Wolfe Research downgrades Equinix on valuation concerns after strong rally

-- Wolfe Research downgraded data center operator Equinix Inc (NASDAQ:EQIX) to Peer Perform from Outperform given a limited near-term upside following a sharp rally in the stock and stretched valuation compared to peers. 'We think our profit taking in EQIX could prove particularly early if the economy weakens, as the company's topline growth is far less economically sensitive than in most commercial real estate sectors,' Wolfe analysts wrote, but added that 'price discovery on relative growth' now makes further multiple expansion difficult. Equinix currently trades at 24 times 2025 AFFO (adjusted funds from operations), a 27% premium to Wolfe's REIT coverage group, compared to a historical average premium of 16%. Wolfe still expects steady earnings from Equinix, driven by consistent pricing growth in its core retail data center business. However, growth in Q2 will appear weaker due to the timing of recurring capex and a step-down in non-recurring revenue, which surged late last year and now presents tough comparisons. Wolfe also flagged modest medium-term earnings pressure from higher debt costs, after the company recently issued €1.5 billion in debt at a higher rate than its expiring notes. While noting Equinix's topline is relatively resilient in weaker economic environments, Wolfe said the valuation already reflects that defensive profile. It also highlighted the company's upcoming analyst day on June 25 as a potential catalyst, particularly regarding updates on its xScale 2.0 wholesale joint venture. 'Further near term multiple expansion could be challenging,' the analysts said, pointing to both sector dynamics and the broader rally in data center REITs since late 2023. Ginny and Georgia: Who is Ty Doran? Meet the actor playing Wolfe

Netflix's Ginny & Georgia is finally back for a third season and with a new season comes a new love interest for Ginny. Yes to all the Marcus and Ginny lovers out there, get ready to have your heart broken (at least for a few episodes) as there's a new man in Ginny's life. The new character was confirmed all the way back in September last year, but we've had to wait until now to meet him and know more about his role. So if you're just as curious as us, then here's everything to know about new Ginny & Georgia cast member Ty Doran who plays Wolfe. We first meet Wolfe early on in season three of Ginny & Georgia, when Ginny attends a poetry class out of town that her dad Zion signed her up to. Unlike Ginny, he's not exactly a natural poet but the pair seem to get on. In episode four of the series they start to get to know each other more on a romantic level. As the episodes develop they start to get more serious and Wolfe doesn't judge Ginny when he finds out her mum is Georgia and on trial for murder. The pair go to a house party and end up having sex in the laundry room. Following this Ginny discovers she is pregnant. She tells Wolfe, who does not have the best reaction, telling Ginny "that's wild", leaving her to face her abortion alone. After she has her abortion, Ginny decides to end things with Wolfe, but still wants to maintain their friendship, which he seems onboard with. Introducing Ty Doran, the 27-year-old plays teenager Wolfe in the new series of Ginny & Georgia. Before starring in the Netflix series, you'll most likely recognise Ty from his role as Cal Stone in Manifest. He's also had roles in the series All Night, American Crime, Chicago Fire and The Blacklist. Ty has just over 110,000 followers on his Instagram, where he regularly posts about Ginny & Georgia, including the announcement of his casting. He posted the announcement back in September 2024 and captioned the post: "Get ready for some absolute shenanigans." And he wasn't lying, there's a lot of shenanigans where Wolfe is concerned. Ginny and Georgia season three is available on Netflix now

Former Chch man pleads guilty to sex trafficking charges in the US

A Christchurch-born man has pleaded guilty to multiple sex trafficking charges in a United States federal court. Pornographer Michael James Pratt, the owner of adult website GirlsDoPorn, had been awaiting trial after he initially pleaded not guilty following his arrest and extradition from Spain to the United States, the New Zealand Herald reported. He pleaded guilty in San Diego on Thursday. In his plea agreement, the Herald reported Pratt pleaded guilty to conspiracy to sex traffic and sex trafficking. He is due to be sentenced on September 8. Prior to being arrested at a Spanish hotel in 2022, Pratt, 42, was on the FBI's top 10 most wanted list. The Herald reported the summary of charges states that sex trafficking conspiracy carries a maximum penalty of life in prison and a $250,000 fine. The charge of sex trafficking carries a mandatory minimum penalty of 15 years in prison and a maximum penalty of life in prison and a US$250,000 ($414,000) fine. Pratt was charged in October 2019 in California with sex trafficking crimes in connection with a scheme to deceive and coerce young women to appear in pornographic videos, the Herald reported. He liquidated his assets and fled the United States in mid-2019. Pratt was one of five co-defendants in the case. Three have been sentenced to prison, while a fourth awaits sentencing, the Herald reported. Christchurch pornographer shamed in court His childhood friend from Christchurch, Matthew Isaac Wolfe, was jailed for 14 years in March last year for tricking scores of women into becoming porn stars. Wolfe had claimed in court that he was effectively forced to go and work for his friend after the February 22, 2011, earthquake in Christchurch. Pratt and Wolfe met at primary school in Christchurch. While they attended different secondary schools - Christchurch Boys' High and Burnside High respectively - they remained friends. Ruben Andre Garcia, who was recruited by Pratt in 2013 and was the male model who engaged in sex acts on video with the women, was sentenced to 20 years in prison in June 2021, the Herald reported. Theodore Gyi, who served as a cameraman, was sentenced to four years in prison in November 2022, while Valorie Moser, the office manager, will be sentenced on September 12. In May, the Herald reported US authorities have moved to seize more than $1.2 million in cryptocurrency from Pratt.

