Video: Funnel cloud over Frankford June 30; NWS can't confirm tornado

As red, orange, yellow and green rolled across the radar over southern Delaware June 30, a funnel cloud was caught on video in Frankford. Georgetown resident Allison Marvel took the video from Omar and Armory roads in Frankford around 1:15 p.m., but the National Weather Service has not confirmed a tornado in the area, nor has the agency received any reports of damage as of 4 p.m. June 30, a representative said. "It definitely looks like a funnel cloud, but we are still coordinating to see ... if it made contact with the ground and would then be considered a tornado," the representative said. Most of the region was at marginal risk for severe thunderstorms Monday. The sun was out again shortly after the funnel cloud was spotted, but a slight chance of thunderstorms remains through the evening of June 30 in Sussex County. Prayers Pouring In For State Of Florida On Monday

Prayers Pouring In For State Of Florida On Monday originally appeared on The Spun. Prayers are pouring in for the state of Florida on this Monday morning. A major storm appears to be heading for the western coast of Florida on Monday morning. Iconic weatherman Jim Cantore issued a major warning for those on the western coast of Florida. A "surging bow" is heading for the western coast of Florida prior to 9 a.m. E.T. on Monday morning. It looks intense. "Surging bow heading into Tarpon Springs, FL/New Port Richey area with gusty winds, waterspouts offshore," he wrote. "Incoming!" "Wow that's crazy," one fan wrote after seeing a photo of the radar. "Let's go!!" another storm chaser said. As a reminder, here's what to do when significant weather hits: Stay Weather Ready: Continue to listen to local news or a NOAA Weather Radio to stay updated about severe thunderstorm watches and warnings. At Your House: Go to your secure location if you hear a severe thunderstorm warning. Damaging wind or large hail may be approaching. Take your pets with you if time allows. At Your Workplace or School: Stay away from windows if you are in a severe thunderstorm warning and damaging wind or large hail is approaching. Do not go to large open rooms such as cafeterias, gymnasiums or auditoriums. Outside: Go inside a sturdy building immediately if severe thunderstorms are approaching. Sheds and storage facilities are not safe. Taking shelter under a tree can be deadly. The tree may fall on you. Standing under a tree also put you at a greater risk of getting struck by lightning. In a Vehicle: Being in a vehicle during severe thunderstorms is safer than being outside; however, drive to closest secure shelter if there is sufficient time. Our thoughts are with everyone in the western part of Florida on this Monday morning. Stay safe and dry, everyone.
