Hollywood Couples Who Starred Together in Films: Brad Pitt-Angelina Jolie to Ben Affleck-Jennifer Lopez
Hollywood actors have not just delivered magical and unforgettable performances as couples on screen, sometimes they live it too. In several films, fiction gently blended into reality and vice versa as directors brought Tinseltown couples together on a film's cast. With their on-screen chemistry, they gave a glimpse of their off-screen chemistry, casting a love spell on all of us. When two actors aren't just co-stars but also cosmic connections, the screen becomes a mirror of their hearts, and their love story gets etched into our memories forever. While some of these actors met on the set and fell in love, others were already blossoming as couples. Whatever the case may be, they radiated a rare magic that couldn't be directed, scripted, or rehearsed. Let's revisit the moments when Hollywood couples starred together in films and blurred the lines between real and reel. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie – Mr. and Mrs. Smith Movie Title: Mr. and Mrs. Smith Director: Doug Liman Release Year: 2005 Roles Played: Pitt played John Smith and Jolie played Jane Smith Where to Watch: Jio Hotstar Mr. & Mrs. Smith revolved around a married couple who discover they are both secret assassins and are hired to kill each other. The film's unique plot and the duo's palpable on-screen chemistry resonated with the audiences, and the film turned out to be a blockbuster. It perfectly blended romance and action genres while delving into the complexities of marriage and love. Many believe that Pitt and Jolie's romance blossomed on the sets of this film, and fans gave them the name: Brangelina. However, they did not make their relationship official until 2005. After living together for over 12 years, they filed for divorce in 2016, citing irreconcilable differences. They share six biological and adopted children. Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez – Gigli Relationship Timeline: 2002 to 2004 and 2021 to 2024, married in 2022 and divorced after two years in 2024 Movie Title: Gigli Director: Martin Brest Release Year: 2003 Where to Watch: Amazon Prime Video The film revolved around a low-ranking Los Angeles mobster who is assigned to kidnap the mentally challenged younger brother of a powerful federal prosecutor. Gigli turned out to be a dud at the box office and got bad reviews from critics, but the film marked the beginning of Lopez and Affleck's romance. They started filming for the project in 2002, and they instantly fell in love. After filing for divorce from her then-partner Cris Judd, Lopez got engaged to Affleck the same year. Their fans fondly called them Bennifer. Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor – Zoolander Relationship Timeline: 1999 to now, married in 2000 and had a brief separation between 2017 and 2022 Movie Title: Zoolander Director: Ben Stiller Release Year: 2001 Roles Played: Stiller played Derek Zoolander and Taylor played Matilda Jeffries Where to Watch: Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV Stiller and Taylor have great comedic timing and they showcased the same in the 2001 film Zoolander, which Stiller also directed. But, fate wasn't on his side as his rival, Hansel (played by Owen Wilson), unexpectedly takes the crown, leaving Derek crushed. Matilda Jeffries, played by Taylor, feels responsible for Derek's downfall as she wrote a scathing news article about him. The comedy film ends with their characters getting married and having a child. Coming to their real-life love story, the couple has been together since 1999, however, they parted ways for five years from 2017 to 2022. Despite the great chemistry, their love affair is far from perfect, and their friend Liam and Pia help them. Sedgwick and Bacon tied the knot on September 4, 1988, about 18 months after meeting on the set of PBS's adaptation of Lanford Wilson's Lemon Sky. Ben Affleck drops first major hint about reason for high-profile split from Jennifer Lopez after Hollywood stars finalise their divorce
Ben Affleck may have just dropped a major hint about the reason for his split from Jennifer Lopez after the Hollywood stars settled their divorce. Affleck, 52, spoke to MNSBC's Morning Joe on Tuesday alongside his The Accountant 2 co-star Jon Bernthal about the sequel to the 2016 film. It comes after the Good Will Hunting star and Lopez's divorce was settled in the Los Angeles Superior Court on January 6, months after she filed for the separation last August, marking the end of their two-year marriage. Speaking to MNSBC, Affleck said, "the people you love the most drive you the most crazy sometimes." Although his remark appeared telling given the timing, he was specifically referring to his The Accountant 2 character and his dynamic with his brother Braxon (Bernthal) in the action thriller. Affleck, who portrays money laundering accountant Christian Wolff, said Wolff and Braxton's shared humour is "rooted in that relationship." The actor also addressed photographs that frequently capture him looking glum in public and assured fans he is "happy". In January, a photo of Affleck appearing visibly frustrated as he spoke to police outside his home in Brentwood, California, made global headlines. While it's unclear what the actor had said to police, a source in January told Page Six law enforcement was present because neighbours had private security roaming the area, keeping residents from going into their homes. The source said Affleck was 'talking to the police about that situation,' and could eventually go to his home. His MNSBC interview comes a week after he said was Lopez "spectacular" and "an enormously important, tremendous person of a lot of integrity who I adore and am grateful to" while speaking to Entertainment Tonight. Divorce documents for Affleck and Lopez, nicknamed Bennifer by the media, showed the pair settled their divorce through mediation. Neither party had to pay the other alimony. Lopez removed Affleck from her legal name once the divorce when their divorce was finalised in February. The couple married in Las Vegas in 2022 and held a wedding celebration for family and friends the following month, following a long history. Their initial wedding was postponed in 2003 "due to the excessive media attention" and they split in 2004. Speculation of a Bennifer reunion reached fever pitch in 2021 when the pair were photographed together and later confirmed they had relinked their love that year, 20 years after Affleck first proposed to her. Affleck and Lopez met on the set of their romantic comedy Gigli in 2001, and he was featured in her Jenny From The Block music video in 2002.

