10 Egyptians among 12 killed in Libya's truck-bus crash
ALBAWABA- A tragic road accident in eastern Libya has claimed the lives of 12 people — including 10 Egyptian nationals — following a collision between a bus and a truck on the Ajdabiya-Tobruk road.
According to local media citing the Emergency and Ambulance Authority in Ajdabiya, the victims include 10 Egyptians and 2 Libyans, one of whom was the truck driver.

The accident has been blamed on the road's poor condition. Officials described it as a narrow, single-lane desert route with no services, despite its importance for commercial and passenger traffic.
Media outlets quoted authorities as saying: "The road is in a deteriorated state. It's a single-lane desert road with no services, although it is considered a vital artery for travelers."
Images shared widely on social media showed the extent of the devastation — the bus was completely crushed after overturning, while the front of the truck was destroyed, indicating the intensity of the impact.
This latest tragedy once again highlights the vulnerability of Egypt's migrant labor force in Libya. On September 23, 2024, a similar crash in Derna claimed the lives of 13 Egyptian workers.
