Michigan CB Will Johnson to miss Pro Day workout with hamstring injury
Michigan cornerback Will Johnson, one of the top prospects in the 2025 NFL draft, has suffered another injury that will cause him to miss Michigan's Pro Day.
Johnson can't work out at Michigan on March 21 because of a hamstring injury, according to ESPN.
Injuries were already a concern with Johnson after he missed most of last season with shoulder and toe injuries. He is expecting to be healthy enough to work out for NFL teams on April 14.
Johnson was one of Michigan's best players in 2023, when they won the national championship, and was named defensive MVP of the College Football Playoff National Championship Game.
Johnson and Colorado Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter are considered by many to be the top two cornerbacks in this year's draft.

Vikings, OC Wes Phillips agree to contract extension
The Minnesota Vikings will keep Wes Phillips as their offensive coordinator for a little while longer. According to Ben Goessling of the Minnesota Star Tribune, the Vikings and Phillips have agreed to a contract extension. Phillips' deal was set to expire after the 2025 season, but the team is adding one more year to his contract, keeping him on the coaching staff through 2026. ESPN's Greg McElroy ranks Georgia's defense among nation's best
ESPN analyst Greg McElroy has high hopes for the Georgia Bulldog defense. In his preseason ranking of the top 10 defenses in football, he ranked Georgia fourth. "This might be a little controversial because they were not quite the same last year as they were in year's past," McElroy prefaced. Advertisement Georgia's defense was ranked 23rd in points allowed per game in 2024. That isn't bad, but it's far from the dominance Georgia showed in 2021-23 when the defense never ranked below 5th in points allowed per game. So why does McElroy rank Georgia's defense 4th? "I trust Kirby Smart," McElroy said, "I think he's one of the best defensive minds in the entire country. He creates a culture of physicality and toughness. It's hard to play against this group regularly." There's the question of how Georgia will be able to replace the talent of NFL first-round picks Jalon Walker, Mykel Williams, and Malaki Starks. However, McElroy says fans shouldn't be worried about the talent Georgia lost because of UGA's track record. Advertisement "When have you ever been super concerned about the past departures we've seen on Georgia's defense? They've had a lot of guys shuffling in and out of the lineup last year. Yet, they still played pretty good football for most of the year." Georgia was considered one of the biggest losers of the 2025 NFL draft due to losing nine defensive players in the NFL draft. The Bulldogs also lost nine players via the transfer portal. However, McElroy believes Georgia's high-level freshmen and sophomores will be able to fill the holes left by the massive exodus. Only three team defenses ranked ahead of Georgia: Ohio State placed No. 3, Penn State placed No. 2, and SEC rival Texas placed No. 1. Georgia and Texas will play each other in Week 12, and college football fans will see which defense is stronger. Aaron Rodgers Looks Forward to Mentoring Will Howard: ‘I'm Gonna Help Him Out as Much as I Can'
PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers revealed during his introductory press conference on Tuesday that he looks forward to serving as a mentor for rookie Will Howard. 'Will's a good kid,' Rodgers said. 'Got to talk a little bit. I thought he did really well today. he seems pretty bright. [The game's] not too big for him. He got through progressions really well. I'm gonna be with him every single day and every single meeting. Found my seat next to him in the offensive meeting… I'm gonna help him out as much as I can.' Advertisement Howard is chomping at the bit to learn from one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history. 'I was fired up,' Howard said when he heard that Rodgers signed with the Steelers. 'Believe me. That's a guy I grew up watching, idolizing, and it's cool to be in the same room with him. Just hearing, first day, his thoughts and the way that he looks at things. He's a legend in this game. I'm gonna try and learn as much as I can from him and be the best support guy that I can be for him. I think it's amazing. The opportunity for me to learn and to work with a guy like that is second to none.' Having the chance to learn from a four-time NFL MVP like Aaron Rodgers will only set Howard up for success at the next level, and he knows that. 'I've been watching him pretty much, damn near, my whole life. There's a lot of things I've picked up from him. The things he can do with the football in his hands are kind of special,' Howard said. 'You got to make the best of your situation. I think him being here, for me, is like a dream come true, learning from a guy like that.'
