We assure our customers, business partners, employees, and shareholders that our operations and prospects remain unchanged as we honour his legacy." Sunjay had three children—Samaira (20) and Kiaan (14) from his marriage to Karisma Kapoor, and Azarias (6), his youngest son, with his third wife Priya Sachdev. Since none of them are part of the company, they are not expected to take over leadership at this time. On top of that, both of them will reportedly receive a monthly income of Rs 10 lakh each. Although, it must be noted that the exact details of the inheritance are not officially confirmed. He then went on to marry Bollywood star Karisma Kapoor in 2003, with whom he shares two children. The couple separated in 2016. Shubh Modi, 24, and his 22-year-old sister Shagun were both on board. They were the children of renowned marble businessman Pinku Modi and were pursuing higher education abroad. Vardi Chand Menaria and Prakash Menaria, from Rundeda village in Udaipur district, were also among those who perished. A police statement said it crashed in a civilian area near the airport. Early reports suggested the plane may have come down on a hostel housing doctors. "We are ascertaining the details and will share further updates," Air India said in a statement. According to local media, the crash occurred as the aircraft was taking off from Ahmedabad airport, which is about 600 miles southwest of India's capital, New Delhi. TV visuals showed people being moved in stretchers and taken away in ambulances. Thick black smoke rose into the sky near the airport. The Boeing 787-8 aircraft was carrying 242 passengers and crew members. Air India said of these, 169 were Indian nationals; 53 were British; 7 were Portuguese; and one was Canadian.
