OLLIE Walker's brilliant unbeaten 108 steered Herefordshire to their first NCCA Trophy 50 over competition success of the season with a five-wicket victory against Norfolk at Brockhampton.
Walker combined some of his trademark savage hitting with some graceful strokeplay and solid defence to hit five sixes and eight fours in his 97-ball innings.
Walker's innings completed an excellent day as he had returned 4-52 with the ball in Norfolk's innings.
Luke Tulacz hit a better than run-a-ball 29 in a fifth wicket stand of 65 with Walker. Meanwhile, Alex Hinkley was then an excellent foil for Walker as he compiled an unbeaten 40 in an unbroken county record sixth-wicket stand of 107 for the sixth wicket.
After Norfolk won the toss and elected to bat first, Benjamin Wilcox (59) and Alfie Cooper (55) posting half-centuries for the visitors, who posted a useful total.
But Taylor Cornall (2-45) and Imaad Mahmood (1-36) also took wickets as Herefordshire restricted their target to 247.
Although Herefordshire lost Ollie Cox early in their reply, Cornall (40), skipper Matt Pardoe (12) and Ben Chapman-Lilley (10) took the Herefordshire total to 76-4 before Walker, Tulacz and Hinley completed the run chase.
Earlier in the weekend Herefordshire went down by 60 runs to Staffordshire at West Bromwich Dartmouth in the NCCA Trophy 50-over competition.
But the defeat would have been far more comprehensive but for one of James Rudge's sparkling cameos which saw the all-rounder batter six sixes and four fours in a 38-ball 62.
Rudge was joined in a record-breaking last-wicket stand of 68 with Adam Hines who largely watched from the non-striker's end but also contributed an unbeaten four.
The previous record of 59, set by Nick Davies and Paul Humphries against Shropshire at Luctonians, had stood for 24 years since 2001.
Rudge's all-round efforts bookended the day as he picked up the first two Staffordshire wickets, bowling open Callum Hawkins and having Liam Banks caught behind by Luke Powell, after Herefordshire had won the toss and elected to bowl first.
But Staffordshire's strong middle order, led by skipper James Kettleborough (105), continued to rack up the runs.
The home side looked set for a very big score when they reached 227-4, but some fine spin bowling by Taylor Cornall (5-39), aided by a spectacular one-stump-to-aim-at run out by Ben Chapman-Lilley to remove the dangerous Matthew Morris for 49, helped to dismiss the hosts for
275.
Cornall (24) and Ollie Cox (21) scored quickly when Herefordshire got their reply under way.
With Chapman-Lilley (42) and Ollie Walker (27) well entrenched, Herefordshire reached the halfway mark in their innings past the 100-mark, with only three wickets down were and well in touch with the target.
But both were dismissed in quick succession and wickets tumbled to leave Herefordshire languishing on 147-9 before Rudge's late fireworks.
Herefordshire now head for Sudbury on Sunday to take on Suffolk in their final group game, but are unlikely to progress to the knockout stages.

Trent Alexander-Arnold told he's still nowhere near as good as 35-year-old RB
England manager Thomas Tuchel has been told that Kyle Walker remains a better all-round player than former Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold, as the Three Lions prepare to face Finland and Senegal over the next few days. Advertisement England has been blessed with top-quality right-backs in recent times, with Walker, 35, and Alexander-Arnold also facing competition from Chelsea's Reece James. Walker's club career took an unexpected turn this year, as he was sent to AC Milan on loan for the second half of the season — after reportedly being snubbed by Real Madrid — following a disappointing start to the campaign. Although Madrid wasn't keen on Walker, Alexander-Arnold has found a place on the Spanish team's roster. Liverpool acted quickly to replace him with Jeremie Frimpong, and the right-back's former Bayer Leverkusen teammate Florian Wirtz could also join the Reds. READ MORE: Liverpool transfer news LIVE: Rayan Cherki decision, Florian Wirtz 'confirms' deal, Kerkez medical READ MORE: Liverpool transfer target 'says yes' to Reds in record-breaking deal Advertisement Walker started just 11 games for Milan but was still named in the England squad for the World Cup qualifier against Finland as well as next week's friendly against Senegal. Former England winger Chris Waddle suggested that Walker should get the nod. "It's a really strange one," Waddle said of Walker's current career situation while speaking to "He's been in and out of the team at Milan. "It was a good move to go there, and when I watch him play he clearly has the pace to deal with the top-level stuff, but he's still been an inconsistent starter. Kyle Walker and Trent Alexander-Arnold are among England's best right-backs "Now, that might be because he doesn't fit their tactics right now, or because they just played so many games, but even if it was a sensible move to make at the time, it hasn't quite gone as he'd have hoped. Advertisement "At the same time, it's hard to name a better English right-back. Trent Alexander-Arnold can be exceptional but he's not outstanding as a true defender. "He's got his talents, there's no denying it, with exceptional passing and dead-ball delivery, but if it's him or Walker, we're not blessed in that position for a young right-back who does what you expect. I think Kyle is the pick of the two right now, his all-round game puts him ahead of the rest." Alexander-Arnold's move from Liverpool to Real Madrid was confirmed at the end of May, with the Spanish club paying the Reds an $11 million transfer fee — despite the player's Liverpool contract being due to expire just a few weeks later. That's because Madrid wanted Alexander-Arnold to be part of Xabi Alonso's squad for the start of the Club World Cup, which gets under way in the middle of June. Madrid could have waited until July 1 to sign Alexander-Arnold on a free transfer, and he would have been eligible to play in Los Blancos' remaining games in the tournament, but the Spanish giant was keen for the player to have a period of integration in the weeks building up to the revamped event.

