Banksy unveils mysterious new artwork featuring image of lighthouse
Banksy has unveiled a new artwork featuring a lighthouse and the phrase "I want to be what you saw in me" at an undisclosed location. The elusive artist shared an image of the work on Instagram, showing two elderly people walking their dogs near the black-and-white mural, which depicts a lighthouse tower. A second photograph shows a blurred figure on a scooter and a graffiti tag close to the artwork. The tag appears to read "Yaze", a moniker used by Canadian graffiti artist Marco The Polo, who has cited Banksy as an inspiration. The phrase may have been taken from a song by Tennessee-based country band Lonestar, called 'Softly', which features the lyric: 'I want to be what you see in me. I want to love you the way that you love me.' Banksy has been active since the 1990s, originally creating street art in Bristol before his works began popping up in other locations. His creations have garnered significant attention, fuelling ongoing speculation about his true identity. In March, his reimagining of a famous work by the late Scottish painter Jack Vettriano sold at auction for £4.3m. 'Crude Oil (Vettriano)' was listed by Blink-182 bassist Mark Hoppus, who acquired the painting in 2011. Some have claimed that the new piece could be in the French city of Marseille, a location where French street artist Invader has brought his pixelated style. In 2024, London saw a swathe of animal-themed Banksy works including a rhino seemingly mounting a silver Nissan Micra, two elephant silhouettes with their trunks stretched out towards each other, and three monkeys that looked as though they were swinging on a bridge. Since putting one of a gorilla lifting the shutter at London Zoo, Banksy has also posted another image, of a Madonna with baby Jesus and what looks like a bullet hole. The lighthouse is his latest image.

M&S launches high-summer campaign
M&S may still be firefighting its cyberattack with online sales remaining suspended, but it's continuing to market its increasingly popular offer heavily and on Thursday unveiled its summer campaign. Dubbed Summer Like You Mean It, the new campaign has launched in stores and elsewhere, 'inviting customers to celebrate all the small things that make summer unforgettable – with style for big plans and small moments'. It's being seen across VOD, billboards, digital and social platforms, with the retailer saying the campaign should reach an estimated 7.3 million people across all channels. Its OOH presence will 'dominate London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Liverpool, and Sheffield with billboards in high impact locations, maximising visibility, alongside taxi wraps in London and Manchester'. The campaign features 10-second and 30-second AV content, set to the track All The Small Things by Blink 182, with the retailer saying the visual narrative 'reinforces our position as a leading destination for stylish, quality clothing and elevates small relatable moments into epic fashion moments'. This comes as retailers are ramping up their high-summer campaigns, buoyed by strong bookings for sunshine holidays and plenty of unexpected early sunshine in the UK itself. M&S's ad opens with a woman stepping off a plane, 'greeted by the warm, golden air of summer. A gentle breeze ripples through her hair and clothes – it's that unmistakable moment when the holiday truly begins'. She's joined by her family, with the ad moving on to a poolside scene then moving through the day to close with a sunset finale. Cue plenty of opportunities to promote not only fashion products but beauty too. In womenswear it's focusing on crochet co-ords, swimwear, shell-inspired jewellery, metallic sandals and kitten heels. In menswear we see summer suiting in lightweight linen, jacquard print shirts, banana leaf prints and Autograph leather fisherman sandals. For kids there are relaxed fits and lightweight fabrics with linen co-ords, crochet separates, tropical accessories, coastal-inspired swimwear, and poolside pieces across sunglasses and footwear. In beauty, there's own-brand summer fragrances, plus the return of the M&S Summer Beauty Bag with a selection of hero products across brands and own-brand beauty.

