BBC Strictly Come Dancing 'signs up' Gladiators star after show controversy Strictly Come Dancing bosses are said to be 'in talks' with a Gladiators star for the 2025 series Gladiators' Nitro, also known as Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, is set to join the 2025 series of Strictly Come Dancing. The 36-year-old has previously graced the BBC show's dance floor. In the 2024 Christmas special, he partnered with professional dancer Nancy Xu, 33, and their performance earned them one of the highest scores of the night—an impressive 37 points for their Street/Commercial routine. The former Olympic sprinter caught the attention of the show's bosses, who are keen to have him on board for a full season of the popular dance competition, now in its 23rd year. It's hoped that he can juggle his commitments with Gladiators, which typically films over the summer months. Strictly usually kicks off in August, but contestants are confirmed weeks prior and start training immediately to build their confidence before the live shows commence. An insider also suggested that the addition of Nitro could draw a fresh audience to Strictly, as producers aim to replicate the family-friendly success of Gladiators. Strictly has faced its share of controversy and criticism in recent years, with allegations of misconduct by professional dancers and celebrity participants behaving inappropriately. Last year, Go Compare singer Wynne Evans caused a stir when he was seen touching dancer Katya Jones inappropriately. Further scandal ensued during the 2025 Strictly Live Tour when off-colour remarks made by Evans behind the scenes were leaked. Jamie Borthwick, another participant from the 2024 series, found himself embroiled in controversy this month following revelations that he used a derogatory term to describe the residents of Blackpool during the show's filming there. The previous year, Strictly was overshadowed by accusations from actress Amanda Abbington who claimed she was mistreated by professional dancer Giovanni Pernice. A BBC investigation was launched while Giovanni left the show, maintaining his innocence throughout. Strictly Come Dancing is set to grace our screens once again this year, with the familiar judging panel of Shirley Ballas, Anton Du Beke, Motsi Mabuse, and Craig Revel Horwood all confirmed to return. There's speculation that this season could be Craig's last on the show, as he previously declared he would leave after reaching 60. Craig celebrated his 60th birthday this year, leading some viewers to worry that he might bow out after the forthcoming series. Yet, it seems he may have had a change of heart regarding his departure. Love Island fans were left puzzled as they said 'MAKE IT MAKE SENSE' after two islanders were in a argument in one scene and then spotted cuddling in bed in the next Love Island fans were left puzzled during Sunday's episode over 'missing' scenes as they took to X and stated 'MAKE IT MAKE SENSE'. The episode saw the boys return home from their dates to find that the girls had been watching the whole time on a big screen in the main villa. At the start of the episode, Helena appeared extremely upset with Harry, who she has been coupled up with since the day before. Helena said she was "raging about the disrespect" fro Harry, however when it came to bedtime, she was spotted 'spooning' her partner Harry, leaving fans super confused. One fan took to X, formally known as Twitter, and said: "Helena is STILL cuddling with Harry… after what she heard tonight", while another added: "Helena why are you cuddling the man who just embarrassed you?!?!?". A third penned: "Harry and Helena spooning, Meg and Dejon spooning, MAKE IT MAKE SENSE." This follows a dramatic Love Island recoupling and dumping, after the girls picked which boy they would like to couple up with, leaving just Blue and Shea single. As the two boys were standing there, Dejon received a text which read: "Blue and Shea, you are now single. Between you both, you should now decided who should stay and who should go." In the shocking twist, the boys could not decide who should leave, leaving their fellow islanders to make the decision. After a group vote, Blue ended up being dumped from the islanders, as most of the islanders stated he had been there longer than Shea, meaning he had not had as much time to find a connection with someone. Blue was the second islander dumped already this season, following the brutal dumping of Sophie Lee, who lost her place in the villa just a day in. Despite not initially being at risk of an early exit, the motivational speaker and author was abruptly booted out of the villa after her man Harry was chosen by newly single Shakira. The shocking twist comes as Love Island bosses promised this season would be the 'most dramatic yet'. Executive producer Mike Spencer said: 'We need to keep the show fresh and exciting. After 10 years, the stats speak for themselves. The show will continue to thrive. We the producers need to stay ahead of the curve. The whole 'twists and turns' thing is about making the show fresh. We're going to give it all we've got.' Mile also said: 'If sex happens, we'll show it. The Hideaway will be open 24 hours.' Fans have been loving the drama so far with one fan commenting: 'The drama, carnage and chaos!!!! I love it', while another added: 'This season is really good, like the amount of drama and it's only been a week'. But less than a year later, the US reality star is no longer working with the label with her latest single Bulletproof released independently. However, in better news the star has reportedly bagged her own ITV2 reality show with boyfriend Chris Hughes. The romance between the pair has been going from strength to strength since they met on Celebrity Big Brother. After stunning viewers with their flirty antics in the show, the pair did not wait long to go public. The news unravelled after JoJo's heartbroken partner Kath announced on social media the morning after the afterparty that JoJo had dumped her. Kath was particularly hurt as she'd jetted to meet JoJo and was left alone in London after the snub.
