The plan calls for the establishment of an alternative civilian administration in Gaza, which will be under neither Hamas nor the Palestinian Authority.
Its goal is to 'demilitarize' Gaza and ensure the release of hostages.
Satellite images show a heavy deployment of Israeli forces and a buildup of military equipment near the Gaza border, indicating a large-scale military operation.
Around 20 Arab and Muslim countries have described Israel's plan as a 'blatant violation' of international law
They have called Israel's plan an attempt to 'entrench the illegal occupation.'
In a joint statement, these countries called it a 'unilateral action against international legitimacy.'
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, after meeting his Egyptian counterpart and President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi in Egypt, said that Muslim countries must unite to mobilize the international community against this plan. US-Pakistan hold talks, reaffirm commitment to fight terrorism in all forms

The United States and Pakistan held the latest round of the US-Pakistan Counterterrorism Dialogue in Islamabad on Tuesday (local time), reaffirming their shared commitment to combating terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. The dialogue was co-chaired by Special Secretary for the United Nations, Nabeel Munir, and US Department of State Acting Coordinator for Counterterrorism Gregory D. LoGerfo, according to the Joint Statement on US-Pakistan Counterterrorism Dialogue, released by the Governments of the United States and Pakistan. Both delegations underscored the critical importance of developing effective approaches to terrorist threats, including those posed by the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), ISIS-Khorasan, and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), the Joint statement added. The United States applauded Pakistan's continued successes in containing terrorist entities that pose a threat to the peace and security of the region and the world. Further, the United States expressed condolences for the loss of civilians and members of law enforcement agencies in terrorist incidents in Pakistan, including the barbaric Jaffar Express terrorist attack and the bombing of a school bus in Khuzdar. Further, the Joint statement read, both delegations emphasised the importance of building stronger institutional frameworks and developing capabilities to respond to security challenges and to counter the use of emerging technologies for terrorist purposes. Both sides reaffirmed their intention to work closely in multilateral fora, including the United Nations, to promote effective and enduring approaches to counterterrorism, it added. Reaffirming the long-standing partnership between Pakistan and the United States, both sides emphasised that sustained and structured engagement remains vital to countering terrorism and promoting peace and stability, the Joint statement stated. Meanwhile, Tammy Bruce said that the United States' relationship with both Pakistan and India "remains unchanged," adding that the "diplomats are committed to both nations." Her remarks came after Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir's comments in Florida, where he reportedly said Pakistan could use nuclear weapons to take down India and "half the world" in the event of an existential threat. Highlighting the US-Pakistan counter-terrorism dialogue, which was established in Islamabad on Tuesday, she affirmed, "The United States and Pakistan reaffirmed their shared commitment to combat terrorism in all its forms and manifestations during the latest rounds of talks in Islamabad. The US and Pakistan discussed ways to enhance cooperation to counter terrorist threats." "For the region and for the world, the US working with both those nations is good news and will promote a future that's beneficial," she added. Mumbai police inform Bombay High Court of nod for CPI(M) Gaza crisis protest

Mumbai police on August 12, 2025, informed the Bombay High Court that it has agreed to allow the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)], to hold a peaceful protest at Azad Maidan in Mumbai, condemning the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza. 'The protest will be held on August 20, between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m., for the protesters to express their thoughts on the genocide purportedly occurring in Gaza,' the police told the Division Bench of justices, Ravindra Ghuge and Gautam Ankhad. Additional Public Prosecutor S.C. Gavand told the court that the protest must comply with the legal requirements and be confined to the designated demonstration area. Representing the petitioners, Senior Advocate Mihir Desai assured the Bench that the organisers will adhere to the draft regulations under the Maharashtra Police Act, which require organisers to ensure the event remains orderly and confined to designated protest areas and said, 'I hope neither of us comes back on the 21st.' On Monday (August 11, 2025), Mr. Desai had informed the court that the Pune police gave permission last week to hold a similar protest. To this, the court asked the APP to check if the protest can be allowed with some conditions in place to ensure law and order in the city. on Tuesday, after hearing that the permission is granted, the court disposed of the petition. The CPI(M) on X, shared, 'The permission by #MumbaiPolice to CPI(M) and acceptance of #BombayHighCourt to hold peaceful protest against ongoing genocide in #Gaza by Israel vindicated the correctness of CPI(M) stand and nullifies Court's own earlier ill remarks and earlier anti-democratic refusal of Police.' On July 25, 2025, the same Bench dismissed the CPI(M)'s petition and sharply criticized the party for concentrating on international events over domestic concerns. 'Our country has enough issues. Look at your own country. Be patriots. This is not patriotism,' the Bench noted, urging the political party to prioritize citizen-centric issues like garbage disposal, pollution, drainage, and flooding instead of distant geopolitical conflicts. Following the court's observation, the CPI(M) released a press note the same evening, 'The Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) strongly condemns the observations of the Bombay High Court Bench while rejecting an application by the party to challenge the Mumbai Police's refusal to allow a protest action against the ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza. Ironically, the Bench appears to be unaware of either the provisions of the Constitution which enshrines the rights of a political party, or the history of our country and our people's solidarity with the Palestinians and their legitimate right to homeland. The observations smack of distinct political bias in line with the Central government.' CPI(M) had submitted multiple applications in June to hold a protest at Azad Maidan but all of them were rejected by police on grounds that the issue was international and could complicate law and order situations.

Gaza terrorists caught using fake humanitarian logo, vests

Tel Aviv [Israel], August 13 (ANI/TPS): The US-based World Central Kitchen confirmed an Israeli accusation that Palestinian terrorists in Gaza were caught on video impersonating humanitarian aid staff.'WATCH: 5 Armed terrorists operated under the cover of a fake emblem of @WCKitchen placed on a vehicle in Gaza – and were eliminated from the air," tweeted the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT). COGAT is a unit of the Israeli Defence Forces that coordinates civilian issues in Judea, Samaria and tweet included aerial footage of armed men wearing yellow response, the WCK tweeted, 'WCK was contacted by Israel's Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), and confirmed the vehicle and persons of interest were not affiliated with WCK."WCK added, We strongly condemn anyone posing as WCK or other humanitarians as this endangers civilians and aid workers. The safety and security of our teams are our top priority."A special report by The Press Service of Israel on Thursday in July found that, according to the UN's own numbers, a staggering 85% of the aid entering the Gaza Strip by truck since May 19 has been stolen. The investigation found that a combination of black market profiteers and inflation has made much of the aid in Gaza markets unaffordable for most on Tuesday, an Israeli academic study released by the Hebrew University of Jerusalem found that humanitarian aid intended to alleviate suffering in war zones often ends up prolonging the very conflicts it seeks to examination of prolonged conflicts in Somalia, Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Sudan, Ethiopia, and Gaza by Hebrew University law professor Netta Barak-Corren and Dr. Jonathan Boxman concluded that aid diversion is not a rare mishap but a systemic feature of the current humanitarian study drew on United Nations reports, NGO records and investigative accounts, documenting how humanitarian agencies often strike informal agreements with local power brokers or armed factions to maintain access. These deals, the authors argue, sometimes contradict the core humanitarian principles of neutrality, impartiality and independence, but are tolerated to keep aid flowing and operations 1,200 people were killed, and 252 Israelis and foreigners were taken hostage in Hamas's attacks on Israeli communities near the Gaza border on October 7. Of the 50 remaining hostages, around 30 are believed to be dead. (ANI/TPS)
