Not Uttar Pradesh, Discover The Real Location Of Web Series Panchayat's Phulera Village
A recent viral post on X (formerly Twitter) has reignited public interest in Mahodiya, the real-life village in Madhya Pradesh where the popular web series Panchayat was filmed. While the fictional village of "Phulera" is depicted as being in Uttar Pradesh, fans may be surprised to learn that the actual filming location is Mahodiya, situated in Sehore district. X user Shubhendu, who amusingly mentions in his bio that he doesn't watch web series, took a detour to Mahodiya and shared a detailed photo thread from the now-famous locations featured in Panchayat, whose fourth season was recently released and is performing well on OTT platforms. The Panchayat Office — Sachiv ji has left the office (and village) after scoring 97 percentile in CAT. 3/9 — Shubhendu (@BBTheorist) June 26, 2025 Among the highlights he posted were images of the iconic Panchayat office (bearing the real name "Gram Panchayat Mahodiya"), the now-famous road from the series, the village temple, library, water tank, and Pradhan Ji's house. One caption read: "This road can make people win or lose elections. Hopefully the new MLA will release money for the road to be built." The Water Tank — No lovebirds spotted. Also, I think Bhushan, his wife, Binod & Madhav did a stellar job cleaning the area around water tank before the elections. 5/9 — Shubhendu (@BBTheorist) June 26, 2025 He also shared a photo of the local hospital used in the show, humorously captioning it as "The Battle of Phulera was fought here." He even speculated, "Who knows, maybe Pradhan Ji got someone to fire the shot. He's a bit of a cunning type." His post has since gone viral, crossing over 1 million views and attracting thousands of fan comments, further solidifying Mahodiya as a new tourist hotspot for fans of the series. Asking for more images, one user asked Shubhendu, "Could you spot Vidhayak ka ghar, Sitaara, the horse, BumBahadur's pigeon farm, and Vikaas ka ghar, writing on the wall 'do bache meethi kheer, usse jyada bawaseer?'" "Very nice... Missing the solar lamp (at Panchayat Office & Pradhan res) & washing area, though," wrote another user.

Fatehabad to Sindoorpuram, Badshahi Bagh to Brahma Bagh: Agra zila panchayat proposes changes in names
The Agra zila panchayat has proposed to change the names of Fatehabad to Sindoorpuram and the Badshahi Bagh area of the town to Brahma Bagh, said officials on Thursday. The resolution was passed during the zila panchayat's board meeting on June 23 unanimously. The proposal was put forth by zila Panchayat chairperson Manju Bhadoria in the meeting. 'It will now be sent to the state government for approval for a final decision,' Bhadoria told The Indian Express. Bhadoria said the new names were decided to celebrate the success of Operation Sindoor. 'It is also to honour those who lost their lives in the Pahalgam terror attack and our forces. This came to our mind that Fatehabad constituency is a symbol of slavery and so the name be changed to Sindoorpuram from Fatehabad,' said the chairperson. She also said before 1658, Fatehabad was known as Samugarh. 'Aurangzeb changed the name to Fatehabad after he won in the battle. In Samugarh, Aurangzeb also built Badshahi Bagh. We have also proposed that the name of Badshahi Bagh be changed to Brahma Bagh on the name of the Lord Brahma or the BrahMos Missile,' Bhadauria said. 'We want every resident of Agra to understand the significance of the operation Sindoor. It was unanimously passed by all the 51 members of the constituency,' she added.

Panchayat Season 4 Review: Still simple, still sincere — The fourth season delivers more of the same
Story: Election fever grips Phulera as both Manju Devi and Kranti Devi pull out all the stops to win over voters. Meanwhile, Abhishek Tripathi is on edge—worried and anxious about the counter FIR filed against him, fearing it could derail his business school admission. Review: While 'Panchayat' still carries its signature charm and simplicity, it's clear the new season treads familiar ground. The show continues its format of building entire episodes around small incidents, often without contributing to a larger narrative arc. There's little in terms of story progression, but the appeal lies in the mood it creates and the quirks of Phulera's residents. Creative fatigue shows, especially in the fifth episode featuring Manju Devi's father—a subplot that adds absolutely nothing to the story. Yet, the show remains watchable, thanks to its rooted setting and the comfort it offers. Our emotional investment in the characters keeps us going even when not much actually happens. This season opens with Abhishek Tripathi (Jitendra Kumar) under pressure after Bhushan (Durgesh Kumar) files an FIR against him for slapping him. He's visibly anxious that the case could affect his CAT results and ruin his chances at business school. His attempt to apologize doesn't go as planned, and even when accepted, it comes with strings attached. Meanwhile, the ex-MLA, Chandrakishore Singh (Pankaj Jha), scrambles to uncover the shooter who targeted Pradhan Ji (Raghubir Yadav), as he too is implicated. Election fever peaks in Phulera, with Manju Devi (Neena Gupta) and Kranti Devi (Sunita Rajwar) using every trick in the book—from cleaning toilets to distributing free tomatoes—to woo voters. Pradhan Ji's group is dealt a blow when Vikas's (Chandan Roy) property purchase triggers a raid. Adding to the churn, the local MP (Swanand Kirkire) offers Prahlad (Faisal Malik) a ticket after Chandu's removal from the party. Season four centers on the rivalry between the factions of Pradhan Ji and Bhushan. Tensions rise with the approaching elections. Abhishek is assaulted by Chandu's men; Bhushan informs on Vikas, leading to the raid. In a bid to shift loyalties, Pradhan Ji invites Binod for dinner. The season plays out like a series of loosely linked village episodes rather than a tightly woven plot. While this may seem like a flaw, it also allows the show to retain its slice-of-life appeal. The beauty of the show lies in the texture and rhythm of village life it captures, and the show remains grounded in its depiction of a small UP town village. Its biggest strength continues to be its simplicity. Performances remain consistently strong. Jitendra Kumar as Abhishek Tripathi is still chasing his future, battling anxiety about his CAT test results. His slow-burn connection with Rinki (played by Sanvikaa) stays in sync with the laid-back pace of the village. Vikas and Prahlad remain loyal to Pradhan Ji, determined to ensure Manju Devi's win. On the other side, Bhushan, Binod, and Madhav are equally focused on discrediting Pradhan Ji and pushing Kranti Devi forward. The character dynamics haven't changed much, but they continue to feel familiar and engaging. The season ends on an open note, making it unclear whether another one is planned. It could end here, or continue. Despite relying on the same patterns, 'Panchayat' remains a comfort watch. It captures a world where people are driven by genuine concerns—whether it's Bhushan offering to arrange an electrician for the faulty transformer or Abhishek running to get water after Bhushan is injured. The show doesn't aim for grand twists or emotional highs. It's gentle, lived-in, and this season is no different—just don't expect major plot developments.
