One of Wales' best burger restaurants announce opening date in Cardiff

One of south Wales's most loved burger restaurants is opening a new location in Cardiff. Burger Boyz has announced it will be arriving in the capital on Friday, July 18. It will be located at Cowbridge Road east in the Canton area of the city, within the same unit Ansh once traded.
The business was launched by school mates Marcin Sadlos and Jack Phillips back in 2021, who quit their full-time jobs in the engineering industry after finding success pursuing a career in the culinary world, first buying a food truck, before taking over the kitchen at The Red Lion pub in Port Talbot.
They went on to secure a spot at Newport Market, before going on to open a restaurant in Port Talbot, and are also based at Albert Hall in Swansea. For the latest restaurant reviews, sign up to our food and drink newsletter here.
They also bought a food truck which is used to attend events, called The Truck Norris, named after its best-selling burger the Chuck Norris.
The truck has had a presence at Bridgend designer outlet for the last year.
Speaking ahead of the opening of their new location, Mr Sadlos said: "It's an exciting time. Cardiff is a site that we've wanted to open for a while now.
"We were looking for the right opportunity.
"When Ansh decided to close, we got in touch with the landlords and decided to take it over."
The restaurant's menu consists of seven different burgers, along with loaded fries and sides, and has gained a great reputation for the quality of its food.

It has been visited by professional competitive eaters at its Port Talbot restaurant, including Randy Santel, Katina Eats Kilos, Joel Hansen (modelvsfood) and Leah Shutkever.
Mr Sadlos added: "We are going to be serving the same menu that people are used to, and we are actually working on developing a little prep kitchen where we can bring in some smoked meats and some more American-style barbecue items.
"That will be for down the line and not for opening.
"It will be a few months down the line once we have settled."

Manufacturing advanced computer components of the future may take place in space rather than on Earth. Space Forge, a UK-based startup, had its ForgeStar-1 satellite launched into orbit via SpaceX, paving the way for the satellite to ignite its forge and begin producing semiconductors in space. ForgeStar-1 is officially the UK's first ever in-space manufacturing satellite, enabling the company to build semiconductors in space. The satellite was entirely designed and built in Cardiff, Wales, and launched into space as part of SpaceX's Transporter-14 rideshare mission. The satellite waited for approvals in the United States since April before finally entering orbit today. ForgeStar-1 has yet to ignite its forge, with the timetable for when this will happen not yet public. "We've built and launched Britain's first manufacturing satellite, and it's alive in orbit. That's a massive technical achievement," shared Space Forge CEO Joshua Western. "Now, we take the next step: proving that we can create the right environment for manufacturing in space. This is the start of a new era for materials science and industrial capability." In-space manufacturing is a relatively new field that seeks to utilize the unique characteristics of outer space and/or low-Earth orbit to achieve fabrication methods not possible on Earth. Space Forge's primary goals are to produce semiconductors for data center, quantum, and military use cases, using "space-derived crystal seeds" to initiate semiconductor growth, utilizing unlimited vacuum and subzero temperatures for manufacturing, and then returning the chips to Earth for packaging. The ForgeStar-1 satellite will not bring the cargo it manufactures back to Earth at the completion of its mission. Acting more as a proof-of-concept and prototype for a litany of technologies engineered by Space Forge, the satellite will be tasked with running through the successful application of key technologies for in-space manufacturing, and will end its mission with a spectacular fireball. Space Forge plans to test both the best-case and worst-case scenarios for the satellite's recovery. First, it will deploy its proprietary Pridwen heat shield and on-orbit controls to steer the satellite, and then test its failsafe mechanism, which involves disintegrating the craft in orbit. The company's roadmap from 2022 shows that ForgeStar-1's successor, ForgeStar-2, will be the first craft from the company to develop semiconductors that will be returned safely to Earth. The craft will develop enough chips so that the "value of the material manufactured in space exceeds the cost of placing the satellite into orbit", and will be joined eventually by a full stable of Space Forge satellites. The company eventually hopes to build 10-12 satellites per year, reusing craft after the completion of their one- to six-month fabrication missions. Eventually, the company aims to surpass 100 satellite launches per year. While the craft may not ever reach terra firma safely again, the prospect of space-based manufacturing is attractive for several reasons and to a variety of clients. Materials crucial to the bleeding-edge of semiconductor fabrication, including gallium nitride (GaN) and silicon carbide (SiC), can now be worked with to create new chips with the unlimited vacuum of space, in subzero temps without the need for cryogenics, and in a near-weightless environment. If in-space manufacturing catches on, it may become an interesting part of the semiconductor supply chain. Households are being encouraged to submit their meter readings before the energy price cap drops by 7 per cent on Tuesday. The average household bill for those not yet on a fixed tariff will decrease by £129 to £1,720 per year when the new price cap from Ofgem, which sets the maximum amount companies can charge customers per unit of energy, takes effect. This is £660 (28%) less than at the peak of the energy crisis at the beginning of 2023 when the government introduced the energy price guarantee. However, prices remain high with the forthcoming level £152 (10%) more than the same period last year. The price cap does not limit total bills as households still pay for the amount of energy they use. While about 35 per cent of domestic customers have now actively chosen a fixed deal, which is not subject to the price cap, roughly 22 million households in England, Wales, and Scotland are still on the energy price cap. These households should read their meter by the end of the month to ensure they fully benefit from lower energy prices from July 1. Failure to do so risks paying the higher pre-July 1 rate for energy used in the form of estimated bills. Uswitch has revealed that average energy costs for homes on a standard price cap tariff are set to drop from £113 in June to £63 in July, attributing the decrease to lower summer usage and reduced unit rates. The comparison site is encouraging consumers to lock into fixed deals while prices are favourable, highlighting that there are currently 10 fixed tariffs available that undercut the July price cap, with the most economical option offering savings of about £145 for the typical household. Uswitch's energy expert Ben Gallizzi commented: "Customers who don't have a smart meter should submit their readings before or on Tuesday 1 July, so their supplier has an updated – and accurate – view of their account." He also warned of potential increases in energy bills and the price cap this autumn due to global market uncertainties, advising: "But households can get ahead of this possible price hike by fixing at cheaper rates now. Currently, there are a range of fixed deals currently available that are around £145 cheaper than the July price cap for the average household." Gallizzi urged customers to consider switching soon: "If you can switch to a deal cheaper than the July price cap, now is a good time to make the change. We urge customers to run an energy comparison as soon as possible." Additionally, Ofgem has reminded the public that they are not obliged to stick with the price cap, stating "there are better deals out there". The drop in energy prices is set to provide some respite for households that endured an "awful April" with bill increases, including Ofgem's previous 6.4 per cent price cap hike. Families under financial strain have also faced the largest water bill increase since at least February 1988, as well as significant hikes in council tax, mobile and broadband tariffs, and road tax.
