were set to play the Idaho State Bengals at Allegiant that day. It's unclear what palms needed to be greased to clear the way for Canelo vs. Crawford, but now Ring Magazine — owned and fed a steady stream of news from Alalshikh — has announced that Allegiant will host the fight, with Ring's Manouk Akopyan calling it 'the last remaining piece of the puzzle.' That's mostly accurate. The fighters are signed. The date is set. The broadcaster is locked: Netflix will broadcast the fight for free at no extra cost to its subscribers. Now the venue is taken care of. The only questions left: what time will the fight take place? Boxing promoter and petty squabbler Oscar De La Hoya recently claimed the fight would take place early, and we've seen Turki's Riyadh Season main events take place around 3 p.m. ET in the past. Or will things be just a smidge early — 10 p.m. ET instead of 12 or 1 a.m. ET to maximize Netflix viewers? Advertisement Then there's the question of how involved UFC CEO Dana White and parent company TKO will be in the whole endeavor. White was initially announced as the main promoter by Alalshikh and the event was set to kick off Zuffa Boxing, the new boxing league partnership between TKO and Turki. All hints of that have been scrubbed from the UFC's webpage, and Alalshikh no longer namedrops White or TKO. White recently said he 'hated' the idea of holding Canelo vs. Crawford at Allegiant Stadium. 'I hate it. I hate it!' White told ESPN Desportes. 'So because I hate it so much, you know I'm gonna have to try and figure out how to make it an incredible experience inside Allegiant.' Maybe this will get Dana off his stadium-hatred? That would be useful considering the lack of arena-sized venues in key markets like Spain. Or maybe he's just falling in line with Turki's vision, lest TKO get further marginalized for this fight. Canelo Alvarez to fight Terence Crawford in Las Vegas in September

Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez will take on Terence Crawford in a Las Vegas super-fight on September 13 – with UFC president Dana White announced as the bout's co-promoter. A September showdown had been pencilled in as the pair faced off following Alvarez's lacklustre points win over William Scull last month to retain his WBC, WBA, IBF and WBO super-middleweight titles. Advertisement The date has now been firmed up, with former two-weight undisputed world champion Crawford, who has won all 41 professional contests, set to move up two divisions from light-middleweight to take on Alvarez. Terence Crawford has won all 41 of his professional contests (Isabel Infantes/PA) It has been dubbed the 'fight of the century' by chairman of Saudi Arabia's general entertainment authority Turki Alalshikh, who will promote the clash in collaboration with White. 'Turki wants to make the biggest fights that the fans want to see in boxing and this is right up my alley,' said White of a bout that is expected to land at the 65,000-seater Allegiant Stadium. 'Are you kidding me that the first boxing fight I'm going to get to promote is Canelo vs Crawford? It's literally a once in a lifetime fight.' Advertisement It was also announced that Alvarez-Crawford will be broadcast globally by Netflix at no additional cost to its 300 million-plus subscribers. Dana White will promote the bout (Kieran Cleeves/PA) 'My perfect record speaks for itself,' Crawford said. 'I am the best fighter in the world and no matter the opponent or weight class, I have always come out on top. 'On September 13, my hand will be raised once again as the world watches greatness.' Alvarez, who has won 63 and drawn two of his 67 bouts in the paid ranks and been undisputed at 168lbs since 2021, said: 'I'm ready to show once again that I am the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world.' Date for 'once in a lifetime' Canelo Alvarez v Terence Crawford fight announced as streaming giant claims rights

Boxing legends Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez and Terence Crawford will face off in a hotly anticipated bout in Las Vegas on September 13. The fight between the super-middleweight and light-middleweight champions was announced after Alvarez defeated William Scull to reclaim the 168lb undisputed crown in a unanimous decision victory last month. The contest was originally scheduled for September 12 but was moved to the following day after the venue, the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, was booked for football matches. The bout, which will be streamed on Netflix, will be Alvarez's 68th fight. He boasts a record of 63-2-2, including six straight wins, and has dominated boxing since losing to Floyd Mayweather twelve years ago. The 39-year-old has held titles across four weight groups and his only other defeat came against Dmitry Bivol in 2022. Meanwhile, Crawford, who will move up two weight classes to face Alvarez, remains undefeated in 41 fights but has only competed in five between 2020 and 2024. Following confirmation of the fight, Alvarez said: 'I'm super happy to be making history again and this time on a Riyadh Season Card that will be broadcast on Netflix. On September 13, I'm ready to show once again that I am the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world.' Crawford added: 'My perfect record speaks for itself. I am the best fighter in the world and no matter the opponent or weight class, I have always come out on top. On September 13, my hand will be raised once again as the world watches greatness.' He previously said: 'Man, we're going to see come fight time what my advantage is. 'I'm the type of guy who likes to feel my fighters out and adjust to what they're doing. 'I think that's my greatest attribute, to be able to figure out every opponent I've faced thus far. 'I'm looking to do the same come fight time when the Canelo fight happens. 'I'm going to feel great [at 168lbs]. I don't need to worry about the weight. I know I'm going to feel great.' Turki Alalshikh will join UFC president Dana White and Sela to promote the event. In a statement, White said: 'Turki wants to make the biggest fights the fans want to see in boxing and this is right up my alley. 'Are you kidding me that the first boxing fight I'm going to get to promote is Canelo vs. Crawford? It's literally a once in a lifetime fight.'
