Shawn Pugh Spotlighted in Exclusive Interview: 'Showing Up for People, One Step at a Time'
Customer experience leader shares honest lessons on loyalty, leadership, and the quiet power of presence Westland, MI - June 3, 2025 - Customer experience professional and operations expert Shawn Pugh has been featured in a compelling new interview titled Showing Up for People, One Step at a Time. The piece highlights Pugh's humble but powerful approach to leadership, emphasizing the importance of trust, loyalty, and consistency over flash or hype. Known for his calm demeanor and hands-on leadership style, Pugh reflects on his early roots in Flat Rock, Michigan, his training as a certified firefighter, and how those experiences shaped his approach to high-stress environments. 'Firefighting teaches you to stay calm when things go sideways,' he shares. 'That helps a lot in business too.' The interview captures Pugh's belief that good leadership doesn't have to be loud. It can be quiet, steady, and grounded in care. 'Whether it's customers or teammates, I try to show up. That's it. Show up and listen,' he says. From early morning routines to handwritten task lists and a firm commitment to listening, Pugh's approach focuses on building trust and creating meaningful connections—both in the workplace and in life. He shares stories of professional missteps, including the moment he lost a valued employee due to a communication gap. Instead of deflecting, he reflects: 'That changed how I lead. Now I make time to listen—no matter how busy things get.' Pugh also discusses the tools that help him stay organized—like Trello—and the habits that keep him centered, such as stepping outside or hitting the golf course when things get overwhelming. 'You can't focus when you're drowning. Sometimes the best thing to do is walk away, breathe, and reset.' Showing Up for People, One Step at a Time paints a picture of a leader who isn't chasing headlines but who is deeply committed to the people around him. Through consistency, compassion, and a grounded sense of purpose, Shawn Pugh reminds us that leadership is not about being in charge—it's about taking care of those in your charge. About Shawn Shawn Pugh is a customer experience manager and operations leader with a background in firefighting and community service. Based in Michigan, he brings a calm, steady approach to high-pressure roles, focusing on loyalty, team development, and personal connection. Michael J. Fox and Gibson launch search for stolen Back to the Future guitar
In the 1985 time travel movie Back to the Future, there's a scene where Marty McFly, played by Michael J. Fox, has one last chance to save his parents's marriage (and his own life). In it, he steps in for an injured guitarist and helps the band play covers of the Penguins' Earth Angel and Chuck Berry's Johnny B. Goode, with a cherry red Gibson ES-345 in hand. Shortly after filming, that guitar was stolen from the set and has been missing ever since. Today, Gibson and Fox launched a campaign to get the guitar back. "It's somewhere lost in the space-time continuum or it's in a Teamster's garage," says Fox in the campaign video. Christopher Lloyd, who played Dr. Emmett Brown, continues with: "This guitar has been lost to the future." WATCH | Michael J. Fox and more launch the Lost to the Future search: Other stars from the film — including Lea Thompson and Henry Waters Jr., plus musician Huey Lewis, who contributed to the movie's soundtrack — are all part of the campaign. The movie's co-creator Bob Gale calls the guitar an "important piece of cinema history, cinema memorabilia." The dance scene is cemented in film history, and Marty's furiously energetic playing inspired many rock stars, including Coldplay's Chris Martin, to pick up a guitar for the first time. Anyone with any information is encouraged to submit tips online at or call or text the tipline. There's a countdown on the site, marking four months and 18 days to Back to the Future Day on Oct. 21, which was the day Marty McFly embarked on his time travel journey in the original movie.

New York Knicks fire coach Tom Thibodeau after Eastern Conference final trip
The New York Knicks fired coach Tom Thibodeau on Tuesday just days after their first trip to the Eastern Conference finals in 25 years, a person with knowledge of the decision told The Associated Press. Article content The Knicks were eliminated by the Indiana Pacers with a loss in Game 6 on Saturday night. They then decided to move on from Thibodeau, who led them to the postseason in four of his five seasons in New York. Article content The decision was made by team president Leon Rose with approval from owner Jim Dolan, the person told the AP on condition of anonymity because no announcement had been made. The firing was first reported by ESPN. Article content It's a strange decision by the Knicks, who had been one of the league's worst franchises for most of the 2000s until Thibodeau was hired in 2020. He promptly led the Knicks to the playoffs in his first season, winning his second NBA Coach of the Year award, and they have been a solid contender in the East in recent seasons. Article content Their big breakthrough came in 2024-25, when they knocked off defending champion Boston in the second round to reach the conference finals for the first time since 2000 — when Thibodeau was an assistant under Jeff Van Gundy. Article content After they were eliminated Saturday, captain Jalen Brunson expressed his support for Thibodeau, bristling at a question about whether he believed the coach was right for the team.
