Stolen dog found ‘safe and well'
A loved family dog in Melbourne has been reunited with her owners after she was stolen by a group of youths in a early morning incident.
Morticia, a five-year-old white Staffordshire Bull terrier cross, was stolen from an elderly man while on a walk in Mount Waverley about 2.30am on Saturday.
According to Victoria Police, officers were told a group of youths inside a black Holden Commodore pulled over and made demands for the dog along Huntingdale Rd.

He was uninjured in the incident and the group fled in the vehicle.
On Saturday evening, police gave the happy update that Morticia had been located and reunited with her owners.
'It's understood the dog was located on Huntingdale Road and taken to the RSPCA before going home,' A Victoria Police spokeswoman said.
'Police continue to investigate the theft.
'Any witnesses or anyone with CCTV/dashcam footage or information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers'.

Family and police are becoming increasingly concerned about the disappearance of a young Melbourne man. The 23-year-old from Sunbury, Joshua Bishop, has not been seen for 10 days, Victoria Police said. He has not used his phone or accessed his bank accounts during this time. Bishop was reported missing by his mother on May 29 but had last been seen two days earlier by his housemate. Police were able to track Bishop's mobile phone to a park in Broadmeadows, on a digital trace from May 27. A 'significant' search of the park on June 4 found no further evidence of Bishop, Victoria Police said. His car was located further south on Ridley St at Albion. Bishop's 'associates' told police they thought the car had been stolen from him. 'This was not reported to police,' Victoria Police said. 'At this time, the circumstances of Joshua's disappearance are unclear and police have not been able to rule out that it may be suspicious. 'Investigators and family are increasingly concerned given the passage of time with no contact from Joshua.' Bishop was last seen wearing a black singlet and tracksuit pants. He is Caucasian and described as being of average build with short blonde hair and blue eyes. Police are first appealing to Joshua, hoping he will make contact with police himself if he becomes aware of their public appeal. But investigators are also very keen to speak with anyone who has information about Bishop's whereabouts after May 27. 'From all accounts, his disappearance is incredibly out of character,' Victoria Police acting detective sergeant Matthew Wilson-Hawe said. 'At this stage, we simply don't know what has happened to him. 'The more time passes without us hearing Joshua or getting any information about his whereabouts, the more we believe his disappearance is likely to be suspicious. 'If there is anyone out there with information about Joshua, whether they have heard from him in that time since he was last seen or they have information about his current whereabouts, then we are keen to speak to them.' Investigations are ongoing and anyone with information should contact crime Stoppers.
