Dil Raju denounces industry practice of buying YouTube views for trailers, songs: ‘Don't want to fake numbers anymore'
Producer Dil Raju attended the trailer launch of his upcoming film Thammudu, starring Nithiin. He opened up about the industry practice of buying YouTube views for trailers and songs, announcing that he's denouncing it. Here's what he said. Raju stated at the event that he has directed his PR team not to buy any views on YouTube for Thammudu's trailer or songs. He said, 'I've been meaning to talk about this for a while now, and I must address it today. Whatever views you see on YouTube for this film are original. I've told my PR team and everyone working for me that the numbers must reflect real views. I do not want to fake numbers anymore.'
He stated that he's adapting this practice so he knows beforehand, as a producer, how much the audience is really interested in his films. 'I want to know how many views my songs or trailers bring in so I'm prepared for how much reach it'll have upon release. When we're buying views, there's a large number for us to show, but we don't really know if it's reaching the intended audience. Even if it's difficult, I've decided to take the first step in doing this,' explained Raju.
When everyone looked shocked at the tangent his speech took, Raju claimed that he wasn't stating anything 'controversial', reasoning that it's the only way producers can 'correct' themselves. 'I am not saying anything controversial. I believe we (producers) will know how to correct ourselves only when we see genuine numbers. If the film is worth it, people will watch it anyway. Look at how Sankranthiki Vasthunam became an all-time record. Court also became a super hit. 2025 has proved that all we need is good content.'
In January this year, Raju was called out by the press for releasing a poster for the Ram Charan-starrer Game Changer, claiming it earned over ₹186 crore worldwide on its opening day, when in reality it earned that amount in its lifetime. He defensively said, 'I've already said we (producers) have weaknesses we can't discuss. I admit that, no. Don't you know how much the film has already collected? So you calculate and put out posters for films now.'

The actor disagreed with it but also shared the need for timely reinvention. He shared that audience's tastes are changing and as filmmakers, they have to keep that in mind. "They have to change fast. If we don't look at the future, things could be pretty bad. I feel that's what happened in Hindi. Now they'll change. It can't be fantastic all the time", he said. On the work front, he will be seen next in 'Kuberaa' joining Dhanush and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead. The movie will be released on June 20. He will be further seen in Rajinikanth's film 'Coolie' which also includes the brief appearance of stars like Aamir Khan, Upendra Rao and Pooja Hegde.

Dipika Kakar gets discharged from hospital after 11 days, gets emotional about support she received from fans: ‘People took out time to read namaz'
Dipika Kakar is back home after spending 11 days in the hospital following liver tumour surgery. Dipika's husband and actor Shoaib Ibrahim updated their fans about the latest development through his YouTube channel. In the video, he also shared glimpses of Dipika leaving the hospital and meeting her son after a long time. In the video, Shoaib said, 'She got discharged after 11 days and has come for a check-up. These past few days have been incredibly difficult for me and my family, but we are thankful for everyone's prayers and support. This is just one part; a lot of things are still ahead.' Dipika Kakar, who underwent a 14-hour surgery, seemed quite emotional as she left the hospital and thanked the doctors. In the video, she was seen personally thanking all her doctors and hugging the nurses who cared for her during her time in the hospital.' Post her discharge on June 12, Dipika reunited with her son Ruhaan and other family member. Shoaib said he was planning to upload the vlog on the day of her discharge itself, but decided to delay it by a day due to the Ahmedabad plane crash. The actor added, 'After she was out of ICU, the doctor suggested her to keep it as her hands had become puffy and would hurt her.' Just before getting discharged, the doctors removed the IV from her neck and stitches around her waist, which caused her a little discomfort. 'After they took out the thing from the waist, it is hurting a bit,' said Dipika. Dipika Kakar was diagnosed with the tumour in her liver in May. The actress took to her Instagram handle to share the news with her fans. She wrote, 'As you all are aware last few weeks have been quite difficult for us… walking into the hospital for a pain in the upper area of my stomach… and then finding out its a tennis ball size tumour in the liver and then finding out that the tumour is second stage malignant (cancerous)… it has been one of the most difficult time we have seen, experienced! I am all positive and determined to face this and walk out stronger InshAllah! With my entire family being by my side… and all the love and prayers pouring in from all of you I will sail through this too!'
