Bemidji school board to discuss class sizes, school calendar
Feb. 21—BEMIDJI — The
Bemidji Area Schools
Board of Education will meet in regular session at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 24, in the district office board room.
Superintendent Jeremy Olson will share class sizes that exceed recommended guidelines. As part of school board policy, Olson is required to give this report in October and February each school year.
The board will also review the 2025-2026 school calendar.
The public can attend the meeting in person or
watch it on the Bemidji Area Schools YouTube channel.
An informal listening session will precede the regular board meeting at 6 p.m. at the district office.

Fox News averaged 1.6 million total day viewers compared to 545,000 for MSNBC and 353,000 for CNN. Fox News' total day viewers grew 21% since May 2024, while MSNBC was down 33% and CNN shed 24% of its audience. During primetime, Fox News averaged around 2.5 million total viewers compared to 877,000 for MSNBC and only 426,000 for CNN. White House officials to meet Chinese delegation in London for next round of trade talks
Senior White House officials will meet with a Chinese delegation in London on Monday for the next round of trade talks, President Donald Trump has said. The meeting comes after a phone call between Mr Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping on Thursday, which the US president said was "very positive". Writing on his Truth Social platform, Mr Trump said the London meeting "should go very well" and added that US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer would represent the US at the is unclear who will represent China. The two countries are at an impasse over tariffs and a dispute involving critical rare earth mineral exports, in which China remains the dominant producer. On 12 May, China and the US struck a 90-day deal in Geneva to pause retaliatory tariffs placed on each other since Mr Trump was inaugurated in January. The initial agreement prompted a global surge in stock markets and U.S. indexes that were in, or approaching, bear market levels. The temporary deal saw the US reduced its 145% tariff to 30% on Chinese also agreed to reduce its 125% retaliatory tariffs to 10% on US goods. However, sector-specific tariffs, such as the 25% tax on cars, aluminium and steel, are still in place. Cheung, a former spokesperson for the Ultimate Fighting Championship, fired back at Wolff in a statement to the Daily Beast. 'Michael Wolff clearly suffers from Trump Derangement Syndrome and begged like a dog for an interview for his failed book,' he said. 'The only thing being carried out is his dignity after (he) continues to embarrass and beclown himself in a fleeting attempt to gain relevancy.' Wolff has grown accustomed to Cheung's attacks, which he believes are all part of a show for Trump, who famously rewards loyalty—and venom. 'Whatever Steven says or does is directed to an audience of one,' the author said. 'He issues these kinds of vituperative comments, which Trump likes. 'That's a good one,' Trump will say.'
