Texas passes House Bill 908 to enhance child protection laws
AUSTIN (KFDX/KJTL) — Texas lawmakers are taking the next step in safeguarding children. House Bill 908 was read on the house floor Wednesday morning, April 2, 2025. MSU's Suzanne Lindt receives distinguished TTU research award It passed favorably but will be voted on Thursday, April 3, or for a third reading recorded vote before heading to the Senate. Representative David Spiller presented the bill on the House floor. Glenda Durham, a Bowie resident, authored it and testified at the capitol on March 12. As somebody who has been turned down for a missing kids report in her family, she said this passage shows lawmakers value children. 'No more will families be turned away. The systems will be followed as they should. And it's no longer a subjective assessment by a disinterest, a police officer. And I'm not knocking our police. I appreciate our police. But when it comes to missing kids, they need to report it to every agency available,' Durham said. Durham hosts a missing kids prayer group every Saturday. Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes reveals new Texas Tech baseball uniforms
The start of baseball season is in the air at all levels. The spring season introduces new looks for the Texas Tech Red Raiders team, courtesy of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The Texas Tech baseball team revealed its new uniforms on Wednesday evening, and Mahomes modeled them on social media. According to the post, the 'Texas Tech Baseball Strategy Uniform' will be on the field for players starting March 21st and available in stores. His logo can be seen on the uniform, which is also sponsored by Adidas, continuing the trend throughout the school's athletic program. The new baseball uniforms bring a modern edge while staying true to the school's traditional style. The jersey is all black, featuring the word "TECH" across the chest. The red lettering with platinum-style chrome numbers gives it an eye-popping shine. The white pants are standard with a black and red stripe on the side.
