Reviewers Say These 25 Shoes Require Zero Breaking-In
Platform sandals that will surely ~level up~ any casual outfit since these pair nicely with dresses, jeans, and shorts. No matter what color you get these in (and there's plenty to choose from), you won't regret it because they seamlessly blend cute and comfy into one shoe. A pair of dainty little sneakers with ribbon and lace detailing, if you want your cottage core style to go all the way down to your toes. These have a memory foam sole for extra comfort and come with regular shoelaces for those who appreciate having options. An iconic Teva sandal, since you sometimes want to let your puppies breathe instead of cramming them into a hiking boot. Many reviewers say that these last for years and are worth every penny. Plus, they come in sooo many different color combinations. Some braided heel sandals, which are actually comfortable, so you can go to dinner, the local bar, and the club all without saying "ouch" every step you take. The 2-inch heel is great for anyone who wants just a little height, minus the foot pain! A pair of cowboy boots that work for college game days, a night out with friends at the Beyoncé concert, a weekend trip, and... you get the point. These will make sure you get through any occasion with no pain or blisters, all while looking just plain boot-iful. Aerothotic flip-flops featuring soft straps, arch support, and a cloud-like insole for the ultimate walking sandal. Yeah, you probably didn't think that you'd be choosing flops over traditional walking trainers, but these ones are sooo comfy (and they're sweat-resistant) for those long summer days. Dr. Scholl's Time Off Sneaker — a TikTok favorite because they're just as stylish as your classic Converses, Nike AF1s, or Vejas... BUT they are actually comfortable and will get you through those days when you go well beyond the 10,000-step goal. Or, some Dr. Scholl's slip-ons that might just have you kicking your feet because they've got a cushy insole and are easy to take on and off. Many reviewers choose these as their go-to walking shoes when they're on vacation. Sorel strappy sandals sure to add some fun to your outfit because of the unique scalloped platform soles. You'll be walking for miles, getting compliments left and right, all while enjoying the sweet, sweet comfort of these cool kicks with an EVA footbed. An oh-so-classic pair of slip-on pointed toe ballet flats if you're wanting a shoe that looks like the Rothy's version, but can't justify the $160 price tag. These give you that same breathable fabric and are designed for all-day wear, so you can be struttin' your stuff with no blisters in sight. Hey Dude lace-up loafers so easy to slip on and off, you might think they are a close cousin to your comfy slippers back at home. They're lightweight, have a memory foam insole for ultimate support, and are even machine washable. A pair of platform sandals that will earn their spot as your favorite shoe of the summer. The knit upper hugs your foot without being too constricting, and the memory foam sole makes sure that every step you take feels like you're walking on sunshine (woooaahhhh 🎶☀️). Tioseban sneakers because the Balenciagas that look like socks that Cardi B was talking about are just a little... okay, a lot... out of your price range. These, on the other hand, are super comfy, and the breathable mesh material makes walking long distances feel like a breeze. Vintage Reebok sneakers that look good with dresses, jeans, skirts, you name it. The padded foam sock liners give it a cushiony feel, making them great shoes for adventures ranging from short weekend trips to weeks of international travel. Floral ballet flats — they combine cute, comfort, and breathability all into one little flat. These add so much to an outfit, thanks to the floral cutouts. Plus, these are easy to pack when you travel because they conveniently roll up! Some Skechers slip-ons, which are a true classic because these comfy shoes are LOVED by reviewers who deal with plantar fasciitis — and rightfully so because these have a memory foam insole! A pair of H-strap sandals that look quiiittteeee similar to the oh-so-expensive Hermès Oran sandals that retail for $840 — yikes! These comfy flats, on the other hand, are super affordable while still keeping you on top of the trends. A pair of colorful platform sneakers to add a little something something... and by something, I mean 2.2 inches and a whole lotta color to your look. These have a soft insole and anti-slip outsole, so you'll be comfy no matter what activity is on your