Keyshawn Davis Vs. Edwin De Los Santos Full Card, Date, Time, How To Watch
Keyshawn Davis vs. Edwin De Los Santos WBO lightweight champion Keyshawn Davis has gold around his waist, but he still has something to prove. The Norfolk native will be in his hometown for his first title defense against the dangerous Edwin De Los Santos on Saturday. Here's the info on the card and how you can watch the event. The card headlined by Davis happens on Saturday, June 8, 2025, at the Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia. The undercard is scheduled to begin at 5:10 p.m. ET and will stream live on ESPN Plus. The main card kicks off at 10 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on ESPN, ESPN Deportes, and ESPN Plus. In the main event, Davis defends his WBO lightweight title against De Los Santos in a clash between two dangerous punchers. For Davis, this marks his first title defense after claiming the vacant strap earlier this year with a commanding knockout win over Denys Berinchyk. De Los Santos is stepping back into the spotlight following a tough but valuable loss to Shakur Stevenson. His style and tremendous speed can create chaos. If he finds a rhythm early or lands something meaningful, we'll learn a lot about Davis' mettle as a champion. This fight could become a shootout by the middle rounds, and that's something the fans would enjoy, though it might be wiser for Davis to utilize his boxing and movement. We'll see which direction the fight goes, but it could be a sneaky good battle. NEWARK, NEW JERSEY - JULY 05: Abdullah Mason poses on the scale during a weigh-in ahead of their ... More Lightweight bout against Luis Lebron of Puerto Rico (not pictured) at Prudential Center on July 05, 2024 in Newark, New Jersey. (Photo by) The co-main event features undefeated knockout artist Mason taking on seasoned Namibian fighter Nakathila in a 10-round lightweight bout. Mason is an all-action fighter who never wastes a second in the ring not pursuing a knockout. While Mason has been mostly dominant thus far in his career, this fight represents a real step up. Nakathila has gone rounds with the likes of Stevenson and Miguel Berchelt, so if Mason can break through here, he'll force his name into the conversation for a title shot within a year. This card leans heavily into Top Rank's youth movement. Davis' brothers (Kelvin and Deric), Isley, and Johnson are all being positioned as future headliners. It's easy to see this card was constructed with the locals and hardcore Davis fans in mind. Fight Week Events Top Rank will stream the full fight week build-up across their social media platforms, including the final press conference and Friday's weigh-in. Fans can also catch exclusive content like 'The Art of Ward' and behind-the-scenes access via 'Camp Life,' which focuses on Davis's preparation. With the spotlight fully on Norfolk, this is a major coming-out moment for the rising star. I'll be scoring the main and co-main event live, so be on the lookout for my results article that covers the televised portions of the event.

Jarace Walker injury update: Will Pacers forward play vs OKC Thunder in NBA Finals?
The Indiana Pacers have never won an NBA title. They've won three ABA titles (1970, 1972, 1973), but the team has no Larry O'Brien Trophies and only one Finals appearance (2000). They are a franchise starved for significance, dying to etch its name in history, and in 2025, they finally have a shot. After taking down the New York Knicks in six games in the Eastern Conference finals, the Pacers are just four wins away from achieving their first NBA championship. With young stars such as Pascal Siakam and Tyrese Haliburton, the Pacers certainly have the talent to put up a fight, but they may be going into the Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder shorthanded. Advertisement In their conference-clinching Game 6 victory, second-year forward Jarace Walker suffered what looked like a serious ankle injury in the fourth quarter. Walker was unable to leave the court on his own and needed to be helped off by trainers. Walker has played a sizable role in the Pacers' trek through the East, contributing decent minutes in Games 5 and 6 of the Eastern Conference finals. Here's the latest news on Walker's availability for the start of the NBA Finals. More: OKC Thunder among biggest betting favorites in NBA Finals history: What does history say? Cleveland Cavaliers forward Emoni Bates defends Indiana Pacers forward Jarace Walker in the fourth quarter at Rocket Arena. Jarace Walker injury update Per Dustin Dopriak of the Indianapolis Star, part of the USA TODAY Network, Walker is "going to be out for a while" and is officially ruled out for Games 1 and 2 of the Finals, meaning his earliest possible return would be for Game 3 on June 11 in Indianapolis. Advertisement Carlisle noted that Walker's ankle was still swollen. He claimed the forward is still using crutches today as part of his recovery. Carlisle ended his statement by emphasizing that Walker's return date will rely heavily on his progress in rehab. Although Walker has not been a central figure in the Pacers' gameplan, he has provided clutch minutes and solid defense off the bench. His absence certainly throws the Pacers' rotation for a loop just days before the Pacers' most important games in a quarter century. Advertisement Walker was one of the best defensive options the Pacers had on their bench. Given Oklahoma City's offensive versatility, the Pacers could be in serious trouble if another bench player does not step up and fill Walker's shoes.