Edmonton comedian Lisa Gilroy promises ‘manic' energy at streaming-only Canadian Screen Awards
When Lisa Gilroy was asked to host this year's Canadian Screen Awards, she pounced at the offer like a goalie on a rebound. 'I thought maybe they made a mistake so I said yes really fast before they could take it back,' the Edmonton-born comedian says on a call from her Los Angeles home. It's a fitting attitude for a performer who says she's been open to just about every opportunity lately, from cameos in Netflix's 'Black Mirror' and a Blink-182 music video to helming Canada's biggest film and television bash on Sunday. 'I'm out here kind of saying yes to absolutely anything.' she laughs. Amid ongoing U.S.-Canada tensions fuelling protectionist talk around film and media production, Gilroy sees this weekend's Screen Awards as a chance to champion homegrown talent and the offbeat Canadian voices that shaped her — and she hopes to nudge at the politics in a 'positive, lighthearted' way. 'When push comes to shove, like (Prime Minister Mark) Carney said, we're not for sale and we're our own thing. It's an amazing moment to look at, 'Who are we? What's the kind of art we make? What's our style of comedy?'' she said, adding she was raised on Canadian staples such as 'Trailer Park Boys' and 'The Red Green Show.' Gilroy is fast becoming one of Canada's buzziest comedy breakouts, known for her cartoonish energy and taste for the absurd. Since going viral for her pandemic-era sketch videos and becoming a regular on the comedy-podcast circuit, she's landed roles in Seth Rogen's HBO comedy 'The Studio' and Hulu dramedy 'Interior Chinatown.' Next up, she'll appear in Peacock's post-apocalyptic series 'Twisted Metal' and Netflix's Jennifer Lopez–led rom-com 'Office Romance.' Gilroy says live comedy is her first love, and she credits her L.A. improv shows for opening doors to her screen career. 'If you're a director or a producer and you come and see me on stage acting like a maniac and pretending to be some sort of swamp troll that lives in a sewer and eats dogs, and you want to put me in something, then absolutely, God bless you,' she says. 'You know what you've signed up for.' Sunday's Canadian Screen Awards bash concludes three days and five awards shows of honouring the best in Canadian film, television and digital media. Gilroy says viewers can expect 'the same energy you've seen me have on podcasts, which is like, manic, unstable.' For the first time since the pandemic, the Screen Awards show won't air on any TV channels — it will instead stream live exclusively on CBC Gem. Tammy Frick, the CEO of Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television, says moving the show to streaming makes it more 'accessible' and 'flexible.' 'The way people are consuming content has changed a lot over the years, and we wanted to meet the audience at that point,' she says. 'In the linear broadcast, we were committed to 60 minutes, which was very difficult for us to present the show that we wanted. Moving to CBC Gem allows the show to breathe a little bit. Now we have 90 minutes.' Leading all contenders is Citytv's 'Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent,' with 20 nominations in the television categories, while Matthew Rankin's Winnipeg-shot dramedy 'Universal Language' tops the film side with 13 nods. 'Law & Order Toronto' executive producer Amy Cameron questioned the choice to skip a traditional TV broadcast of the Screen Awards. 'I would love for it to be on TV. I find it a bit disappointing, but you can't know why anybody's made these decisions,' she said in March after the nominations were announced. Cameron said the lack of a broadcast is a missed opportunity to celebrate Canadian talent more widely. 'I would love for a Canadian audience to recognize just how talented we are collectively as an industry here. But if they're very interested in it, they'll come and watch the stream.' Gilroy, meanwhile, says she's leaving the broadcast decisions to the powers that be and is just happy to be in the room. 'I wish I was a woman who wore a suit and had a briefcase and was the king of CBC, but I'm not. I just do what they tell me to do. And I don't want to lose this job. So streaming or TV, whatever it's going to be, I just want to celebrate Canadian talent,' she says. 'I want to be able to touch one Canadian Screen Award. I'm not even going to get to take one home, but maybe I'll get to stand next to Tom Green for one second. Maybe I'll get to make eye contact with Jason Priestley. I'm trying to just stay positive and think about those moments.' This report by The Canadian Press was first published May 28, 2025. Alex Nino Gheciu, The Canadian Press

