'The Masked Singer' reveals Bat as major reality star and features Taylor Swift 'bestie' singing one of her hits

Warning: This article contains spoilers for season 13, episode 4, "Voices of Olympus: Unmasking of the Gods."
Five new masks rained down upon The Masked Singer stage as the "voices of Olympus" on Wednesday night — and no, we still don't really know what that means, either.
The episode description read: "From the triumphs to the tragedies to the myths and the legends, deities Rita Ora and Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg, the exalted Ken Jeong and the majestic Robin Thicke are prepared for a clash of the titans and an unmasking of the gods as the Group B premiere commences!" Basically, it was an excuse for the panel to do Gladiator cosplay, which was seemingly confirmed later in the episode when Jeong yelled that film's iconic line — 'Are you not entertained?!' — at the audience.
That aside, the episode did in fact bring in five new masks for the first time since the season 13 premiere, and they were about as bonkers as the night's theme. First out of the gate was Boogie Woogie, which can best be described as "Muppet, but make it ABBA." He sang 'I Believe in a Thing Called Love' by the Darkness — all of the high notes included.

Then, Space Ranger came out, and had the distinct honor of being the first person on The Masked Singer to sing a song by Taylor Swift. It was a fitting choice, because Swift factored heavily into this out-of-this-world contestant's clues. He even told the panel, "Taylor Swift is my homie, we go way back. She's one of my besties."
For the second week in a row, Lucky Duck turned up to offer some additional clues, this time with a new accent. 'The panel may not have 20/20 vision, but that doesn't mean you don't get a bird's-eye view. You shouldn't have to wait, tick tock,' he said as he gave the audience a closer look at Space Ranger's belt, which has a clock on it. (There also appeared to be some sort of Masked mystery board behind Lucky Duck. Hmmm... wonder if there are more clues there.)

Next, it was time for Griffin, the only costume particularly on theme for the evening. He sang "Rewrite the Stars' by Zac Efron and Zendaya from The Greatest Showman. Afterward, McCarthy-Wahlberg and Jeong joined forces on their guess that he was David Arquette, a rare melding of the minds for those two.
Then it was Bat's turn to sing 'Espresso' by Sabrina Carpenter. She apparently had some connections to both McCarthy-Wahlberg and host Nick Cannon. Pearl finally ended things, boldly choosing to sing a Whitney Houston song, 'Saving All My Love for You." (And Ora's jaw never left the floor as she did so.)

The first to go home from this new crop of singers was Bat. Before she could fly off the stage, everyone had to offer their final guesses. All of the panel was decently close, opting to go for various reality TV stars. Ora first chose Heidi Montag, but later piggybacked off of Thicke's guess of Bethenny Frankel. McCarthy-Wahlberg went with Larsa Pippen, and Jeong stuck with Lisa Rinna.
For the second time this season, though, no one got it right, and Bat was unmasked to reveal Vanderpump Rules star Scheana Shay.
This means next week's episode will feature Space Ranger, Boogie Woogie, Pearl, and Griffin battling it out to inch their way closer to cementing a spot in the Group B finals. Stay tuned for that next Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.

Ryan Reynolds spoofs 'Doogie Howser M.D.', calls Neil Patrick Harris a 'butthole' for stealing Deadpool game role

