An Australian couple's DIY plans took an unexpected turn when one mischievous family member got in on the action.
Jackie and Craig, who live in Melbourne with their dog, Roy, were installing shutters when they realized vital screws and tools had vanished.
In a viral video on Instagram, Jackie, who didn't give a surname, shared how she had blamed her husband for the missing items during their DIY install.
"When you make a whole scene about him misplacing the screws and losing his tools... then you watch back the install footage," the text overlay said.
Initially baffled by the missing items, they later discovered—thanks to footage from their DIY reel—that Roy had been secretly collecting the misplaced items.
"He is incredibly cheeky and always up to mischief. I had no idea he was behind it until I watched back the video while editing my Instagram reel," Jackie told Newsweek.

In the footage, the one-year-old Pug was caught "red pawed" interfering with his owners' tools and screws, leaving Jackie owing her husband an apology for blaming him: "Now if you'll excuse me, I have a humble apology to make..." she joked in the video caption on Instagram.
As the video gained more than 137,000 views since being posted to @my_friend_jackies_house at the start of this month, people couldn't get enough of Roy's mischievous antics, sharing their reactions in the comments.
"This is the equivalent of my dog ate my homework," laughed viewer @homestead.on.hibiscus.
While @ourlittleaussiehouse said: "This is the funniest."
Instagram user @morspacemelbourne said that Roy had been "caught red-pawed!"
While viewer @sherwinwilliams stood up for the young pup and joked: "He's not stealing, he's collecting for his secret workshop."
This isn't the first time a dog has been hilariously caught out for cheeky antics. Like the pup who was caught enjoying a slice of cake in a coffee shop when he thought nobody was looking, or a mischievous young golden retriever who pretended to be asleep when their owner found they had chewed up one of their sandals.
There is also previous evidence that dogs and DIY don't always mix well. In 2024 one dog owner proved that pets and home improvement aren't great bedfellows when he opened a can of paint, only to return and realize that his dog, Ted, had relieved himself in the bucket of bright white paint.
Another viral video proved that dogs can be made to help though as Delilah the pup was given a head-torch to assist her owner in some hammering at home. "What a supportive diva," said one commenter on the viral video.

Former NDP leader Jagmeet Singh apologizes for attending Kendrick Lamar show
TORONTO — Jagmeet Singh is saying sorry for attending one of Kendrick Lamar's Toronto concerts last week. The former NDP leader issued an apology on Sunday after being called out by Drake, who branded him a "goof" for being seen at the Rogers Centre supporting his rap nemesis amid their ongoing feud. Singh's statement said he went to see "SZA not Kendrick," referring to the Los Angeles rapper's tourmate. Drake and Lamar have been embroiled in a rap beef that exploded last summer with a series of diss tracks, including Lamar's No. 1 hit single "Not Like Us." Photos posted on social media showed Singh in what appeared to be floor seats at the stadium concert. It was unclear which of the show's two nights he attended. The rapper trades off mini-sets with SZA for the duration of the three-hour concert, performing numerous Drake diss tracks he released last year. Drake is suing Universal Music Group for defamation for publishing and promoting Lamar's "Not Like Us." In legal documents, the rapper born Aubrey Graham, said the song's lyrics wrongly accuse him of being a pedophile, jeopardizing his safety and damaging his reputation. Universal calls Drake's suit a baseless "attack on the commercial and creative success of the rap artist who defeated him.' Earlier Sunday, Drake posted a screenshot on his Instagram Stories showing that he direct-messaged Singh and called him out for attending Lamar's show. Several hours later, Singh published his apology on Instagram. 'I was born in this city. I love this city. But real talk, I get it. I shouldn't have gone at all," he said. "OVO and Drake have lifted this city and (Canada). For me it'll always be Drake over Kendrick." Singh stepped down as the federal NDP leader in April after a resounding defeat on election night where he lost his own riding. This report by The Canadian Press was first published June 16, 2025. Are Farmer Wants A Wife 2025 Couple Jack & Sarah Still Together?
As Farmer Wants A Wife 2025 barrels to a close, there's one thing on everybody's mind: which lucky couples will find their fairytale ending? Farmer Wants A Wife is one of Australia's most successful reality TV shows, with 20 couples still together today. Farmer Jack Lonie chose Sarah Linklater over Olivia Turner during his final decision, and it wasn't that much of a surprise. Sarah caught Farmer Jack's eye from the beginning, and she was invited back to his farm for a 24-hour date prior to the others. She was the first one to have a steamy makeout session with the Farmer, and to be honest, nobody else seemed to stand a chance. But are Farmer Jack and Sarah still together now that their time on the show has wrapped up? We've scoured the internet for all the clues about this adorable Farmer Wants A Wife couple. What have Farmer Jack Lonie and Sarah Linklater said about their relationship? Farmer Jack and Sarah have stayed tight-lipped on social media — perhaps they don't want to spoil anything for the reunion — but their final onscreen moment hinted at a solid foundation for the two. "My feelings for you have grown stronger and stronger. And whether we're sitting in silence or talking for hours, I feel at ease with you. I've always felt pulled back to you and I've always had you on my mind," Jack told Sarah. "I can't imagine my future without you. Sarah, you are a risk, but you are a risk I'm willing to take. I do feel like I'm falling in love with you." Sarah told Jack she was "so excited" to plan a future with him, so does that mean this Farmer really did find a wife? Are Farmer Jack and Sarah still together? An inside source told Refinery29 Australia they're unsure if Jack and Sarah made it in the real world, because they've kept their relationship hidden so well. According to New Idea, Jack and Sarah are still together, and the Cairns resident has been spotted with Jack on his farm. Yahoo! Lifestyle also reported that Sarah's name has been removed from her workplace's website, which could hint at a permanent move for Sarah to Jack's farm in Tasmania. The reality TV contestants are currently both following each other on Instagram, so that could be a huge clue. Jack also follows his runner-up Olivia, though, so he might just be keeping up appearances. However, the current application form for Farmer Wants A Wife 2026 reveals some key information. According to the website, "11 Aussie farmers have found a wife [and] nine more have found long-term love." There are 20 couples still together today, which matches this statement. If Jack and Sarah were still together, the website would have a total of 21 successful couples.
