Morning temperatures were in the 50s this morning, and it may be a while before we see temperatures this cool again. Noon temperatures will be in the mid-70s. While your next good chance to see rain comes on Saturday, I actually bring back a small isolated rain chance on Thursday and another isolated rain chance on Friday.
Most will be completely dry on Thursday, and the Friday rain chance comes after sunset. Saturday's rain and storm chance looks to arrive in the early afternoon and will stick around for the rest of the day. Our setup with a broad area of low pressure moving our way from the western Gulf and merging with a Canadian cool front could bring significant rain our way.
Right now, at least the model data isn't picking up too much on big rain totals. We will see.
The rain continues on Sunday, with the best chance for rain happening in the morning and afternoon. Looking way ahead, Temperatures are expected to spike heading into the middle of next week. I have highs in the upper 80s on Thursday next week.
The NWS did indeed confirm the 11th tornado so far this year in Western PA. This one was in Clarion County.
It was an EF-0. This was the first tornado in Clarion County since 2017 and only the county's 15th confirmed tornado ever.
The biggest weather story today is probably the presence of Canadian smoke as a thick smoke plume continues to track to the east. This morning, the plume with be the thickest with things improving for the afternoon and evening hours.

Smoke is expected to remain well above the surface, so air quality is unlikely to be significantly impacted. Smoke will be thin for the rest of the week.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue battle blaze at Sunny Isles hotel, authorities say
A fire Monday afternoon at the Newport Beachside Hotel and Resort in Sunny Isles was brought under control, according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue. MDFR said the blaze was reported shortly after 2 p.m. at the hotel, located on Collins Avenue and Northeast 163rd Street. Responding crews found heavy smoke coming from an external garbage chute, authorities said. The agency reported the fire appeared to be contained to the chute. Crews remained on scene to ventilate the structure and check each floor for possible extension. There were no reports of any injuries during the fire. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.

Rain could appear in Western Mass. Thursday, but dry spell could herald high weekend temps
Smoke from Canadian wildfires is expected to dissipate further as this week continues, but rain could return and temperatures could start to climb during the weekend. Cool and dry conditions should continue after a few chances for showers, and thunderstorms in Berkshire County in particular, on Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service. Thunderstorms aside, spot showers could appear in northwestern Massachusetts, with a slim chance for instability, forecasters said. The rest of the state should see dry conditions with increasing sunshine throughout the day. Daytime highs could be in the mid-70s or close to 80 degrees, with cooler temperatures expected along the coast of Eastern Massachusetts, forecasters said. Temperatures should fall further with lows in the mid- to high 50s, while it could be in the low 50s across the northern interior. A potential tropical system is expected to appear offshore during Friday and the weekend, but dry conditions should dominate the forecast within this timeframe, the weather service stated. Temperatures on Friday are expected to be between 77 and 84 degrees, while Saturday should see temperatures climb between 78 and 86 degrees, forecasters said. Elevated dewpoints should be prominent starting on Sunday and continuing through Monday until Wednesday, forecasters said. This leaves open the potential for thunderstorms developing by Tuesday and especially Wednesday, when dewpoints could be in the 60s or 70s.
