"Very Humbled": Sparks Star Cameron Brink Announces Exciting News
The Los Angeles Sparks currently have the longest winning streak in the league, emerging victorious in five straight games. They now have an 11-14 record during the 2025 WNBA season and are just 1.0 games back from the final playoff spot.
Kelsey Plum has been the key catalyst for the Sparks, scoring 20.1 points and dishing out 5.9 assists per game en route to her fourth-straight All-Star appearance. Los Angeles' Dearica Hamby, Azura Stevens and Rickea Jackson are all averaging more than 13.6 points as well.
Second-year forward Cameron Brink has yet to play for the Sparks this season after suffering an injury in June 2024.
Brink was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft and was off to a strong start in her professional career before being forced to sit out over a year due to injury.
She has been nearing a return to the court for Los Angeles, however, and on Monday, Brink was asked if she would be available for Tuesday's game between the Sparks and Las Vegas Aces.
'I don't know if I can say that, but yeah,' Brink said. 'Means the world, I'm just very excited, very humbled by this experience. It's no easy thing to come back from, so I'm just really excited.'
Brink played in 15 games for Los Angeles during her rookie season. She started all 15 contests and played nearly 22 minutes per game, contributing averages of 7.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per contest. She also added 1.7 assists and 1.1 steals per game.
Sparks head coach Lynne Roberts noted that Brink is likely to have a minutes restriction in her return to the court against the Aces.