Ben Affleck assures you his life isn't that interesting. Let the man get his coffee in peace
When it comes to his life as a celebrity, Ben Affleck doesn't think 'in a very careful way.' 'I'll go out and pick up the packages or deliveries and I don't really care that people are there to take my picture. And some people are probably, I guess you'd call them smarter or more strategic because they think, well: 'I don't want to be seen wearing some T-shirt or spilling some drink,'' Affleck told GQ. 'And I just think: 'Oh f**k it, man, I could give a s**t. I just want to get the coffee.'' The Oscar-winning writer, director and actor is featured on the cover of the latest issue of GQ. In a wide-ranging interview, Affleck shared his thoughts on the 'sad Affleck' memes, his professional path and private life, including his recent divorce from Jennifer Lopez. The former couple had appeared together in her documentary 'The Greatest Love Story Never Told.' Affleck explained to the publication why he agreed to join his then-spouse in the project,. 'Part of it was, 'Okay, if I'm going to participate in this, I want to try to do it in an honest way and in a way that's interesting.' Because I thought it was an interesting examination,' he said. 'Like I mentioned to you before, there are a lot of people who I think have handled celebrity more adeptly and more adroitly than I have, Jennifer among them. My temperament is to be a little bit more reserved and private than hers. As happens in relationships, you don't always have the same attitude towards these things.' 'And so I thought, Oh, this is interesting because how do you reconcile that? Because exactly what you said is true. I love and support this person. I believe in them. They're great. I want people to see that,' he added. 'And I think the thing that I said in that documentary or the piece that they used was where I said, You don't marry a ship captain and then say, 'Well, I don't like going out in the water.' You've got to own what you knew going into any relationship. And I think it's important to say that wasn't the cause of some major fracture. It's not like you can watch that documentary and go, 'Oh, now I understand the issues that these two had.' Lopez filed for divorce in August 2024, two years after they married and more than 20 years after the two first met on the set of the comedy, 'Gigli.' When it comes to their split, Affleck said 'there's no scandal, no soap opera, no intrigue.' 'The truth is, when you talk to somebody, 'Hey, what happened?' Well, there is no: 'This is what happened.' It's just a story about people trying to figure out their lives and relationships in ways that we all sort of normally do,' he said. 'The reason I don't want to share that is just sort of embarrassing. It feels vulnerable,' he added. As for three decades Affleck has unwilling spent as a central tabloid figure, he's still trying to figure out why people remain interested his 'pretty drama-free' life as a 'middle-aged guy.' 'For all the sensational stuff that gets written, if somebody sat down and talked to me about it, and I said, 'Well, this is really the experience,' their eyes would glaze over with boredom,' Affleck said. 'I've been forced into analyzing it to try to figure it out, to understand: What is it? Because naturally you go, like, 'Okay, maybe I'll just wear the same outfit every single day, so the pictures won't be distinguishable.' Or maybe: 'I'll just look like a slob,' and I'm like, nope—then you become the sad Affleck meme spilling the coffee. Which I have to say I think is kind of funny.' We remain grateful for the memes, Ben.

Snow White film review-bombed on IMDb after Rachel Zegler ‘smear campaign'
Snow White has been review-bombed so much that it's listed as one of the worst films of all time on IMDb. The film has received overwhelmingly negative reviews, with the majority of critics highlighting lead star Rachel Zegler, 23, as one of the few positives in an otherwise weak live-action Disney remake. But in recent weeks, the film has faced heightened vitriol, with many heavily criticising Zegler's off-screen personality in what has been deemed a 'smear campaign' against the 23-year-old West Side Story actor. At the time of writing, the film has a score of just 1.5 out of 10 on review aggregate site IMDb, which, it's worth noting, permits free voting for unverified users. This positions Snow White as being worse than noted turkeys including Cats, Gigli and Battlefield Earth, with 91.1 per cent of reviewers opting to rank the film one out of 10. For comparison, Snow White fares better on Rotten Tomatoes, a site that requires user verification in order to review. Here, it has an audience score of 74 per cent, which would rank as a 7.4 out of 10 on IMDb. The review-bombing arrives months after Zegler shared pro-Palestine and anti-Donald Trump posts in the run-up to the film's release. When the star shared the first official Snow White trailer on X in August 2023, she thanked her fans for their support, before adding in a separate post: 'And always remember, free Palestine.' It's been reported that she refused to delete the post after being asked to by the film's producer as well as Disney bosses. Elsewhere, after the results of the US presidential election were declared, Zegler posted: 'F*** Donald Trump' and 'May Trump supporters never know peace'. Platt reportedly pulled Zegler aside at the time and explained that she was signalling to a chunk of America that the forthcoming Disney film was not for them. This is not the first time a Disney project has been review-bombed by trolls. Star Wars series The Acolyte, which starred Black actor Amandla Stenberg, started off with a higher rating before being specifically targeted, causing the show to become the lowest-rated Star Wars project in the history of the franchise. Stenberg cited the 'vitriolic' response to the show as the reason for Disney's decision to cancel it months later. According to Deadline, the 2023 live action remake of The Little Mermaid 's Moviepilot score dipped to a 0.7 out of 10 rating. IMDb put a warning on the movie's page reading: 'Our rating mechanism has detected unusual voting activity on this title.' Meanwhile, when the first female-led Marvel movie Captain Marvel opened in cinemas in 2019, trolls review-bombed it to the extent that its Rotten Tomatoes 'Want to See' score fell to 28 per cent. Rotten Tomatoes then changed their website so that audiences couldn't submit reviews until a film or show came out.
