Juventus Only Committed to Tudor for a Few Months
After a week of deliberation, the Juventus management changed their mind, sacked Thiago Motta, and appointed Igor Tudor. The U-turn took place a couple of days a meeting between their CEO and the owner and a heated confrontation between part of the brass of the coach. According to TuttoSport, the Bianconeri will have their hands free in the summer. The Croat inked a contract until June 30 with a one-year option triggered by the qualification to the Champions League. On the other hand, the team has an ulterior clause to rescind it by July 30th. Therefore, Tudor could potentially be replaced after leading Juventus in the Club World Cup. The dismissal of Thiago Motta costs €20M at the moment, but it'll depend on whether he gets hired elsewhere and a possible agreement on a severance package. Per Alfredo Pedullà, the ex-Lazio and Olympique Marseille manager was always in the lead. He's a lot less expensive than Roberto Mancini. The talks with the Italian boss didn't go far. The firing was amply justifiable by the poor results and the season-long rollercoaster. If they weren't going to confirm him for next season, which would have been a blind act of faith, and they have too much at stake for that, it makes sense to axe him now. It's unclear why it took a week, but it doesn't make a big difference since most of their players were on international duties. Perhaps they needed the green light from the owner or wanted to see how their now ex-gaffer reacted to the situation and criticism. It looks like he wasn't willing to compromise on his beliefs or methods whatsoever.

Report: Nottingham Forest eye £40m move for Juventus midfielder
Nottingham Forest's interest in Douglas Luiz is no passing flirtation. It's a strategic pursuit guided by new sporting director Edu Gaspar, whose admiration for the Brazilian dates back to his days at Arsenal. Back then, Edu attempted – and failed – to bring Luiz to North London. Now, with greater sway and a clearer pathway at Forest, he may finally land his man. TuttoSport reports that Forest had already approached Juventus during the January window, only to be turned away. At the time, Juventus weren't ready to part with a player they'd invested heavily in—£28 million in cash and the promising pair of Enzo Barrenechea and Samuel Iling Jr. The total package was reportedly valued at £50 million. But the sheen has worn off, and the cracks are showing. Luiz's time at Juventus has been mired in disappointment, punctuated by muscle injuries and tactical mismatches. 'So much so that many insiders have already branded the 1998 class as a flop,' the report stated bluntly. The underlying issue appears to be a lack of chemistry with Juve boss Thiago Motta. From pre-season through to spring, Luiz has been used sparingly, often watching from the bench. This, despite his 2023/24 Premier League inclusion in the 'Top 11'—a badge of quality earned during a standout season at Aston Villa under Unai Emery. 'The feeling between the Juventus coach and one of the main signings of the transfer campaign… has never blossomed,' TuttoSport observes. For a player who thrives on rhythm and confidence, being on the fringes has done Luiz no favours. As he battles back from injury, his immediate goal is to be fit for the Genoa clash. Whether he convinces Motta in time for a Champions League push remains uncertain. What's more likely is that this summer will bring serious reflection—and potentially, relocation. Forest's pursuit of Luiz is not just about romantic reunions or smart shopping. It signals intent. Edu wants to future-proof the midfield with players capable of dictating tempo and raising standards. Should Forest secure European football, Luiz could be a key figurehead for a new era. Negotiations have quietly resumed with Kia Joorabchian, Luiz's agent and a key conduit in this proposed deal. 'The satisfactory landing point for everyone could be that of an onerous loan with an obligation to buy under certain conditions,' claims TuttoSport. At a valuation of around £40 million, Juventus are keen to avoid recording a capital loss, while Forest—well-backed financially—see it as a worthwhile investment. A structured deal could suit all parties. Luiz remains a high-ceiling player. His blend of physical presence, ball retention, and incisive distribution once had him earmarked as a midfield general. That profile hasn't vanished—it's just been obscured by tactical misalignment and poor timing. At 26, Luiz still has peak years ahead. Returning to the Premier League in a system that trusts him could be exactly the restart he needs. Forest would gain not only a technical midfielder but one with the fire to prove people wrong. 'Douglas does not accept [the flop label] and is having a hard time digesting [it]. For this reason he is working intensely to recover from the muscle injury,' TuttoSport noted. The final chapter of Luiz's Italian sojourn may soon close. Nottingham Forest, quietly ambitious and astutely managed, could well be the ideal setting for his renaissance. From a Forest fan's perspective, this potential transfer feels significant—not just for its ambition, but for its symbolism. We've seen the club evolve from relegation battlers to contenders eyeing Europe. Bringing in someone like Douglas Luiz would be a statement that Forest are no longer merely surviving in the Premier League—they're building. There'll be scepticism, of course. Some may ask: why bring in a player deemed surplus at Juve? But the answer lies in context. Luiz didn't fit Motta's setup—it's not a question of quality. He showed what he could do at Villa, controlling games, scoring key goals, and putting in the hard graft. He was elite last season, and that doesn't vanish overnight. Edu knows his profile inside out and wouldn't chase him again without full confidence. It feels like a reunion waiting to happen—built on trust, timing, and tactical clarity. If Forest pull this off, it might just be one of the smartest moves of the summer window.