to-do list. Steve Madden ankle boots perfect for hitting your daily 10,000-step goal because they're super comfy *and* for hitting your stride because they're super stylish. Plus, reviewers say these are sturdy, making them especially good for when cold and wet weather strikes. Slip-on mules for that effortlessly chic look, since the faux material and pointed toe on these make them look way more expensive than their price suggests. They'll look great with pretty much anything you throw on and are def a closet staple. Some Naturalizer block heels — this brand is literally known for having the comfiest heels, and I can attest that the hype is real! The innovative cushion sole sculpts to your feet, making sure you'll have all-day comfort no matter if it's just for a fancy date night or dancing all night at your sister's wedding. Some New Balance 574s that have gone viral for being THE shoe to have in your shoe rotation. TBH, it makes sense since they are so versatile. Pair them with biker shorts for a sporty look or throw on some jeans and a nice top for a smart casual look. A pair of low-heeled sling-backs so you can make sure you're looking cute and feeling comfortable while commuting to the office. Reviewers love how these look like they're from Chanel and how the strap in the back doesn't dig into their heel, unlike most slick back-styled shoes. A pair of lug sole loafers that'll be your best investment to date, since these will pretty much go with everything you own. Reviewers say the Italian leather is supple, making it easy to wear them straight out of the box. Some lace up combat boots because you want that Doc Marten style, but know that Docs are an absolute PAIN to break in. These, on the other hand, are a fraction of the price and are comfortable to boot. You, when you finally meet the heel that will be comfy all night and not give you foot pain or blisters: Reviews for this post have been edited for length and/or clarity.

Jennifer Lawrence Just Wore the Coolest Comfy Clogs
Every item on this page was chosen by an ELLE editor. We may earn commission on some of the items you choose to buy. In a fashion landscape where minimal effort reads as maximum style, the humble clog has quietly climbed the ranks to become the shoe du jour. No longer relegated to cottagecore fantasies or functional gardening gear, clogs are now a bona fide fashion flex. They've been endorsed by editors, models off-duty, and most recently, Jennifer Lawrence. The Oscar-winning actress was spotted walking through New York City in a pair of Rothy's Casual Clogs, a minimalist, eco-conscious, and machine washable take on the silhouette that's quickly becoming a favorite among in-the-know fashionistas. Styled with a sophisticated cream coat, slouchy trousers, and a flash of cherry-red socks, Lawrence achieved a chic, nonchalant, and unmistakably modern look. The resurgence of the clog has been bubbling for a few seasons, thanks in part to high-fashion iterations. Dior made waves with its 2022 collaboration with Birkenstock, elevating the orthopedic staple with buckled hardware and couture-level embroidery. More recently, clogs have clomped down the runways at brands like Hemès, Bode, and The Row, each interpreting the silhouette through their own lens—equestrian elegance, Americana nostalgia, and minimalist luxury, respectively. So why clogs, and why now? Well, we are living in an era that appreciates the art of understated luxury and intentional comfort, and clogs check every box: They're sculptural, easy to slip on, and strikingly versatile. Whether crafted from leather, felted in wool, or rendered in rubber, today's best clogs are less about hippie heritage and more about a grounded, grown-up coolness. They're the kind of shoes that suggest you know what you're doing—even if you didn't try very hard. Why Trust ELLE Every product featured on is independently researched, tested, or editor-approved. 9 Summer Dresses And The Flat Shoes To Pair Them With, From Boat Shoes To Jelly Sandals
