enCore Energy Receives Radioactive Materials License for Upper Spring Creek ISR Uranium Project, South Texas; Commences Construction

Cision Canada6 days ago

DALLAS, May 29, 2025 /CNW/ - enCore Energy Corp. (NASDAQ:EU| TSXV: EU) (the "Company" or "enCore"), America's Clean Energy Company TM, today announced the approval for the inclusion of the Upper Spring Creek In-Situ Recovery ("ISR") Uranium Project (the "Project") in the existing Radioactive Materials License ("RML") from the TCEQ (Texas Commission on Environmental Quality). This license allows enCore to handle radioactive materials, which includes the final product, U 3 O 8 ("uranium"). The current RML includes the Rosita Uranium Project, which has now been extended to cover the Upper Spring Creek Project's Brown Area. The RML allows the construction of wellfields and a Satellite Ion Exchange ("IX") Plant to commence, which will feed the Rosita ISR Uranium Central Processing Plant ("CPP"). These Satellite IX Plants, located adjacent to wellfields, are a key part of the satellite ISR process; they are modular, efficient, and relocatable, allowing for cost-effective uranium extraction across multiple remote sites which can be moved once a wellfield is depleted. The RML is scheduled for renewal in 2032, provided the Project's operation remains in compliance. The RML provides safety, material handling, record keeping and reporting protocols.
William M. Sheriff, Executive Chairman of enCore Energy stated: "The receipt of the RML, allowing enCore to build its next remote Satellite Ion Exchange Plant and wellfield in a timely manner from application, is a testament to the efficiency of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. The ability to operate and issue these critical permits under authority of being an Agreement State in conjunction with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission is a clear competitive advantage for enCore. This is our third permitted facility in Texas with each of our preceding permits having been granted in 20 months or less. The Upper Spring Creek Project brings important uranium mineralization into the operations of the Company, and we look forward to recovering (capturing) increasing amounts of uranium from late this year into 2026. On behalf of the Board, I want to thank our dedicated team for bringing this project to the point of permit application and issuance. We have the utmost confidence in them completing the new construction in the coming months."
enCore has commenced advancement of the Project with drill rigs moving to site to begin development of the production wellfield; enCore previously began staging equipment in anticipation of receiving this approval. Construction activities will include surface preparation, well construction, road construction and installation of support facilities and utilities. The construction of the Satellite IX Plant concrete pad is planned to start in 30 days.
enCore now holds two RML's in Texas; one for the Alta Mesa ISR Uranium Project and the amended RML which now includes the Upper Spring Creek's Brown Area, Rosita and Kingsville Project areas. The TCEQ is a part of the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission's ("NRC") Agreement State Program where Texas assumes regulatory authority over certain radioactive materials, including production of uranium. As part of the agreement, regulations adopted by Texas are required to be compatible with NRC regulations.
About the Upper Spring Creek ISR Uranium Project
The 100% Company-owned Project is a planned Satellite IX Plant operation for the Rosita CPP. The Project consists of several future potential production units within the historic Clay West uranium district. The Project was previously held by Signal Equities LLC, who previously licensed and permitted the property as an ISR uranium project, maintaining the aquifer exemption and ceased work following continued low uranium spot prices. In December 2020, the Company acquired the Project. The uranium mineralized sands that are associated with the project area lie within the Oakville Formation. These historic uranium producing sands stretch across an area of approximately 120 miles long by approximately 20 miles wide in South Texas. The uranium mineralized ore body at the Upper Spring Creek Project occurs at depths typically between 300 and 450 feet from surface.
Rosita ISR Uranium Central Processing Plant
The Rosita CPP can receive uranium-loaded resin from remote project areas across the South Texas region through a network of Satellite IX Plants. These Satellite IX Plants, located near wellfields, are a key component of the ISR uranium extraction process. A lixiviant, consisting of groundwater mixed with oxygen and sodium bicarbonate, is injected into the wellfield using ISR technology, where it dissolves uranium from the underground sandstone. The uranium-bearing solution is then pumped to the surface and directed through the IX columns at the nearby Satellite IX Plant, where uranium is absorbed onto resin beads. The uranium-loaded resin is then transported to the Rosita CPP, where the uranium is removed from the resin and processed into yellowcake. Once processed, the resin is recycled and trucked back to the Satellite IX Plants for reuse. These modular, efficient, and relocatable IX Plants allow for cost-effective operation across multiple sites without the need to construct full processing facilities at each location, and they can be relocated once a wellfield is depleted.

