Video: Phone explodes inside woman's pocket in Brazil

ALBAWABA - Anápolis, Brazil has witnessed a horrifying incident recently when a cellphone exploded in a woman's back pocket leaving her hospitalized with second and third-degree burns.
The clip showcased a woman shopping inside a grocery market with her partner, and then her back pocket suddenly caught on fire causing damage to her body and part of her hair. The woman then ran out of the store in panic, where she received aid from bystanders.
Mateus Lima, the unnamed woman's husband told Brazilian news outlet G1, that he tried putting the fire away using his shirt. He added that his partner ended up traumatized from the incident in question.
Lima said, "She is quite traumatized. I speak more to raise awareness because many people have children and this is very dangerous."

A study shared by Stanford University suggests that devices such as phones, laptops, and electronics can generate excess heat due to the Lithium batteries installed inside them. The study further advises users to use original chargers and refrain from covering devices in cloth while charging.