Karen Read defense expert challenges hit-and-run theory with collision tests showing key inconsistencies

Karen Read's legal team is nearing the end of the case for her defense with crash reconstruction expert Dr. Daniel Wolfe called to the stand Friday. Dr. Wolfe played video for the jury that showed multiple recreations of an impact involving a 2021 Lexus LX 570 SUV and a crash dummy to simulate that alleged impact of Read's vehicle of the same make and model on her former boyfriend, John O'Keefe, whom she is accused of killing in a drunken hit-and-run. In each simulation, at speeds ranging from 10 to 29 mph, the damage to the vehicle's taillight was "inconsistent" with that damage police recorded on Read's actual taillight. Read On The Fox News App "Did you reach any opinions or conclusions as to whether the damage to the right rear tail light of the subject vehicle is consistent or inconsistent with an impact to a right arm during a high-speed reversing maneuver?" asked defense attorney Alan Jackson. "It was inconsistent," Wolfe replied. Wolfe also obtained sweatshirts that were the same brand and fabric blend of the one O'Keefe was wearing when he died. Notably, the impacts did not produce similar holes in the cloth. Karen Read Defense Floats Theory That 'Jealous' Brian Higgins Fought John O'keefe Before Death "Do you have an opinion or conclusion as to whether or not the damage that you saw to the hoodie related to John O'Keefe is consistent or inconsistent with an impact from a right rear taillight of the subject SUV?" Jackson asked. "It was inconsistent," Wolfe replied. "And what do you base that opinion on?" Jackson followed up. "Based upon all of the impact testing that we did with the closed ATD arm in the laboratory, as well as the field," Wolfe said, using an acronym that refers to the formal name for crash dummies – Anthropomorphic Test Device. Judge Beverly Cannone called a midday lunch break around 12:40 p.m. Special prosecutor Hank Brennan was expected to kick off cross-examination when court resumes. Friday marks the 28th day of her retrial on murder and other charges in the death of O'Keefe, a 46-year-old Boston police officer. Wolfe is the director of accident reconstruction at a firm called ARCCA. Earlier in his testimony, he said ARCCA designed a specialized "cannon" to simulate throwing a cocktail glass at Read's taillight and determined that similar damage could have been caused if someone threw the glass at around 31 mph and 37 mph. "From the 37 mile per hour test, we are getting damage that's generally consistent, and by that I mentioned we have portions of the outer lens missing, the underlying diffuser," he said. So again we observed damage that was generally consistent with that of the subject taillight." Wolfe said he gave an opinion that the damage Read's SUV was generally consistent with someone throwing that drinking glass at least 37 mph. Follow The Fox True Crime Team On X In another ARCCA test, the reconstructionists wanted to see if an impact between the taillight and the back of O'Keefe's head could've caused his skull fracture. Wolfe said he tested at 15 mph. Damage to the test taillight was significantly more than Read's taillight at that speed – but it didn't generate enough force to cause a skull fracture. ARCCA obtained sweatshirts from the same company and of the same fabric blend as the one O'Keefe was wearing when he died and also simulated strikes to see if the fabric would puncture in the same way. At 10 and 17 mph, the taillight sustained different levels of damage but the fabric remained undamaged. Investigators recovered a broken cocktail glass and a black straw from the scene and found additional glass on Read's bumper. However, experts testified earlier at trial that the bar glass was not a match for the fragments found on her car. The defense denies that she struck him and has called witnesses who have attributed his injuries to other causes, including a dog bite and a potential fistfight with a man Read was flirting with behind his back. Wolfe testified during the first trial, which ended with a deadlocked jury, that damage to Read's SUV is inconsistent with a collision involving O'Keefe. Read told reporters outside court Wednesday that her defense could rest as soon as next Tuesday. There was no court on Thursday. She could face up to life in prison if convicted. TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Jerry Wolfe said he was shocked to discover a tow truck stuck in his Pasco County backyard, with one tire partially buried in his newly installed septic tank system. Wolfe told 8 On Your Side Consumer Investigator Shannon Behnken that the driver told him he was following GPS coordinates to locate a stuck Amazon delivery truck, which he claimed led him 60 paces past Wolfe's shed and onto his private property.