Vlahovic Snubs Fenerbahce and Juventus Offers, Eyes EPL
Dusan Vlahovic returned to the starting lineup and the stat sheet after a couple of months versus Cagliari, relieving Randal Kolo Muani who had quickly supplanted him after joining Juventus. Thiago Motta will keep relying on both down the stretch, perhaps simultaneously. However, the future of the Serb will most likely be away from Turin, TuttoSport informs. The marksman had the chance to move to Saudi Arabia in January. José Mourinho is trying to lure him to Fenerbahce now. The Turkish team would be able to guarantee his €12M salary. However, the courtship of the Special One hasn't broken through. The center-forward prefers more alluring destinations. In particular, he wants a move to the Premier League, where his wages wouldn't be too cumbersome. Juventus director Cristiano Giuntoli had stated that he'd touch base with the Vlahovic camp in February, but it hasn't happened yet. There don't seem to be the premises for an agreement. The director had proposed a new four-year contract with an €8/9M annual salary, therefore with a fairly sizeable pay cut, but the offer was rebuffed. The talks haven't continued afterward. The 25-year-old has recorded 14 goals and 2 assists in 31 matches this campaign. Even though Kolo Muani is on loan, the Bianconeri probably wouldn't have signed a top-notch striker and would have settled for a deputy in January if they thought they had good chances of keeping their no.9 long-term. They can play together in a 4-3-3 or a 4-4-2 with the right midfield. However, they have so many good wingers that it'd be hard to exclude three of them each time.

Juventus Ramp Up Their Efforts to Agree to Key Renewal
Weston McKennie has gone from outcast to centerpiece for the second summer in a row, and Juventus are ready to hand him a long-term contract extension after concurring to only bridge deals in previous years, TuttoSport informs. The USMNT staple has started in nine consecutive Serie A games. He has handled a plethora of roles. In addition to his natural one as a central midfielder, he has starred as a fullback on both wings and as a no.10. He has helped Thiago Motta navigate the absences. He has traded places with Teun Koopmeiners in the last couple of fixtures to better exploit his channel runs. The gaffer even handed him the captain's armband occasionally. It remains to be seen whether it'll be his permanent collocation but, in the meantime, the Juventus execs have started discussing a renewal with the McKennie camp. His current deal expires in 2026, while the new one could run until either 2028 or 2029. The versatile contributor will enjoy a pay bump from €2.8M to €3.5M. He was supposed to move to Aston Villa in the Douglas Luiz deal last summer. Afterward, Galatasaray and Everton made waves to sign him, but he rebuffed them. He wasn't part of the group in the early stages of the pre-season preparation as he was on his way out. He was reinstated after his exit fell through and has been remarkably consistent. It's about time to cut the charade and lock him down, as he has proven his worth time and time again, even more so under a coach who likes to move pieces around.
