What rapper Kanye West has legally changed his name to
American rapper and fashion designer, best known as Kanye West, has changed his name again. Kanye West, who has in recent years opted to just be known as Ye, has allegedly claimed the shortened version of his name is so nice that he wants people to say it twice. And so, Ye Ye is born. The New York Post got hold of documentation filed in California by Hussain Lalani, Ye Ye's chief financial officer. The documents cite the artist's name as Ye Ye after he had previously been listed as Ye West after the initial change in moniker. The eccentric public figure took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share the news of this recent development in his rather tumultuous life. 'Ima finally going to stop using the @kanyewest Twitter cause my name is Ye. Gonna start a ye account and it is what it is,' he revealed. In his backpacking era, the days of soul beat Kanye, his given name was derived from the region in Botswana of the same name. The word, or his name, also had another meaning in Setswana. In changing his name to just Ye, he said, 'In the Bible, it means 'you.' So, I'm you. I'm us. It's us. It went from being Kanye, which means the only one, to just Ye.' The name Ye is so nice, he now likes saying it twice. Ye Ye recently made his Donda 2 album more readily available after initially dropping it on his pioneering stem players, which very few people cared to purchase. He is also either gearing up or still contemplating the release of the not-so-highly anticipated album, Bully, which has been in the works now for quite some time with no concrete release date settled on. King Charles, Prince William expected at Trooping the Colour; no Harry
(NewsNation) — One of the biggest events for the British royal family will be happening this weekend to mark the monarch's birthday. But who will be in attendance this year? Trooping the Colour takes place on June 14 each year, with musicians, horses and parading soldiers taking part in the celebration. Royal family members will also sometimes join in on the fun, riding horseback and being in horse-drawn carriages. Kanye West changes name to 'Ye Ye': Documents After the parade, senior royals will gather on the balcony of Buckingham Palace to watch the Red Arrows fly overhead. King Charles, Queen Camilla and his son, Prince William, should all be in attendance. However, with royals clashing and Prince Harry's recent bid for security being denied, who can we expect to see at this year's event? There's no doubt that King Charles, 76, and his wife, Queen Camilla, will be at the center of the balcony, waving to the crowd below. Express Newspapers reported that 42-year-old Prince William, along with Princess Kate, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, will also be on the balcony. In 2024, after much speculation, Kate did end up attending the event despite her abdominal surgery and cancer diagnosis. Charles' brother, 61-year-old Prince Edward, should also be in attendance with his wife, Duchess Sophie. It is unclear if their children, Lady Louise and James, will be with them. Louise was with her parents in 2024, but James had skipped for his exams. Princess Anne is set to be on the balcony with her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence. Other senior royals who should be in attendance include: The Duke of Gloucester, Prince Richard The Duchess of Gloucester, Birgitte The Duke of Kent, Prince Edward Sabrina Carpenter announces new album 'Man's Best Friend' This is allegedly a smaller crowd than what Queen Elizabeth saw during her reign. When she had the throne, other royals who would be on the balcony included Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice, Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips. Queen Elizabeth would invite the entire royal family to join her for the event, but that changed in 2022, according to The Mirror. The late queen had decided to only invite working members to the balcony, which excluded Harry and his wife, as well as Prince Andrew. The only exception made was for Princess Anne's husband, Sir Tim, her two youngest grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. King Charles kept those same rules in 2023 and 2024 and will likely keep that same pace this year, since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, along with their children, are not expected to attend. One insider recently told NewsNation's Paula Froelich that Prince Harry 'doesn't really have any friends' in Montecito and is 'very lonely.' Sources told People magazine that Harry 'has one foot in the past,' and his friends agreed. 'He spent his entire life in England with family and friends. It's harder to forge deep friendships with people when you're older, especially if you're wary they may speak to the press.' King Charles and Prince William allegedly don't speak to Harry for the same reason—that what they say will be repeated to a news outlet. After Duke Edward abdicated, the royal family didn't have much contact with his family. The Duke and Duchess of Windsor became outcasts among the elite, and Edward's brother, King George, only saw him a few times in private after the abdication. Beach Boys' Brian Wilson dies, family 'at a loss for words' The difference between Harry and his wife and Edward and his wife is that the Duke and Duchess of Windsor remain mostly quiet. Kanye West changes name again
American rapper and 24-time Grammy Award winner Kanye West has reportedly changed his name to 'Ye Ye', marking the such move of his career. The new moniker has been used in recent business documents filed by West's chief financial officer, Hussain Lalani, US Weekly and Page Six claimed Monday, citing papers they had obtained. West's previous paperwork listed his name as 'Ye West'. However, his businesses, including Yeezy Apparel, Yeezy Record Label LLC, and Getting Out Our Dreams Inc., now list 'Ye Ye' as the manager or member of the companies, according to reports. West has not publicly confirmed the change, but recently indicated on X that he would no longer use his @kanyewest handle. As of now, a new X account has not been launched, though his Instagram remains under the username 'Ye'. The artist's previous name change took place in 2018, when he began calling himself 'Ye' – a title also used for his eighth studio album released that year. He later explained the meaning behind the change, telling Billboard, 'I believe 'ye' is the most commonly used word in the Bible, and in the Bible it means 'you'. So I'm you, I'm us, it's us.' 'It went from Kanye, which means the only one, to just Ye – just being a reflection of our good, our bad, our confused, everything,' he said. In a 2018 social media post, he also declared that 'the being formally known as Kanye West. I am YE.' Three years later, a Los Angeles County judge granted his petition to legally change his name to Ye. Earlier this year, the artist was embroiled in a major scandal after proclaiming himself a 'Nazi' and expressing sympathies for Adolf Hitler. He was also caught wearing a T-shirt with a swastika which he also sold on his online merchandise store for $20. In April, however, Ye walked backed on his claims, writing on social media that he had 'come to the realization that I'm not a Nazi,' noting that he will nevertheless continue saying 'whatever the f*ck I feel like whenever the f*ck [I] feel like it.' He later deleted the message. Throughout his career, the rapper has repeatedly described his struggles with mental health and revealed that he had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2016. In February, however, he claimed that he was misdiagnosed and had stopped taking medication after finding out that he actually had 'a case of autism.'
