Alampur MLA Vijayudu Distributes 289 Kalyana Lakshmi & Shaadi Mubarak Cheques to Beneficiaries

The program witnessed the participation of several senior BRS party leaders, elected representatives, and grassroots-level workers from different mandals in the constituency.
C.M. Relief Fund Cheques Handed Over to Two Beneficiaries in Itikyala Mandal
In a separate humanitarian gesture on the same day, MLA Vijayudu handed over financial assistance cheques under the Chief Minister's Relief Fund (CMRF) to two individuals from Udandapuram village of Itikyala Mandal:
Harijan Prakasham received a cheque of ₹15,000 to support medical or financial needs.
Harijan Shankaraiah received a cheque of ₹16,500 from the CMRF.
Both beneficiaries expressed gratitude towards the government and the MLA for the timely support. BRS party leaders and local representatives were also present during this occasions.
These initiatives reflect the continued efforts of the Telangana government and local leadership in addressing the financial challenges of marginalized communities, especially in rural areas. The schemes not only provide relief but also ensure social support for those in need.

Hyderabad: Supreme Court on Wednesday annulled the nominations of M Kodandaram and Amer Ali Khan as members of the legislative council (MLCs) under the governor's quota, and said any fresh nominations must come through a recommendation of the state cabinet and approval by the governor. The dispute traces back to Sept 2023, when the then governor, Tamilisai Soundararajan, rejected the nominations of Sravan and Satyanarayana on the ground that they were party functionaries and therefore not suitable for the 'eminent persons' category reserved for nominations under the governor's quota. The BRS nominees challenged the rejection, arguing that a governor has no independent power to turn down the cabinet's recommendation and must act on the aid and advice of the council of ministers. After the Congress led by Revanth Reddy assumed office in Dec 2023, the cabinet recommended Kodandaram and Amer Ali for the two seats. The governor approved these names, contrary to her own press note that she will not act in the matter till the high court resolved the BRS's pleas. The high court later quashed both the governor's rejection of the BRS names and the subsequent approval of the Congress nominees. The BRS govt nominees then approached the Supreme Court, contending that the high court should have restored their nominations. The governor also appealed, saying parts of the high court order could be read as 'intruding' into the governor's constitutional domain. During Wednesday's hearing, attorney general R Venkataramani appeared for the governor and defended the actions taken. He said the governor first faced the allegation that she had not acted on cabinet advice when she rejected the BRS names. "When a second set of names came from the new cabinet, she acted strictly in accordance with that advice and approved them," he said. The bench asked why there appeared to be a 'pick and choose' approach, rejecting one set and approving another. The attorney general responded that the governor had 'rectified the initial mistake' and aligned with the cabinet's recommendation the second time. "The high court said I have to act in tune with the advice of the cabinet and called my rejection order bad in law. Then why did it nullify the subsequent approval of the Congress nominees which was in accordance with cabinet advice? I have no idea why the high court did that," he said, adding that he was not supporting either set of recommendations but stating the legal position as he understood it. With the Supreme Court's modification of its interim order, the high court's March 2024 ruling will operate for now. Any fresh nominations proposed during the pendency of these petitions will be provisional and subject to the Supreme Court's final decision. BRS flays hike in life tax on vehicles, says it's heavy burden on middle-class, poor
The recent increase in life tax on vehicles effected by the State Government is nothing short of a ruthless blow to the poor and middle-class families of Telangana, former minister and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader T. Harish Rao has said. Condemning the government decision, Mr. Rao accused the government of exploiting people through oppressive taxation policies. He said Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had proved his deputy M. Bhatti Vikramarka's words right that the Congress had immense experience in collecting revenue by turning this experience into a burden on the common man. Without any justification, the Congress Government had issued GOs 53 and 54 increasing life tax on new vehicles and squeezing the poor and middle class under additional financial pressure. Purchasing even a two-wheeler costs over ₹1 lakh in the present day. Farmers, small traders and daily wage workers depend on these vehicles for livelihood and raising the life tax from 12% to 15% on two-wheelers above ₹1 lakh is nothing but extortion, the BRS leader said. For instance, if a two-wheeler's showroom price is ₹1.10 lakh, the previous tax was ₹13,200 and with the hike it would become ₹16,500 – an additional burden of ₹3,200 per two-wheelerke. Across Telangana, this life tax hike would extract over ₹1,000 crore from the people. Owning a car is an aspiration for many families and most middle-class buyers rely on loans to fulfil this dream. But the Congress Government had shattered those hopes as cars priced between ₹10-₹20 lakh would not attract 18% life tax, up from 17%. resulting in an extra burden of nearly ₹20,000 per vehicle. For vehicles priced above ₹20 lakh and ₹50 lakh, the life tax was been raised by 2% and 3%, respectively, burdening more households. The government didn't stop there and increased taxes on commercial vehicles too from 20% to 22% for vehicles costing above ₹20 lakh and up to 25% for those over ₹50 lakh. Ultimately, this tax burden would be passed on to the market and affect the general public through increased prices of goods and services. In addition, the Congress government is handing over road management under the HAM (Hybrid Annuity Model) to private companies for 15–20 years. To fund this model through loans, the government is quietly increasing taxes as a backdoor way to loot people under the pretext of development, Mr. Rao added.

BRS leader Harish urges Uttam to turn on KLIS motors immediately to fill reservoirs
SIDDIPET: BRS leader and former minister T Harish Rao on Wednesday urged Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy to ensure that the Kaleshwaram motors are turned on immediately to fill the various reservoirs in the state. In a letter addressed to Uttam, the former irrigation minister said that the farmers of Telangana were in deep distress as they are unable to proceed with cultivation due to lack of water. 'Turn on the motors at Package-6 of the Kaleshwaram project and begin pumping water to fill reservoirs like Mid Manair, Annapurna, Ranganayakasagar, Mallannasagar, Kondapochammasagar and Baswapur. This is crucial for taking up cultivation by farmers in the command area of approximately five lakh acres,' he said. 'The farming community is waiting for irrigation water for Kharif season,' Harish said while adding that there should be no further delay in pumping water to the reservoirs. The Siddipet legislator also asked Uttam to take advantage of recent rains in the upper regions by turning on the Kaleshwaram pumps to start pumping water for the benefit of farmers.