Ryan Reynolds isn't letting go of Deadpool without a fight — or at least some carefully plotted vengeance. After several years as the face, voice and personal cheerleader of the merc with a mouth, Reynolds has been usurped by Neil Patrick Harris, who is set to voice the comic book character in Marvel's Deadpool VR, a new game for the Meta Quest 3 and 3S. And Reynolds is taking the news about as well as expected. Hours after the trailer for the game arrived on Saturday, Reynolds shared a video in which he is seen "overreacting" to the news. The video opens with the Deadpool & Wolverine star sitting at a decades-old computer while wearing glasses and a lab coat in an apartment eerily similar to that of the title character in Doogie Howser, MD., Harris' star-making role. "Today, I learned a lesson about buttholes they don't teach you in medical school," Reynolds narrates. "People who steal your signature role are the biggest buttholes of all." Spoofing the journal entries that Doogie often made on the show, Reynolds continued, "No, I don't blame Meta Quest. Neil Patrick Harris is an amazing actor with the nurturing voice of an angel, but even though I haven't hit puberty yet, I still know when you're getting totally screwed." Reynolds is then interrupted by the appearance of Robyn Lively, who played a love interest to Harris in Doogie Howser M.D. "House call," she announces. Staying in character, Reynolds says, "My girlfriend, what are you doing here? If my dad sees you here, he's gonna freak." But Lively, the half-sister of Reynolds' wife Blake Lively, doesn't play along. "You're a 48-year-old man," she reminds him. "I'm a 14-year-old medical prodigy who's going through the change," Reynolds insists, sticking to the stolen character before breaking the fourth wall to remind her: "Robin, you're being paid." Lively ignores him and deadpans, "This is vindictive and stupid." But Reynolds is not dissuaded from his revenge quest. Later, he even attempts to double down on the role of Doogie by going in for a kiss with Robyn, but can't bring himself to do it. "I don't think we should do that because you're my sister-in-law," he says, giving up. Lively replies, "You're so dumb." While Reynolds' tenure as Doogie was shortlived, Harris is committing to his role as Deadpool. The trailer for the upcoming game promises an adventure that's "not for the faint of heart," warning players to "put on your big-kid undies and strap in for a violent, expletive-ridden good time." The game is slated to drop later this year. In the meantime, watch Reynolds attempt to steal the role of Doogie in the video above. Read the original article on Entertainment Weekly

WWE's 'The Miz' suggests Chiefs star for American Gladiators, talks Browns fandom

WWE's 'The Miz' suggests Chiefs star for American Gladiators, talks Browns fandom This week, Chiefs Wire's Ed Easton Jr. spoke to Mike 'The Miz' Mizanin about his participation in this year's American Century Championship, which will take place July 9-13 at Edgewood Tahoe, his earliest memory of the Cleveland Browns fandom, and hosting the upcoming American Gladiators reboot while name dropping Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce as an ideal Gladiator. The Kelce brothers are confirmed to be Miz's competition again this year, as he will seek a better finish than last year's tournament. Miz is an Ohio native and a die-hard Browns fan, having witnessed the franchise's ups and downs. Cleveland's last divisional round postseason appearance was against Kansas City in 2020, when they lost at Arrowhead Stadium 17-22. He recalled his earliest memory of the team as a child attending school, singing about their quarterback, Bernie Kosar. "I believe I was in, like, fifth grade, and I was going to school in the bus, and we were just singing, Bernie, Bernie, oh baby Super Bowl," said Miz, "So, yeah, I remember that verbatim, and I also remember us not making it to the Super Bowl. I believe that year was either the fumble or the drive. I'm not sure which one, but those are the two things that really screwed us." The former WWE champion was recently named host of the upcoming reboot of American Gladiators on Prime Video. "I can't wait. I think, with this show, we're gonna, you know, give a nod to what, what American Gladiators was in the past, and elevate it and put it, you know, with 100% and go literally, ball to the wall, if you will." said Miz, "I mean, American Gladiators is a staple, and now to be the host of American Gladiators. It's an absolute honor, and I take it very, very seriously. I want to make sure that this show is everything people imagine it to be and more, and it will be. I can't wait for people to meet the Gladiators. I can't wait for people to see the events, and I can't wait for people to see me as the host." During a recent appearance on NFL Network's Good Morning Football, Miz suggested that Chiefs star Travis Kelce would make a great addition to the show as a Gladiator. "I'm gonna go with two tight ends. I'm gonna go, George Kittle, I'm gonna go with Travis Kelce, because of personality," said Miz during the broadcast, "A Gladiator has to have a great personality, and got to be out there, not only do that be physically dominating but they got to be someone, either you're root for, or you're gonna boo kind of like a WWE superstar." The annual tournament awards $750,000 in prize money, much of which the celebrity players donate to local and national charities. Over the years, nearly $8 million has been donated to non-profit causes. Network television exposure on NBC, along with a first-place prize of $150,000, makes the celebrity tournament one of the most prestigious in the golf world.
