Kareena Kapoor Reveals Saif Ali Khan Is The Fun Parent: ‘He Always Spoils Kids'
Last Updated:
Kareena Kapoor Khan discusses balancing career and motherhood, Saif Ali Khan's parenting style, family dynamics, and her upcoming film Daayra.
Kareena Kapoor Khan, a devoted mother of two, offered a glimpse into her life as a working mom. Opening up about the challenges of balancing career and motherhood, the actress shared how her husband, Saif Ali Khan, is the fun, hands-on parent to their sons, Taimur and Jeh. While Kareena admits to being the stricter one, she revealed that the boys adore spending time with Saif, as he happily indulges them with extra screen time and spontaneous music sessions.
During a chat with The Hollywood Reporter India, Kareena revealed that her kids often struggle with her absence during shoots. 'It gets tough. This year, Saif went out and shot for two films, so they were used to Mumma being home. Now, if I go to shoot—even for just 10–15 days a month—they're constantly irritated. They're always like, 'Where is Amma?'," she said.
Reflecting on parenting dynamics in their household, Kareena admitted that while she plays the stricter role, Saif tends to spoil the kids with extra TV time. 'They love it when Saif is there because Saif is such a lovely father. He's a very hands-on father. My elder one loves to play the guitar and drums with him. When I'm not around, they always get extra TV time. The father always spoils them; otherwise, I'm always like, 'Go to bed,'" she shared.
Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan, lovingly dubbed 'Saifeena' by fans, first crossed paths on the sets of Tashan in 2008. Their chemistry soon blossomed into love, and they eventually got married in 2012. Four years later, they welcomed their first child, Taimur Ali Khan, in 2016. They were blessed with another son, Jehangir Ali Khan (Jeh), in 2021.
On the work front, Kareena Kapoor is set to team up for the first time with Malayalam superstar Prithviraj Sukumaran in Daayra. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the film will delve into the darker themes of crime and justice, uncovering unsettling societal truths. Currently in pre-production, the script is co-written by Meghna Gulzar, Yash Keswani, and Sima Agarwal.

Kerala HC questions CBFC over Suresh Gopi's Janaki vs State of Kerala row: ‘We have films with Ram, Sita in title'
Jun 27, 2025 07:12 PM IST The Kerala High Court on Friday questioned the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) on their decision to withhold certification for Union Minister, actor Suresh Gopi's upcoming Malayalam film JSK: Janaki vs State of Kerala. A Bar and Bench report states that the court pointed out that Indian films have Ram and Sita in the title, so it sees no objection. Suresh Gopi and Anupama Parameswaran in a still from Janaki vs State of Kerala. Deputy Solicitor General of India (DGSI), Om Shalina, appeared before the HC on behalf of the CBFC and said the objection was regarding the central character of the film named Janaki, an iteration of Goddess Sita. The judge questioned the reasoning and pointed out that censor certificates were issued in the past despite names of Gods in titles, stating, 'Why should somebody change the name of a character? Janaki is a common name used everywhere. What religious purpose? We have movies with names Sita and Gita. Janaki is Sita. Nothing happened then. Nobody had any complaints. We have a film named Ram Lakhan. Nobody has any complaint. How come there are some complaints for Janaki now?' JSK's producers, Cosmos Entertainment, filed a petition regarding the delay in censor certification. The petition mentioned that though the film certification was submitted on 12 June, the CBFC hasn't issued a certificate or issued any official objections. It also mentioned that the CBFC provided a certificate with no objections for the film's teaser. The petition states that the delay in certification was over an informal objection, claiming they only found out about the objection through news reports. They also called the objection 'arbitrary'. The DGSI claimed that the objection was to the film's 'mature themes', including sexual crime against women and explicit language used against women. JSK, directed by Pravin Narayanan, was supposed to hit screens on 27 June. The General Secretary of the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA), B Unnikrishnan, announced a symbolic protest before the CBFC office on Monday, calling the pressure over title change 'disturbing'.
