WhatsApp to roll out no-code AI chatbot builder: What is it, how it works
WhatsApp is testing an in-app tool to let users create AI chatbots with custom roles, traits, and avatars-no coding needed. The feature includes sharing options and is rolling out to beta users New Delhi WhatsApp is developing a new feature that will allow users to create personalised AI chatbots directly within the app, without needing to write any code. According to WABetaInfo, the tool will offer a guided, step-by-step process to build a custom AI assistant. Similar to OpenAI's Custom GPTs and Google Gemini's Gems, this new functionality is designed to tailor assistants to individual needs and preferences. Currently, creating an AI assistant requires access to Meta's AI Studio or tools on Instagram or Messenger. With this update, Meta is integrating that capability into WhatsApp to provide a seamless cross-platform experience. Custom AI chatbots on WhatsApp: How it works According to the report, the chatbot creation process begins with the user choosing a role for the AI—such as a study coach, travel assistant, or motivational companion. Users can then define personality traits like calm and thoughtful, humorous and lively, or professional and informative. Based on these selections, WhatsApp will offer smart suggestions to help shape how the chatbot communicates and behaves. An AI-generated avatar will visually represent the chatbot. Users will be able to customise this avatar to better reflect the assistant's identity. WhatsApp will also offer tailored templates aligned with the user's choices, refining the chatbot's tone, behaviour and interaction style for a more natural experience. Private or shared assistants Once the assistant is set up, it becomes fully functional within WhatsApp. By default, the chatbot remains private to its creator. However, users can share it via a unique link—through contacts, group chats, or publicly on social media. This makes the feature suitable for both personal use and broader, public-facing roles like recommendations or entertainment. The feature is currently available to selected beta testers on Android and iOS, and is expected to roll out more widely in the coming weeks.

Groban's latest starts at No. 1 on both the Classical Albums and Classical Crossover Albums charts. On both of those tallies, which focus on classical music full-lengths, Groban collects his sixth No. 1. He has now sent a total of seven titles to those lists, with only one missing the top spot. Josh Groban in Concert fell short by just one position more than two decades ago and never managed to take a turn in the spotlight. Gems also enters the Top Album Sales tally, the all-genre ranking of the bestselling full-lengths and EPs throughout the U.S. On that competitive tally, the set launches at No. 6. Google Gemini now supports uploading up to 10 files at once: Here's how users benefit
Google has introduced a major usability upgrade to its Gemini AI chatbot, now allowing users to upload up to 10 images or files simultaneously. The update, rolled out on Monday, marks a significant improvement from the previous limitation, which restricted users to just one file per prompt. It is noteworthy that the new feature is available across all platforms, including the Gemini web client and the dedicated Android and iOS applications. It is supported by all the latest general-purpose Gemini models, making the AI assistant more versatile and user-friendly. Josh Woodward, Vice President of Google Labs and Gemini, announced the update via a post on his official X account. In his statement, Woodward highlighted the enhancement and encouraged users to share feedback or suggest additional features that could improve their experience on the platform. With the latest update, users can tap the plus icon next to the text field to open their gallery or file directory. They can then select multiple files at once—either by long pressing on mobile or using Shift + click on a desktop—to upload them in a single submission. Repeated taps on the plus icon also allow for the inclusion of more files, up to the 10-item limit. Should users attempt to exceed this threshold, they will now receive a notification stating, 'Some of your files could not be uploaded because you can only upload 10 attachments at a time.' The ability to submit multiple documents in one go significantly enhances Gemini's functionality, especially for users seeking responses to queries involving several files. While similar tasks could previously be accomplished via NotebookLM or by creating Gems, the integration of this feature into the primary interface simplifies the process, particularly for quick or one-off questions.
