International K-Pop Fans Thrill to Prospect of BTS Reunion

Thousands of international fans of K-pop megastars BTS gathered on Friday in the suburbs of Seoul amid mounting excitement over an expected reunion of the group after its members complete mandatory service in the South Korean military. This year's BTS Festa marks the 12th anniversary of the group, which last performed together in 2022 and has not toured since 2019 because of the global pandemic and subsequent military service obligations of its members. It was unclear if any of the recently discharged performers would appear at the festival organized by the group's management agency, HYBE. But that did not dampen the enthusiasm of fans, some of whom flew in from around the world hoping to spot some of the superstars at the gathering or at a pair of solo concerts by BTS rapper J-Hope as he wraps up his "Hope on the Stage" world tour. "I want to enjoy everything because there are many things to do here and ... I hope to see the guys maybe," said Karla Linan Saucede, 33, who travelled from Mexico with her sister and friends. "It's gone past excitement and into almost being numb," said Ayla O'Ryan, 45, from Scotland, adding that she planned a visit this month to practice Korean in the capital so that she could attend. BTS' members Jimin and Jungkook discharged from the South Korean military on Wednesday, become the fifth and sixth to complete their service. Members RM and V were discharged on Tuesday and the last to finish will be Suga on June 21. While details of a reunion have not been released, the group is expected to hold its largest ever world tour in 2026, says NH Securities, one of South Korea's largest investment firms. Shares in HYBE jumped 11.3% in June as brokerages raised their sales estimates and target price for the agency ahead of the group's comeback.

BTS' RM and V thank fans as they complete military duties

10 Jun - BTS is slowly shaping up to be whole again, as members RM and V returned to civilian life once more. In the morning of 10 June, the two performers appeared in front of their fans as they ended their duties at their respective bases in Gangwon, and expressed their gratitude for the fans being there despite HYBE not hosting any special ceremony to welcome them back. Admitting that there were difficult times during the service, RM said that he is thankful to the military men who continue to serve the country. He added, "I'm a little worried about the junior soldiers I'm leaving behind, but I hope I get to see them again, all in good health." As for V, the singer said that he can't wait to repay fans for their support. "Thank you so much for waiting for us. And if you wait just a little longer, then we'll show you something so cool," said V. RM and V both enlisted in December 2023, with the former joining the military band while the latter in the military police. The two will be joining the already-discharged Jin and J-Hope, while Jimin and Jungkook will end their service on 11 June. The last to return would be Suga, who will complete his duty on 21 June. BTS Stars J-Hope, RM And Jung Kook Chart Together

J-Hope, RM, and Jung Kook all appear on the U.K.'s Official Physical Singles chart this week, with ... More solo hits "Sweet Dreams," "Lost" and "Standing Next to You," respectively. NEW YORK, NEW YORK - FEBRUARY 21: (L-R) Jimin, Jungkook, RM, J-Hope, V, Jin, and SUGA of the K-pop boy band BTS visit the "Today" Show at Rockefeller Plaza on February 21, 2020 in New York City. (Photo by Cindy Ord/WireImage) The seven members of BTS have all been busy pursuing solo ventures since the group went on hiatus several years ago. As each member of the beloved K-pop boy band takes his turn enlisting in the South Korean military — a requirement for all males in the country by a certain age — some have already completed their duty, while others are expected to finish their tour very soon. That means the world may hear from the septet again before long. With seven singers all pushing solo projects from time to time, the bandmates occasionally appear on the same rankings, sometimes separated by only a few spots. At the moment, half of the musicians in BTS occupy space on the same list in the United Kingdom with a trio of solo bestselling releases. Three of the seven members currently appear on the Official Physical Singles chart, which specifically ranks the bestselling individual tunes in formats such as CD, vinyl, or cassette. This week, J-Hope is the highest-ranking of the three. He lands at No. 28 alongside Miguel with their collaboration "Sweet Dreams," which slips from No. 13 to No. 28. 13 spaces further down comes band leader RM. His track "Lost" recently returned to the tally, and this time it jumps from No. 50 to No. 36. Jung Kook joins his BTS bandmates on the Official Physical Singles ranking with his track "Standing Next to You' as the tune reenters the list at No. 62. Of the three hits, "Standing Next to You" is the only one that has missed out on ruling the roster. Jung Kook's solo win peaked at No. 2 when it debuted in that position in November 2023. So far, that marks its only turn inside the top 10. Both "Sweet Dreams" and "Lost" launched in first place. While Jung Kook's cut may be the lowest-peaking of the bunch, it has spent the most time on this tally. "Standing Next to You" has racked up 19 stays on the Official Physical Singles chart. That's longer than both "Lost" and "Sweet Dreams" combined. RM's track has only managed three appearances, and this frame marks the milestone tenth for "Sweet Dreams" on this roster.

J-Hope Scores At The Box Office, Earning A Top 10 Movie — After One Night

J-Hope's Hope on the Stage live viewing earns $4.1 million globally, breaking into the U.S. box ... More office top 10 for the May 30 to June 1 weekend. (Photo by) J-Hope has spent 2025 releasing solo smash after solo smash, with only short breaks in between his drops. He has scored several new Hot 100 hits in just the past few months, and he has a new tune coming soon — one that will likely become a charting success as well. The BTS singer and rapper hasn't limited himself to streaming platforms and digital download storefronts when looking for commercial success. The South Korean musician recently appeared in cinemas around the world with a one-night-only event — one that helped him secure one of the top theatrical wins at the box office. The BTS superstar recently released his film J-Hope Tour: 'Hope on the Stage' in Japan - Live Viewing. The one-night-only event brought fans of the singer-songwriter and rapper together in theaters around the globe to watch live as he performed from Osaka during one of the final dates of his solo trek, the Hope on the Stage Tour. Despite the fact that the live viewing took place during just one evening, it still managed to bring in an impressive sum at the box office and stand out as a top performer. According to Box Office Mojo, J-Hope's film earned just under $940,000 at the box office in the U.S. alone. That figure is enough for the movie to land at No. 10 on the list of the highest-grossing films in America during the weekend of May 30 through June 1. When looking globally, the live viewing brought in just over $4.1 million. More than three-quarters of that figure coming from territories outside the U.S. J-Hope claims the third loftiest debut on the ranking of the top-grossing films in America during that weekend. He lands behind new arrivals Karate Kid: Legends and Bring Her Back, which brought in $20.3 million and $7 million, respectively. The weekend's grosses were still dominated by the live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch, which led the charge for a second consecutive frame with nearly $62 million. The last installment of the Mission: Impossible franchise holds steady at No. 2 with $27.2 million. A top-grossing film is just another feather in J-Hope's cap, proving that 2025 is a huge year for him. He has already accrued three Hot 100 hits, upping his career total considerably with "LV Bag" alongside Don Toliver, Speedy, and Pharrell Williams, "Sweet Dreams" with Miguel and his own "Mona Lisa" — all of which spent time on the tally. Later in June, he will drop "Killing It Girl" featuring rapper GloRilla, which will almost certainly become a hit across a variety of Billboard rankings, especially those focused on hip-hop.
