Watch as the Star of ‘Murderbot' Finally, Begrudgingly Learns How to Speak Human
As Murderbot fans have realized by now, the titular SecUnit robot would much, much rather check the perimeter or binge-watch trashy soap operas than interact with the humans in its care. Do not expect eye contact! But as we're in the second half of the season, the self-aware AI and its team have bonded a bit as they've endured some major danger together—and it's not over yet. In episode six, we saw Murderbot abruptly eliminate the 'hostile' who was only pretending to be the sole survivor of a mysterious attack on another human team surveying the same far-flung but apparently not so deserted planet (RIP, Leebeebee, you boundary-pushing backstabber). It had no choice, really, but the sudden burst of violence was a startling display for the gentle souls hailing from Preservation Alliance. In this week's episode, 'Complementary Species,' the group realizes the manufactured habitat they've been calling home is no longer safe, so they gather up their things and prepare to go into hiding. But as you'll see in this clip, they're dilly-dallying a bit, so Murderbot—who they're still newly afraid of following the Leebeebee thing—offers encouragement both stern and soft. Well, soft-er, anyway. Find out what happens next when Murderbot episode seven arrives Friday, June 20 on Apple TV+.

‘Kuberaa': All you need to know about the Dhanush, Nagarjuna and Rashmika Mandanna film
The upcoming crime drama, Kuberaa, which has made heads turn with its ensemble cast and a slickly cut trailer, is releasing in UAE theatres on June 20. Here's what we know about the film and why we believe you must watch it. Kuberaa is directed by the Telugu filmmaker Sekhar Kammula, who made the critically acclaimed Dollar Dreams, Happy Days and Fidaa. Known for casting newer faces with impactful storylines, Kammula this time changes tack with some of Indian cinema's biggest faces. And that's a primary reason why you must take note. Rashmika Mandanna, who's headlined recent blockbusters such as Pushpa and its sequel Pushpa 2, Vaarisu, Animal and Sikandar, is its heroine. Actor-filmmaker Dhanush, who last produced and directed the rom-com Nilavukku Enmel Ennadi Kobam, and Telugu superstar Nagarjuna are the lead actors. Jim Sarbh, Sayaji Shinde, Sunaina and Dalip Tahil round off its cast. Mandanna's box office successes didn't go unnoticed. During the audio launch of the movie, Nagarjuna called her a 'powerhouse of talent', ANI reported, underlining that her starring in blockbusters in recent years was owing to her hard work. Dhanush, during a pre-release event, expressed his desire to direct the Telugu superstar-politician Pawan Kalyan, according to The Times of India. The movie's trailer, which released to much fanfare recently, sees Dhanush and Nagarjuna, among India's versatile actors, facing off against each other. Dhanush plays a beggar out on the streets, while Nagarjuna's role is that of a executive at a big conglomerate, who gets to mentor Dhanush. Nagarjuna's character believes money and influence are crucial to life, eventually pitting him against his mentee. Mandanna plays Dhanush's love interest in the movie. The film's makers revealed that Dhanush filmed for nearly 12 hours near a dumpyard, in line with his character. Devi Sri Prasad, who composed the tunes for Pushpa and Pushpa 2, returns to compose the music for Kuberaa, produced by Suniel Narang and Puskur Rammohan Rao of Amigos Creations. Nagarjuna last starred in 2024's period action-drama Naa Saami Ranga and plays a key role in Rajnikanth's Coolie, set to release in August 2025. Dhanush, who was last seen in the critically acclaimed action-drama Raayan, which he wrote and starred in, will next act in Aanand L. Rai's Tere Ishk Mein, opposite Kriti Sanon. Kuberaa will release in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam.

