Punter wins truly life-changing sum from ‘magical' £5 bet as bookies wipe away tears on ‘tough day'
ONE punter landed a truly life-changing jackpot from a 'magical' £5 racing bet.
Bookies were left wiping away tears after a 'tough day' saw a whole host of fancied favourites romp home across the card.

But no one landed a bigger gamble than the shrewdie who turned a fiver into an eye-popping £51,224.
They somehow picked TEN winners in a monster accumulator that took in results at Chester, Newton Abbot, Kelso and Fontwell.
The first two results were the favourites at Chester - Ali Shuffle and Redorange - at 5-6 andf 13-8 respectively.
The market leaders ran riot at Newton Abbot for the jumps, with six of the seven races won by the favs.
Roxanne (2-5), Gwennie May Jem (5-6), Sweet Caryline (9-4) and Al Sayah (9-4) all obliged at the Devon track, while Aidan O'Brien's impressive 11-8 winner Lambourn kept the ball rolling at Chester.
Kilmore Rock won the 4pm at Kelso at 3-1 before Jack Sparrow's win in the 6.40pm at Fontwell left it all hanging on the final leg.
Abbey Heights was backed at 15-8 for the 8pm contest at Kempton but sent off 6-5 fav under Jim Crowley.
Trained by Daniel and Claire Kubler, the seven-year-old gelding burst out the gates in a bid to make all.
The punter's heart would have been in their mouth as challengers circled Abbey Heights like sharks a furlong out.
But he stayed on well to win by just over two lengths and secure the colossal sum.
Coral's John Hill said: "With winners at four different racecourses, ten overall across the day, it was a magical start to Chester's May Meeting for one customer.
"They scooped over £51,000 from just a £5 stake.
"It was a tough day for bookmakers as the opening four favourites prevailed at Chester, while at Newton Abbot, six of the seven races were won by the favourite.
"We don't think this will be the only customer celebrating a fancy payout on a multiple bet on Wednesday."

Textile students turn old Blackburn Rovers kits into fashion
Blackburn Rovers have been celebrating one of their greatest ever saves - but this time it did not involve a goalkeeper and instead was a bid to tackle climate change by upcycling old kits. The club asked local fashion students to repurpose kits which were heading to landfill and create a unique collection of clothing, which included skorts, a bell-sleeved jumper and a bag. It is part of Green Football's Great Save which rallies the entire football community from fans, players and pundits to keep kits out of landfill to protect football and the reimagined designs by Blackburn College students, which were on show at Ewood Park, will be auctioned off to raise money for charity. Second year fashion and film and media students from Blackburn College collaborated on the transformed 25 garments, which included taking waist bands off shorts to transform them into crop tops, upcycling track suits into eye-catching jackets and a bag made from two pairs of and media students then filmed as the collection was showcased on the pitch. Textile and fashion student Rihana, who whipped up the bag, said she wanted to put her own spin on all her designs. "I don't really follow football but if I did I would want to wear something that represents me but also still supports the team so I wanted to add some bell sleeves to the jumper," she said. Another student Isaak created skorts - which has the appearance of a skirt but has built-in shorts underneath - and a cropped top from a goalkeepers shirt to add to the collection. 'Create something new' Daniella Slinger, course leader of textiles and fashion at Blackburn College, said: "The fashion industry wastes 92 million tonnes per year globally and almost half of that goes into landfill. "So what we've done with this project is just take a small amount that waste that would have sat in landfill and take it apart, put it back together and create something completely new from it." Blackburn Rovers said the clothing collection will now be sold in an online auction with the proceeds going towards a homeless, refugee and asylum seeker football team supported by the club. Yasir Sufi, head of commercial and partnerships at Blackburn Rovers, praised the innovative creations produced by the students and said it was a "fantastic initiative" to save kits from going into landfill while also raising money for a great cause. Legoland entrance plan in Windsor given go-ahead by council
Legoland's entrance in Windsor will be replaced after a plan was given the green theme park applied to replace the "dated" area, which it said "will complement the existing attractions within the resort".Other changes to the entrance area were given permission by the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead in show Lego figures will feature in the new structure in towers that will look like they have been created from giant Lego bricks.
