Sheboygan PD releases statement on teen's drowning at quarry, arrest made for online threat
Recovery efforts began on the afternoon of July 15 after a 13-year-old from Sheboygan never resurfaced from the waters of Jaycee Quarry Park. Search efforts concluded the next day after the victim's body was recovered.

Officers noted that, based on an initial investigation and witness accounts, no foul play is suspected. It was also said that the teen was swimming with a group of friends in a non-designated area of the quarry.
The Sheboygan Police Department then touched on the 'false and misleading information' circulating on social media.
'Unfortunately, this misinformation has contributed to heightened emotions and the exchange of threats among community members online. Our department has taken these matters seriously, and we have already investigated one such threat that led to an arrest,' the release states.

'We urge everyone to use caution and responsibility when sharing information online,' officers went on to say. 'Please verify facts before reposting and remember that speculation and rumors only cause further harm to those already grieving.'
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Both Sheboygan Jaycees Quarryview Park and the Sheboygan Quarry Beach Adventure Park and Water Sports have since reopened.

Maxwell, 63, is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence after her 2021 conviction for her role in a scheme to sexually exploit and abuse multiple girls with Epstein. Her attorneys have taken an appeal of her conviction to the Supreme Court. After meeting with the government last week, she was moved from a federal prison in Tallahassee, Florida to the Federal Prison Camp Bryan in southeast Texas.

Woman arrested after stealing 8 boxes of ice cream from Boston CVS at knifepoint, police say
Boston police arrested a woman last week after she stole eight boxes of ice cream from a Dorchester CVS at knifepoint, according to police. Boston resident Omaila Medina, 41, pleaded not guilty to a charge of armed robbery in connection with the incident during her arraignment in Dorchester District Court on Aug. 30 and was held without bail, according to court records. She was also arraigned on nine other outstanding warrants, Boston police said in a press release. On July 29, officers responded to the CVS Pharmacy at 468 Blue Hill Ave. around 1:30 p.m. for a report that there was a person with a knife inside the store, police said. At the scene, they found a woman matching the description of the suspect carrying eight boxes of ice cream. Officers quickly arrested the woman and identified her as Medina, police said. Their investigation revealed that Medina had pulled a knife on a store employee before fleeing with the ice cream. The ice cream was recovered and returned to the store, police said. Medina is due back in court on Aug. 8, according to court records.