New Zealand Energy Corp Announces 2024 Quarter 4 Results

Vancouver, British Columbia--(Newsfile Corp. - June 3, 2025) - New Zealand Energy Corp. (TSXV: NZ) ("NZEC" or the "Company") announced today it has filed with Canadian regulatory authorities its Q4 2024 consolidated financial results and an accompanying management discussion and analysis report, which documents are available on the Company's website at and on SEDAR at Commenting on the Company's 2024 end of year results, CEO Michael said "The results saw a loss of $8,179,276 (compared to the 2023 loss of $2,075,929) which included significant non-cash expenses including depreciation and depletion. Overall, there was a $3,568 increase in cash at year end and $1,131,605 was held as at 31 December 2024. Cash used by operating activities was ($1,962,125), compared to 2023 of $1,404,159 of cash used by operations. The Company achieved average net daily production of 17 boe/d (98% oil) through 2024 compared to 27 boe/d (99% oil) during 2023. Waihapa/Ngaere production was curtailed through Q4 2024 while the Tariki-5/5A well was being drilled and tested, and there was no oil production from Copper Moki through the whole year. With respect to development operations, Mr Adams commented: "In the final quarter of 2024, the Tariki-5A gas development and storage well was successfully drilled, confirming the anticipated excellent reservoir quality, and the initial flow test results were very encouraging. However, since February 2025, the well has faced challenges in maintaining continuous flow due to liquid loading in the 3.5" completion, which was initially optimized for gas storage operations. This issue has led to an earlier focus on converting the field to gas storage operations than originally planned, and work on this conversion is currently underway. The Copper Moki-1 and -2 wells have been out of service since 2022 and 2023, respectively, due to pump failures. Plans to work over these wells in the second quarter of 2025 are progressing as scheduled, with the RIVAL rig set to arrive at the location in early June 2025. This joint project with Monumental Energy Corp. (MNRG) has the potential to add more than 200 barrels of oil per day (bopd) and associated gas to the company's production by the end of Q2 2025. At the Waihapa-Ngaere oil field, efforts are in progress to bring several wells back into continuous production service. This work involves a combination of surface and sub-surface low-cost interventions and is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2025. The company anticipates that this will result in a further uplift in oil production of 25 to 40 bopd (100% share). With these production redevelopments in place, New Zealand Energy Corp. (NZEC) will be well-positioned to advance the Tariki Gas Storage project through to the Final Investment Decision (FID) stage. Following that, the company will continue with the appraisal and exploration of opportunities within the acreage it already holds." On behalf of the Board of Directors "Mike Adams" CEO Neither the TSX Venture Exchange nor its Regulation Services Provider (as such term is defined in the policies of the TSX Venture Exchange) accepts responsibility for the adequacy or accuracy of this release. Stocks Finish Higher on Chip Stock Strength and Healthy US Labor Market