Kourtney Kardashian's stepdaughter Alabama Barker, 19, sparks OUTRAGE over sexy photo shoot in dad's backyard
On Sunday, Travis Barker 's nepo baby Alabama Luella Barker left little to the imagination during a micro-bikini photo shoot in the backyard of his $2.8M five-bedroom house in The Oaks of Calabasas. At one point, the 19-year-old culture vulture bent over on her hands and knees to seductively pose for her Memorial Day weekend pictorial. Last July, Alabama publicly revealed she was taking some sort of GLP-1 agonist shot, but not Ozempic: 'I'm on weight-loss medication because I'm tired of being fat and photographing like a damn ogre.' Barker - who boasts 8.8M social media followers - is used to raising eyebrows online with her culturally appropriated a Blaccent but, this time, she wore waist-length peek-a-boo braids over her natural short hair. Instagram user @ commented: 'It's the braids that's the problem for me.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop 'Girl wanna be black soo bad,' Instagram user @belle_ellah wrote. 'Take those braids out now.' Instagram user @ agreed: 'Damn she really wanna be black.' '90s tramp stamp,' Instagram user @moosaysthcow49 noted. Instagram user @jhonnierose commented: 'Nowadays rich kids cosplay the ghetto.' 'Where are her parents?' Instagram user @mommawolf asked. '[Shaking my head].' Instagram user @myaloves_ commented: 'At your dad's house is wild.' Indeed, the 48-year-old Blink-182 drummer told Architectural Digest in 2022 that 'all my kids learned how to swim in this pool' in the back of the Waldo Fernandez-designed mansion. Travis also shares the home with his 21-year-old son Landon and 24-year-old stepdaughter Atiana (with ex-wife Shanna Moakler) while his second wife Kourtney Kardashian lives a block away in her $8.5M mansion in The Estates at The Oaks. The platinum-blonde teen appeared to be joined poolside on Sunday by her best friend, Jordyn Woods' younger sister Jodie. That same day, Alabama - who's named after Patricia Arquette's True Romance character - shared a TikTok of herself parading around the mansion while lip-synching to $hyfromdatre's 2022 song 6000 Degrees. Instagram user @ commented: 'It's the braids that's the problem for me' Instagram user @ agreed: 'Damn she really wanna be black' Instagram user @jhonnierose commented: 'Nowadays rich kids cosplay the ghetto' 'Kicking b**** s*** with my feet on / I ain't even gotta touch the b**** cause her babydaddy beat on her,' Barker mouthed. 'No for real beat her a** and then he sk*** on her / S*** and he might even pee on her.' The homeschooled Zoomer was clearly referring to her nemesis Bhad Bhabie, who remained with her babydaddy Le Vaughn after he allegedly gave her a black eye last July. The 22-year-old OG Crashout rapper (born Danielle Bregoli) previously accused Alabama of 'taking my man' on December 17, and she admitted to being 'misled' by the supposedly 'single' 26-year-old Le Vaughn. 'It's a very touchy situation because Travis is extremely protective of Alabama,' an insider told In Touch earlier this month of the feud. 'Up until recently, Kourtney was biting her tongue and trying to mostly stay out of it and let Travis take charge, but she's too upset to stay quiet now and wants to start making some rules and laying down the law.' The source added: 'This is a huge source of stress for them as a couple.' The platinum-blonde teen appeared to be joined poolside on Sunday by her best friend, Jordyn Woods' younger sister Jodie (L) Barker mouthed: 'Kicking b**** s*** with my feet on / I ain't even gotta touch the b**** cause her babydaddy beat on her / No for real beat her a** and then he sk*** on her / S*** and he might even pee on her' The homeschooled Zoomer was clearly referring to her nemesis Bhad Bhabie, who remained with her babydaddy Le Vaughn after he allegedly gave her a black eye last July Barker - who released her debut single, at age 11, called Our House - has released two songs in the past five months, Cry Bhabie (aimed at Bhad) and Vogue. The not-so-typical teenager made her TV debut in 2006 as a newborn baby in the second season finale of her famous family's MTV reality show, Meet the Barkers. 'I want to help the less fortunate. I also want to have multiple businesses, and I want to be an entrepreneur in general,' Alabama claimed were her life goals in 2023. 'I definitely want my own make-up line and TV show. So [those are] my goals right now. And if the music industry calls my name, I am definitely down for that too because I've been doing music and playing instruments since I was about, like, five.'
