Woman buys Harry Potter cards at charity shop but is bowled over by real worth
You never know what you're going to find when you go exploring, especially when it comes to looking around charity shops. After all, they're often full of so many weird and wonderful things, and sometimes you can really snap up an expected bargain when you least expect to find one.
This is exactly what happened to one woman recently when she visited a charity shop to have a look around. Lola, known as lola_amuah on TikTok, was taken by surprise when she found a tin full of Harry Potter collectable cards when she was shopping, and when she got them home she couldn't get over just how much they could be worth.
In a recent video, she revealed that she found some great finds during a recent trip. She spotted a patterned jug that she seemed to love, which came complete with matching glasses too.
She then came across a tin that was full of Harry Potter cards, which she decided to snap up. It sounded like she paid around £10 for them, and she thought they were "cool."
However, it wasn't until she got them home that she realised just how valuable they are. Lola explained: "When we got home, we realised that we had the entire collection of those cards.
"Every single one was in a plastic sleeve, and this is just one what one of them is on sale for on eBay." On the screen, she then revealed someone was flogging the single card for £245.42."
This meant that she could have cards worth thousands overall, though some may obviously vary in value. Lola couldn't believe her luck when she did her research.
One person replied, saying: "'You're a wizard Harry'. Those cards are so cool, and a great price." Another wrote: "Oh, tell us more about the cards."
A third added: "I used to collect those Harry Potter cards as a kid." Meanwhile, a fourth also commented: "Great finds."
When it comes to Harry Potter trading cards, they can vary widely in value. While some can be worth a few pounds, others can be worth hundreds or thousands - it all depends on how rare they are.
If they are signed, this may also pump up the value. None the less, Lola seems to have the potential to make a great profit on one card alone. Cards with limited print runs or unique features (like holofoil or autographs) are said to be more valuable.
Mint or near-mint condition cards will also bring in more money than those that are damaged or worn. If your cards feature any iconic characters or specific scenes from the books or movies, they may be more desirable to buyers.
Cards signed by the main actors (Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint) can also be super valuable, particularly if they have been kept in good condition. However, you need to bear the market demand in mind.
The price can also be influenced by the number of collectors and their willingness to pay a premium for certain cards. Doing a little research online will help you determine if your cards are worth anything.

Oasis fans discover new genius way of watching the sold-out shows for free
A pair of Oasis fans who didn't get tickets to their sold-out Manchester shows found a novel way to see the band instead - and even the Gallaghers were impressed Two Oasis fans who failed to get tickets to the band's sold-out tour found a genius way to watch their homecoming gigs at Manchester's Heaton Park. Posting a video to TikTok, @softgirlswhohikle shared a clip of the male fans, who might have got a better view of the stage than most people in the crowds. "No tickets for Oasis? Get the cherry picker out!" the caption said. "At least they didn't forget their bucket hats," they added. The post quickly racked up more than 160,000 likes, with fans saying both Oasis and Liam Gallagher and brother Noel Gallagher reposted the short clip to their own social media accounts. Oasis fans are only just realising why Noel Gallagher always has a straw in his mouth before gigs Oasis fan sneaks into Heaton Park gig without ticket after hatching this genius plan And people were impressed with the Oasis fans' efforts, with one referencing the astronomical price of the tickets - some of which reached £500 – in the comments: "Cheaper to hire than paying for a ticket." Another posted: "This is definitely maybe iconic." A third asked: "Genius! Are they taking bookings? Asking for a friend." A fourth joked: "That's Bez and Shaun Ryder [from the Happy Mondays]." A fifth added: "Well done lads... I'm surprised the council didn't try and put a fence around it!" While a sixth added: "Champagne Supernova in the SKYYYYYYYY!!!" After kicking off their reunion tour in Cardiff on Friday, July 4, Oasis have already played five nights in their native Manchester at Heaton Park. Tonight (Friday, July 25) is the first night of another five-night stretch, this time at London's Wembley Stadium. It became one of their final gigs before they sensationally split in Paris later on that year. But the venue doesn't hold good memories for older brother Noel, 58, who previously tore into 'our kid' Liam, 52, over a previous performance. Describing a gig in the year 2000 there as their 'worst ever', he declared: "That was the low point in Oasis. It was a horrible two-and-a-half hour on stage. Liam can hang his head in shame. It was dreadful." So the band will be pulling out all the stops to make sure the next five nights are ones to remember for all the right reasons. After their London gigs, they will go on to play dates in Edinburgh and Dublin, before taking the tour international. After a 16-year feud, so far Liam and Noel are holding it together on tour – and were even spotted holding hands on stage. Though things appear to be fine between the brothers now, Liam recently opened up to reveal what his one major regret about the band was. A fan asked him on social media: "How does it feel singing songs with ur brother again? Like old times?" Liam responded: "You know what it's spiritual, but I can't help think about all those wasted years, what a waste of PRECIOUS time." But could fans see the once-warring brothers again after their upcoming tour? Replying to a fan, Liam teased: "Let's see how this tour goes and if we still love each other after it." viagogo and resale tickets Sites such as viagogo, Stubhub, and Vivid Seats allow fans to buy resale tickets from other fans. However, it is important to note that ticket conditions often prohibit resale after initial purchase. Those tickets may not be valid for admittance to gigs. Fans intending to buy tickets for live events through resale websites should check the ticket terms and conditions, to confirm whether resale is prohibited, before they buy. Ticket terms and conditions can be checked with the original seller, such as Ticketmaster or Live Nation. If resale is prohibited, tickets bought second-hand could be voided and admission to the event refused.

TikTok user @lifeatthelma showed how she had picked out a gorgeous sage green paint and had then taped a decorative stencil to the wall. After she pulled off a larger section, she joked: 'But do we think it is giving cottage core (the goal) or chain link fence?'

Woman who lives on cruise ship reveals top ‘gross' habit she sees from guests
After living on a cruise ship for six months out of the year, a woman has pointed out the most disgusting habit she has seen from her fellow passengers. Christine Kesteloo, a 44-year-old business owner and content creator on TikTok, recently spoke to Unilad about what she notices when she is aboard the ship with her husband, who works as a chief staff engineer. While she told the publication that living on a cruise ship 'feels like a constant vacation,' she did admit that everything is not sunshine and rainbows. 'As far as gross [parts], I don't like when guests go to the buffet directly after the gym, [and] don't wash their hands,' Kesteloo said. Despite the drawback, the TikToker pointed out that she mostly enjoys her cruise life, noting that her ship only carries 1,400 passengers compared to larger and more commercial ships that house at least 5,000 people. 'Most of the 'myths' you have heard about cruise ships are wrong,' Kesteloo added. 'Yes, I do drink the water, and no, you can't fall overboard unless you are doing something you shouldn't. Cruising is safe.' However, the best part of living on a cruise ship, according to her, is the extra perks. 'I have been to 109 countries. I also don't have to pay for petrol, food, make my bed, do my laundry, or clean my room,' she said. Kesteloo also noted in an interview with The Mirror that every time she and her husband are on the ship, they stay in 'the best cabin in the whole entire ship.' The only amenity she does not take advantage of is the boat's casino. 'I am not allowed to sit at a slot machine and play my heart until I win because it would look a little weird if I, as the wife of the chief staff engineer, won like a big jackpot. So I am not allowed to gamble on the ship,' she said. And because her husband is an employee on the ship, she tries to ensure the guests are given priority over her. 'If the pool is packed, I make sure to get off and give the guests a seat, it's just the right thing to do,' Kesteloo said. 'I totally understand how to give guests the best time, and I don't think a crew member taking their seat is the right thing to do.'