Longest day of the 2025 nears. What to know ahead of summer solstice.
Things are getting hot across the country, and summer has not even officially begun. The summer solstice will occur on Friday, June 20, and it will be both the longest day and shortest night of 2025 in the Northern Hemisphere, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). The summer solstice also marks the start of the Pagan holiday, Litha, also known as Midsummer, according to the Boston Public Library. The holiday celebrates the beginning of summer and is celebrated with hilltop bonfires and dancing. With the summer solstice near, here is everything people need to know about the grand occasion. The summer solstice will take place on Friday, June 20, at 10:42 p.m. ET, according to The summer solstice marks the beginning of summer in the Northern Hemisphere. Meanwhile, the Southern Hemisphere will greet winter with its winter solstice. "The Northern Hemisphere's tilt toward the Sun is greatest on this day," according to NASA. "This means the Sun travels its longest, highest arc across the sky all year for those north of the equator." During the summer solstice, the tilt brings the Earth's northernmost point closer to the sun, resulting in more sunlight. The solstice itself only lasts moments, according to the Old Farmer's Almanac. The date of the summer solstice can fall at any point between June 20 and June 22, depending on the year, according to the NWS. In 2024, the solstice fell on Thursday, June 20. Several locations around the world are particularly known for celebrating the solstice, including Newgrange in Ireland. Solstices are often associated with pagan religions and draw revelers of different faiths. One of the most famous solstice celebrations takes place at the ancient Stonehenge ruins in Wiltshire, England, where many gather to herald the season. Pagans come by the thousands to Stonehenge, the prehistoric ruins of a monument built between approximately 3100 and 1600 BC. It is one of the most famous landmarks in the UK, but little is known about the civilization that built it or why, as these ancient peoples left no written records behind. Many theories exist as to the original purpose of Stonehenge, including the following: A burial site An astronomical observatory A religious or worship site A sort of gesture or symbol A place of ritual or healing Regardless, it has been the subject of many myths, stories and folklore. It was during the 20th century that Stonehenge became a site of religious significance to people who subscribed to New Age beliefs, including Neopaganism and Neo-Druids, according to USA TODAY's previous reporting. When constructed, the stone circle was aligned with the sun, and to this day, thousands of people gather to witness the moment the sun peeks perfectly through its pillars. Move over Ray-Ban, Oakley Meta glasses are arriving this Friday
Oakley TL;DR The Oakley Meta glasses are set to arrive on June 20. The smart glasses will be similar in functionality to the Ray-Ban Meta AI Glasses and are expected to be geared toward athletes. While Meta is also working on more advanced smart glasses with built-in displays, this Oakley-branded version is expected to skip the display. Oakley and Meta have announced that 'The next evolution is coming on June 20.' This strongly suggests that the two brands are finally ready to unveil the long-awaited and much-rumored successor to the Ray-Ban Meta AI Glasses. Both Oakley and Meta have begun teasing the upcoming release on their social media channels. Meta has also launched a sign-up page for those who want to be notified as soon as the glasses are officially released. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Oakley | Meta (@oakleymeta) Although the companies haven't revealed details about the design, specs, or features of the new glasses, their collaboration was previously leaked via Bloomberg. Reportedly codenamed Supernova 2, the new smart glasses will likely offer similar functionality to the Ray-Ban Meta Glasses. While Meta is also working on more advanced smart glasses with built-in displays, this Oakley-branded version is expected to skip the screens. Instead, the Oakley Meta glasses are expected to be geared toward athletes and are said to be based on the Oakley Sphaera model (pictured above). Notably, the design of the new glasses could include a centrally positioned camera instead of the side-mounted style we saw on the Ray-Bans. This change is meant to enhance usability for cyclists and other athletes. Since major hardware upgrades aren't expected, the Oakley Meta glasses will likely be priced similarly to the current Ray-Ban Meta Glasses, starting at approximately $299. Fortunately, we don't have to wait much longer to see exactly what Oakley and Meta have been working on.

Meta and Oakley tease a smart glasses announcement for June 20
Reports emerged earlier this year that Meta was working with Oakley on smart glasses and it seems we're about to see the fruits of those labors. A new Instagram account called @oakleymeta has popped up and its first post teased an announcement for this Friday (June 20). Instagram's own official account and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg shared the clip on their stories, as did Oakley on its social channels, so this is legit. The end of the video shows the Oakley and Meta logos side by side in a very similar fashion to the branding for the Ray-Ban Meta glasses. Meta's web store has a banner with the same text used in the teaser — "The next evolution arrives June 20" — and an option to sign up for updates on products, news and innovations. So, unless this is a bait and switch, we'll probably see Oakley Meta glasses this week. Of course, Oakley and Ray-Ban share a parent company in EssilorLuxottica. Earlier this year, Bloomberg reported that a set of smart glasses based on Oakley's Sphaera glasses was on the way. The camera in the Ray-Ban Meta glasses is set in one of the sides of the frame, but it's expected to be in the centre of the Oakley Meta glasses. These new smart glasses are said to be aimed at cyclists and other athletes, perhaps to try and challenge GoPro in the action sports market.
