Chelsea Handler Won't Vacation With Siblings' Spouses
Chelsea Handler has sparked a debate after she candidly stated that she is 'done' going on vacation with her siblings' partners.
For reference, 50-year-old Chelsea has never married and doesn't have children, and she is the youngest of six siblings. Her oldest brother, Chet, tragically died in 1984, and she previously said that this loss helped to keep her, Shoshanna, Simone, Glen, and Roy 'a tight-knit group.'Speaking to the New York Times in 2022, Chelsea included her brothers and sisters in a list of her favorite things, saying at the time: 'It's really nice to have adult closeness with all of your siblings. They're the only people in your life who understand exactly what you went through with your parents growing up.''We've gotten closer and closer as we've gotten older,' she added. 'There are five of us. We're a big pack, a unit. My most meaningful relationships are with my siblings."
Chelsea is also incredibly close with her siblings' children. Back in 2017, she proudly posted a photo to Instagram with 'all' of her nieces and nephews, though it's not known if she has welcomed any more since. For reference, in 2017, she was an auntie to eight children.
And in June last year, Chelsea shared a selection of vacation snaps as she revealed that she had taken all of the kids on a trip that was gatecrashed by two of the adults.
Speaking on Olivia Attwood's So Wrong It's Right podcast, Chelsea matter-of-factly said: 'I told my brothers and sisters this year that I'm done with their spouses. I'm like: 'I don't need to go on vacation with your spouses anymore,' I didn't marry these people.'
'I've extended my generosity for 25 years, I've brought all of your children and all of your spouses on vacations, multiple vacations a year for 25 years, and now I want to vacation with the people that I want to vacation with, and they're not your spouses,' she went on. 'I'm sure this is very relatable to people who also don't enjoy traveling with their siblings' spouses.'
But it seems as though Chelsea's comments aren't as relatable as she may have thought, with some criticizing the star in the comments of a TikTok video from the pod. One person wrote: 'that's honestly awful. yikes,' and another added: 'I'm married, if someone doesn't want to hang out with my spouse, too bad. See you in neveruary.''too bad, they are ur family now,' somebody else agreed, while one more wrote: 'Oh, that's just sad and boring. I love my sisters-in-law. I don't think a vacation would be the same without them now.''I would rather vacation with my brothers wife than my actual brother,' another echoed.
But not everybody felt this way, with others agreeing with Chelsea, saying that they also value sibling-only time.
'You don't like to spend time with your sibling?' one person wrote in response to the negative comments. 'My siblings and I do sibling (no spouse/partner) trips all the time because we just want to hang out.''Normalize siblings only,' somebody else agreed, while one more quipped: 'in my family we call it 'the originals.''Another user joked: 'As a spouse thank you I don't want to be there,' and somebody else concluded: 'I would prefer it if my husband's siblings excluded me more often.'

Shortly after Peacock announced the "Love Island USA" cast in late May 2025, video clips of a new islander, Yulissa Escobar, saying the N-word on a previous podcast went viral online. During the season's second episode, which aired on June 4, 2025, the "Love Island USA" narrator, Iain Stirling, announced that producers had removed Escobar from the villa, which many fans assumed was due to her past problematic statements. Now, after some time to process the news that she'd no longer be in the running for the $100,000 grand prize on the most recent season of "Love Island," Escobar released an apology, which has drawn a mixed reaction from fans.