Social media has hosted many heated debates, from politics to pineapple on pizza. You name it, it's been argued over. But lately, one question has been dominating our FYPs: 'what shoes is everyone wearing for summer 2025?' While not a hard-hitting query, it's one still of crucial importance, especially when it starts getting warmer and the carry-on gets dusted off for its next EasyJet adventure. When space is limited, we rely on summer dresses and shoes that can do it all – pairing with a string or straw bag to make the holy trinity of summer. We need flats that don't blister at 15K step, that can handle impromptu drinks in the cobbled square of Ibiza old town, and, can happily slip on and off during a languid day by the pool. We've done our research (both scrolling, and stomping) and found nine styles the fashion insiders are co-signing this year. Thanks to The Row, flip-flops have re-entered the chat, and not just for gym changing rooms and the beach. These slip-ons are now city approved, as vouched for by Gigi Hadid. Innately waterproof – as Hadid showed when she attended the launch of her Havaianas range on a rainy New York day – and with a modern square toe, they are an unexpected, insouciant counterpoint to a structured summer, mini dress. The model and mum made the banana yellow shade of her pair pop with a contrasting minty green pedicure and stack of anklets. Preppy is back, and nothing is Sloanier than a pair of boat shoes. First spotted on Miu Miu's runway, the look is more collegiate than seafaring. Polo Ralph Lauren, Sezanne and Zara have pairs available in tobacco hues that add a sun-drenched softness to denim dresses. We wear ours like we would a loafer: with a pair of ribbed socks. Yacht club membership optional. This shoe is a bona fide classic, the epitome of demure. Whether heeled or flat, slingbacks always feature a delicate little back strap. Think of them as a counteroffer to the Mary Jane. They charm as an option when loafers feel too heavy and sandals feel too naked, for instance when wearing an unfussy linen midi dress, like those that Emilia Wickstead designs so beautifully. The fashion cycle is known for its plot twists, as proven by the valiant return of the ballet flat. It goes to show, no matter how divisive or passé an item might be, with the right endorsements and styling, it can pirouette back into relevance. With the help of The Row and Bottega Veneta and a higher profile on the bridge of the foot, this style looks more modern than its mid-2000s counterpart. Wear yours with a wafty white cotton dress, like those from Dôen and Damson Madder. Some would say mesh flats, as found at Alaïa, Proenza Schouler and Arket, are impractical. And they might be right. However, the combination of translucency and coverage feels elevated, yet effortless. They hug the foot, providing support, but are breezy, like a sandal. This design is a sensation when luggage space is limited because it works equally well with slip dresses as with denim shorts. Now this is a sandal you can wear to get your steps in. This asymmetric design wraps around the big toe for stability while providing more visual intrigue than your classic flip-flop. The likes of Toteme, Dries Van Noten and ME+EM have all mastered this silhouette. Here, fashion editor Ana Escalante has opted for a minimalist design in plain black with a chunky footbed, but other brands, like Dune and Amanu, have created iterations with elegant metal bars and cuffs, which act like jewellery for the foot. Paired with a black sundress, you can't go wrong. After everyone and their mum bought Adidas' Sambas (guilty as charged), sneaker trends have become more niche and complex. Along with the rise of New Balance's 1906 loafer, PUMA's Speedcat sneakerinas, Miista's Nikoletta football-style low-top and Miu Miu x New Balance's 930 slip-on mules, there are Salomon's slip-ons. Breathable because of a mesh-upper and like walking on a cloud because of the EVA midsole, these trainers might have been designed for putting on post-workout, but we're pulling them on with sheer dresses for a gorpcore twist. Between the smell of rubber and the revealing flash of toes, there's something quite subversive about jelly shoes for adults - and we haven't even touched on the fact that they were once a staple of our childhood. Yet, these youthful shoes have evolved. Last summer caged styles became popular with cult pairs coming from Chloé, The Row and Ancient Greek Sandals. This year, jellies are now in fisherman, flip-flop and mule silhouettes. Wear them in ice cream shades of raspberry, blueberry, lilac or vanilla as you would a pair of Tevas and pair with a classic Broderie Anglaise dress for a contrast in texture. On the surface, the Boston clog and the strappy Arizona Birkenstock are natural summer flats. Yet, in our hands, or on our feet with a pair of socks, they are a year-round staple. As well as being comfortable and supportive, they can act as a chunky counter to a floaty cotton maxi dress. In earthy tones of taupe or khaki, these shoes transcend trends and – as Margot Robbie in Barbie proved – they are perfect for everyday life in the real world.
