Expanding regional footprint with the acquisition of Smart Vision School
International Schools Partnership (ISP) has acquired Smart Vision School, an inclusive, family-oriented school in Al Barsha, Dubai. This strategic acquisition underscores ISP's commitment to ongoing investment in the education sector within the region, fuelling significant portfolio growth to 11 schools across Qatar and the UAE, including three in Doha, two in Abu Dhabi, and now six in Dubai. Founded in 2014, Smart Vision School has built a strong reputation as a British Curriculum School, with students from the Foundation Stage (FS) to Year 8. The acquisition makes Smart Vision School the eighth UAE school to be added to the ISP network. Globally, the group owns over 100 schools in 25 countries.

ISP will develop the physical and operational infrastructure of Smart Vision School to take the school into its next phase of growth. This expansion will enable Smart Vision School to become a full FS through to Year 13 school, offering a comprehensive British Curriculum.
The partnership will also focus on empowering Smart Vision School's educators through access to ISP's global network of over 14,000 professionals and extensive Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities.
This includes peer-led training and participation in communities of practice, all while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. In addition, students will benefit from an enriched curriculum and access to ISP's unique learning opportunities.

ITC underscores the importance of providing valet parking services exclusively through licensed operators
Abu Dhabi – The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC), affiliated with the Department of Municipalities and Transport, has issued a notice stressing that all entities offering valet parking services must obtain official licences from the ITC before commencing any activity within the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. It clarified that providing such services without a licence, or misusing an existing one, constitutes a violation of the approved laws and regulations and subjects offenders to legal accountability. The ITC explained that its field inspection teams continue to carry out regular monitoring campaigns at service locations to ensure compliance with regulations and to maintain a safe and organised environment that reflects Abu Dhabi's quality of life standards. In this regard, the Integrated Transport Centre urged relevant entities such as hotels, shopping centres and service providers to review their legal standing and verify the validity of their permits in line with the approved requirements. The Centre also emphasised the importance of the public choosing licensed providers when using valet parking services, to safeguard their rights and ensure the safety of their vehicles. The ITC confirmed that any reports of illegal practices or violations related to valet parking services will be received through the official communication channels. This comes as part of the Centre's ongoing efforts to enhance oversight, regulate service provision, and preserve the Emirate's civilised image. Abu Dhabi-listed Aldar sets new sustainability goals for 2025
Abu Dhabi-listed developer Aldar has set a target to recycle 87 percent of construction and demolition waste and increase waste recycling by 10 percent in 2025. The move is part of the company's resource efficiency drive through smart water systems, efficient fixtures, and water reuse initiatives. The developer is targeting a two percent reduction in water intensity for existing assets, according to its 2024 sustainability report. Aldar said it is committed to mitigating the real estate sector's climate impact by pursuing a robust Net Zero strategy for decarbonisation, optimising energy management through sustainable design and smart technologies, and integrating renewable, clean energy solutions. The company is aiming for a 30 percent reduction in EUI [Energy Use Intensity] by design from ASHRAE 2007, a 40 percent reduction in WUI [Water Use Intensity] by design from Estidama baseline and a 20 percent reduction in embodied carbon in construction (materials) this year, according to the report. Aldar said it will integrate sustainability into its procurement by ensuring 100 percent of construction tenders above AED 5 million and 100 percent of non-construction tenders above AED500,000 value are evaluated against sustainability criteria. Additionally, all appointed contractors will be trained on sustainability. The report said a 34-megawatt (MW) solar PV project covering 45 assets will be completed in mid-2025 and is expected to reduce 23,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions within its first year. The developer said these savings represent a 12 percent reduction in Scope 2 emissions related to purchased electricity (2023 baseline) and are anticipated to avoid more than 560,000 tonnes of CO2 over the project's 20-year lifetime. Additionally, operations at a new integrated waste management facility are set to commence in the second half of 2025. The Ecoloop circular waste management project is being developed in partnership with state-owned waste management and recycling company Tadweer.
