Evacuation warning issued for Hollywood Hills residents near Sunset Fire
Residents like Reno Muren began preparing their belongings in case the rain caused mudslides or debris flows in the hillside community.
"I felt the anxiety in my chest," she said. "I'm going to go home and kind of get my stuff together again. It would not be fun to have our place flooded."
During a previous storm in mid-February, the rain soaked the canyon and caused a large debris flow on Mulholland Drive.
"A couple of weeks ago when we had the big rain, it flooded," resident Diane Lander-Simon said. "We had a big mudslide. It's one way in and one way out. Everybody was sort of stuck."
The evacuation warnings will affect neighborhoods somewhat around Wattles Garden Park, east and south of Runyon Canyon.
The advisory will last from 7 a.m. on March 12 to 6 p.m. on March 13.
The Los Angeles Fire Department also released a map showing evacuation warnings for communities near the Eaton, Hurst and Palisades burn scars.

Los Angeles Fire Department crews are working to put out a commercial building fire in downtown Los Angeles on Friday afternoon. Around 1:12 p.m., crews responded to a row of commercial buildings with heavy smoke showing at Winston Street near S. Los Angeles Street. Around 2:04 p.m., the incident reached "major emergency" status as smoke continued to billow from the rooftop, with visible flames. The fire extended to the adjacent large commercial building, and with over 88 firefighters battling the flames, additional resources have been requested. Brush fire ignites in hills near Burbank homes
Fire crews are battling a brush fire burning near homes in the hills above Burbank Tuesday afternoon. The fire was reported around 3:45 p.m. near Amherst Drive and Bethany Road, according to the Burbank Police Department. By 4:30 p.m., the blaze, named the 'Bethany Fire,' was mapped at 8-10 acres and growing. Evacuation orders are in place for: Walnut Avenue above Bel Aire Drive Above Bel Aire Ballfield (Bel Aire Drive, Vista Ridge, Starlight Circle) Evacuation warnings are in place for: Irving Drive to Magnolia Boulevard above Kenneth Road 1000 block of Bethany Road All hiking trails above Burbank, including the Wildwood Canyon and Stough Nature Center areas are closed. 'If you are on or near the hiking trails or in these recreation areas in the Burbank hills, please leave the area immediately,' the police department said. 'Officers are in the area to assist.' An evacuation site is available at McCambridge Recreation Center at 1515 North Glenoaks Blvd. It's unclear how the fire started. Crews from the Burbank fire and police departments, along with Los Angeles Fire Department, have responded to the scene.
