'Fantastically quirky' campsite where people can stay in a yurt or horsebox
This quirky campsite is among the best in Wales, according to a camping website. There are spacious plots for campers but you can also stay in a yurt and a former horsebox. Set in seven acres of woodland, Nyth Robin campsite, five minute's drive from Aberdyfi, offers plenty of privacy but also a communal area for a chat if you fancy meeting like-minded holidaymakers, and coastal paths for walkers and cyclists nearby. There are nine, good sized touring pitches with electricity hookups. The four on the lower terrace are on a separate gravel area, which is great for all weather conditions. The four upper terrace pitches are on grassier terrain and offer a bit more space, and there is also a smaller pitch on its own, suitable for campervans and small motorhomes only. Join the North Wales Live Whatsapp community now The handcrafted yurt - nicknamed Bert - has bespoke touches like an oak doorframe - and can sleep up to six people. It has comfy beds and sofa beds, a private camp kitchen, a wood burner and a lovely fire pit for you to snuggle around. There's that converted former horse lorry, dubbed Betty, which sleeps up to four. Or you can also stay at one of the fabulous five-metre bell tents, which sleep up to four people, a cosy woodland cabin for romantic couples, or a vintage caravan known as Cerys, which has space for three guests. Enjoy the surroundings or stroll around the site's woodlands or relax by its ponds and listen out for the abundance of wild birds. Nyth Robin is family and dog friendly. Campfires are allowed too. Nyth Robin was the overall winner of the Greener Site Award in 2024 Camping and Glamping Awards. It also featured in its 2025 Outstanding Sites list of reliably excellent camping, glamping, and touring sites. Nyth Robin is owned and run by Sadie and Grant. They said: "We fell in love with the site (which was then just a small caravan site) and the area during a holiday to Aberdyfi in 2015. A year and a bit later, we opened as Nyth Robin with a brand new toilet block and our first glamping bell tents. Since then, we continue to enjoy improving and "upgrading" Nyth Robin. "The site is a haven for bird life, and we enjoy the constant background chatter of the birds, especially in the spring when you'll most likely be woken up by the dawn chorus! "We are passionate about looking after our environment, and you'll see many reused and upcycled touches around the site. Grant is the master craftsman, enjoying creating spaces and structures, sustainably with wood from our woodlands." Reviews The most recent reviews on Tripadvisor are favourable. People praise the friendliness and setting. Fran S wrote in July: "This was our first visit to Nyth Robin and we will certainly be returning. It's a beautiful peaceful site amongst woodland and so well kept by our friendly hosts. "We pitched our caravan on lower terrace which was close to all the excellent facilities. Our dog enjoyed exploring the woods and around the ponds. A great place close to Aberdyfi and Machynlleth." And William wrote in June last year: "Fantastically quirky site! Great facilities with friendly staff, a hidden gem in a great woodland setting. "My only very, very slightly critical observation is the elsan point (a designated area for emptying chemical toilet waste) is up quite a few steps for an old geezer like me to carry a large full cassette! So I saved it for our next site. A great stay overall and we will definitely be back numerous times I'm sure."

"We hope this recognition continues to drive business to you in 2025 and beyond." Aberglasney Gardens is known as a 'plantsman's paradise' and offers visitors a variety of garden spaces, historical features, and seasonal displays throughout the year.
