Dr. Bin Habtoor emphasized Sana'a's historical role as a refuge for all Yemenis, not only during current challenges but consistently since the 1940s, 50s, and 60s, affirming its enduring status as Yemen's capital, particularly during difficult periods. He drew parallels to the suffering endured by southern governorates under British occupation and a subsequent "totalitarian regime," noting that Sana'a provided a welcoming haven. He explained that Yemenis' decision to rally behind the leader of the revolution stems from their refusal to accept any colonizer, whether "small or large," including "Britain or its tools and creations, such as the UAE and Saudi Arabia," stressing that Yemenis have never and will never accept such occupiers. Dr. Bin Habtoor referenced historical resistance, including the revolt against Captain Haines in Aden 150 years ago, and the resistance in southern Abyan, Hadhramaut, the Awaliq Mountains, and Bayhan, which received support from northern Yemen at the time.