The S&P 500 Index ($SPX) (SPY) Tuesday closed up +0.58%, the Dow Jones Industrials Index ($DOWI) (DIA) closed up +0.51%, and the Nasdaq 100 Index ($IUXX) (QQQ) closed up +0.79%. June E-mini S&P futures (ESM25) are up +0.58%, and June E-mini Nasdaq futures (NQM25) are up +0.81%. Stock indexes on Tuesday shook off early losses and rallied, with the S&P 500 posting a 3-month high, the Dow Jones Industrials posting a 2-week high, and the Nasdaq 100 posting a 3-1/4 month high. Strength in chip makers on Tuesday boosted technology stocks and supported gains in the broader market. Stocks extended their gains on signs of a healthy US labor market after the Apr JOLTS job openings report showed an unexpected increase in job listings. The upside in stocks was muted Tuesday after the OECD cut its 2025 global GDP forecast for the second time this year, citing trade barriers and uncertainty that are weighing on economic confidence. Also, the steeper-than-expected decline in US April factory orders was bearish for equity prices. In addition, the heightened trade tensions between the US and China continue to weigh on stock prices following China's Ministry of Commerce's accusation on Monday that the US had unilaterally introduced new discriminatory restrictions. US Apr factory orders fell -3.7% m/m, weaker than expectations of -3.2% m/m and the biggest decline in 15 months. US Apr JOLTS job openings unexpectedly rose +191,000 to 7.391 million, showing a stronger labor market than expectations of a decline to 7.100 million. Comments on Tuesday from Atlanta Fed President Bostic were slightly hawkish and negative for stocks and bonds when he said he's in no rush to cut interest rates as 'there's still a way to go in terms of progress on inflation.' The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) cut its global 2025 GDP forecast to +2.9% from a March forecast of +3.1%, citing the impact of tariffs and uncertainty on confidence and investment. Weakness in Chinese manufacturing activity is negative for global growth prospects. The China May Caixin manufacturing PMI unexpectedly fell -2.1 to 48.3, weaker than expectations of an increase to 50.7 and the lowest level in more than 2-1/2 years. The markets are discounting the chances at 1% for a -25 bp rate cut at the next FOMC meeting on June 17-18. The markets this week will focus on any new trade or tariff news. On Wednesday, the May ADP employment change is expected to climb by +110,000, and the May ISM services index is expected to rise +0.5 to 52.1. On Thursday, weekly initial unemployment claims are expected to fall by -5,000 to 235,000. On Friday, May nonfarm payrolls are expected to climb +125,000, and the May unemployment rate is expected to remain unchanged at 4.2%. Finally, May average hourly earnings are expected to rise +0.3% m/m and +3.7% y/y. Overseas stock markets on Tuesday settled mixed. The Euro Stoxx 50 closed up +0.38%. China's Shanghai Composite closed up +0.43%. Japan's Nikkei Stock 225 closed down -0.06%. Interest Rates September 10-year T-notes (ZNU2 5) Tuesday close down -0.5 of a tick. The 10-year T-note yield rose +1.8 bp to 4.458%. Sep T-notes on Tuesday gave up early gains and turned lower after the US Apr JOLTS job openings unexpectedly rose, a hawkish factor for Fed policy. Also, hawkish comments from Atlanta Fed President Bostic weighed on T-notes when he said he's in no rush to cut interest rates. In addition, Tuesday's rally in the S&P 500 to a 3-month high reduced safe-haven demand for T-notes. T-notes on Tuesday initially moved higher on positive carryover from a rally in European government bonds due to an ECB-friendly Eurozone May CPI report. Also, Tuesday's action by the OECD to cut its global 2025 GDP forecast for the second time this year was supportive of T-notes. In addition, the slide in US Apr factory orders by the most in 15 months was supportive for T-notes. European government bond yields on Tuesday were mixed. The 10-year German bund yield rebounded from a 3-1/2 week low of 2.485% and finished up +0.1 bp to 2.525%. The 10-year UK gilt yield dropped to a 3-week low of 4.601% and finished down -2.9 bp to 4.638%. Eurozone May CPI eased to +1.9% y/y from +2.2% y/y in Apr, better than expectations of +2.0% y/y and the smallest increase in 8 months. May core CPI eased to +2.3% y/y from +2.7% y/y in Apr, better than expectations of +2.4% y/y and the smallest increase in 3-1/3 years. The Eurozone Apr unemployment rate fell -0.1 and matched the record low of 6.2%, right on expectations. Swaps are discounting the chances at 97% for a -25 bp rate cut by the ECB at Thursday's policy meeting. US Stock Movers Strength in chip stocks supported gains in the broader market. ON Semiconductor Corp (ON) closed up more than +11% to lead gainers in the Nasdaq 100. Also, Microchip Technology (MCHP) closed up more than +6%, and Micron Technology (MU) closed up more than +4%. In addition, NXP Semiconductors NV (NXPI) and Broadcom (AVGO) closed up more than +3%, and Nvidia (NVDA) closed up more than +2% to lead gainers in the Dow Jones Industrials. Finally, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), Applied Materials (AMAT), GlobalFoundries (GFS), ARM Holdings Plc (ARM), and Texas Instruments (TXN) closed up more than +2%. Dollar General (DG) closed up more than +15% to lead gainers in the S&P 500 after reporting Q1 net sales of $10.44 billion, stronger than the consensus of $10.28 billion, and raising its 2026 net sales forecast to +3.7% to +4.7% from a previous view of +3.4% to +4.4%. MoonLake Immunotherapeutics (MLTX) closed up more than +18% after the Financial Times reported that Merck held talks to acquire the company.
