Who Is Manasvi Mamgai, Former Miss India Now Producing Hollywood Film With Al Pacino?
Last Updated: Miss India 2010 Manasvi Mamgai is now producing a film starring Al Pacino and Katie Holmes. Here's a look at her inspiring global journey. Manasvi Mamgai's life has taken her from Chandigarh's stages to Hollywood's biggest circles. A former Miss India (2010), Manasvi is now making waves globally as a Hollywood producer. Her latest project? A major feature film starring acting legends Al Pacino and Katie Holmes, based on the 1973 kidnapping of oil tycoon J. Paul Getty's grandson. In an earlier interview with Grazia, Manasvi opened up about how the ambitious project came to life. 'It all began with a connection: someone I knew had access to an extraordinary IP – the life rights of the Italian mafia boss who kidnapped the grandson of the world's richest man, Jean Paul Getty, in 1973… Now having Hollywood legends like Al Pacino and Katie Holmes on board has been nothing short of surreal," she shared. Her journey, however, hasn't been an overnight success. This week, Manasvi introduced herself to her growing Instagram community with a powerful, personal post recounting her story from a childhood in small-town India to producing movies in Los Angeles and Rome. View this post on Instagram A post shared by MANASVI MAMGAI (@imanasvi) Born and raised in Chandigarh, with roots in Uttarakhand, Manasvi was raised by a single mother. She began performing on stage at five and by fifteen had won over 100 competitions. A successful modeling career followed, and in 2010, she won Miss India, a title shared by stars like Priyanka Chopra. However, success didn't shield her from life's challenges. She shared experiencing breakups, depression, and career uncertainty. But her passion for the arts pulled her back, leading to theatre work in Mumbai and her Bollywood debut. A work opportunity took her to the United States in 2016. She described her move as a leap of faith: 'Instead of thinking why, I said why not." Nine years later, she's producing a film in Rome and balancing her Bollywood roots with a Hollywood future. Notably, Manasvi, along with Pacino, met with Pope Leo XIV at the Vatican, marking the first time the Oscar-winning actor has been formally received by a Pope. The event was also historic for Manasvi, placing her among the few Indian-origin Hollywood producers to be granted such an audience. Now based in LA and producing under her banner 32RED Entertainment, Manasvi is not just chasing the American dream—she's shaping it. 'Every day I wake up wondering if it will all work out or fall apart," she wrote, 'but I am grateful that I get to have these challenges." First Published: June 17, 2025, 21:01 IST
